My bigger problem is how do people who have been close or interact very closely not have an inkling of the personality type. It is more easy to guage when they are younger.

Like, seungri, his ambition to make money and become rich business man has always been transparent since pre-debut videos. So, it is easier to relate that a person who desires to be rich by hook or crook at some point would have given in to the realities of rich and powerful.
JJY – I can’t believe 1n2d castmembers didn’t have an idea of his thought process. Specially someone like Cha Tae Hyun, who is so well connected in the industry. Jong Min’s comments about JJY , in retrospect, are pretty interesting. All of them saying JJY is not nice (including some of other guests on youtube etc) holds those indications.. That he really wasn’t nice (don’t mean specifics around his scanadal, but the fact of guaging someone’s personality drift)
I remember reading some post about rape and how often men have no idea that they are friends with a rapist. The explanation for that was simple, that shitty person just didn’t want to fuck his friend. That’s why he didn’t show his true colours.
Another point is that people who go through life without getting caught generally know what to say and to whom. For example you wouldn’t talk about how you hate black people to a black person in a workplace. You would also not talk about it to a white guy who is happily married to a black womea.
As someone who has grown up in a shitty neighborhood, there are red flags but they are tiny and because of your expressed disinterest to the subject matter, you don’t see more of them.
you might be right actually about tiny red flags.. but them not really becoming a big thing in eyes of friends and all.. because you are not consciously looking for them (and there are 1000 reasons to interpret or overlook those tiny flags)

Disclaimer: In Seungri’s case, I am hundred percent sure his teammates knew. YG was involved, there is literally no way his teammates had no idea.

people forget.. but people like zico and all knew.. jokes and tones from the past just make so much more sense now..
JJY.. i think he was blatant about it.. like NO ONE ever said he is a nice kid 🙂 .. the more i think of his mom’s episode in 1n2d.. argh
( and in kris wu’s case, mom knew.. paid off.. i don’t understand)
