btw the whole youthful energy is why quirky shows work like they are operating on an extremely youthful level in the adult world because we forget so often. especially when we want it ot be truly fun. even in like dark humor there has to be an element of brightness, that’s what makes everything more strange or absurd. like in arrested development there’s such deep real chemistry and love between them and yet the animosity is intense and real. it’s funny because they are childish (AND IN A STATE OF LITERAL EMOTIONAL ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT!!!) anyway look that’s what we all need. maybe that’s what vincenzo was missing too. the rules and limitations of a world and making absurd things fun really relies on how much we can connect with the imaginations and creativity of it. there has to be some element of childlike fancy because that’s what brings out the irony. seeing the world through an insanely easy lens that makes itself so complicated when it’s trying to be understood, we connect with that.

this isnt’ for serious dramatic pieeces or whatever but honestly nothing nothing i write or watch is ever going to take itself so serious. none of my favorite filmmakers, none of my fav movies, artists whatever ever do that lmao i just cannot take it. even stranger had funny moments you know. like definitely my favs have just great senses of humor (or levity or traces of youth) there’s no point in being without it to me. so idk about alladat like no thanks @ watching ppl cry for 10 hours i have no interest in seeing Doubt with Meryl Streep, thanks
