Also I think, almost 10 years of drama watching I think that was the most proper way to use noble idiocy, because it’s BOTH of them deciding because they realized there’s no other option (for now).
I’m a little confused. From what I saw, it’s YD making this call, not a mutual decision. DJ didn’t want to break up with him. She knew what was coming because she overheard, but just because she didn’t throw everything at stopping it doesn’t mean she actually wanted the breakup. Or did I misunderstand what you mean?
Oh yes, it was his decision, but she heard that he was having a hard time because of her and decided that they have no choice but to break up. By both sides i mean even if Youngdo didn’t know, Dajung knows that Youngdo is doing the noble idiocy and she gets on with it instead of one side not communicating like how kdrama usually does
The way he turned her “anger” around so that he was the “jerk” showed his scary professional powers. For her, he became the same as every other guy she had dated and had let her down. He packaged himself in terms that fitted her pattern.
Wait I didn’t see it that way omg I thought she expected that and knew that he was going to be cruel? I guess rewatching again omg yes… she was taken aback by his reaction………..

I think Just Between Lovers had the only understandable noble idiocy.

He did it for her. He became the jerk so she could let him go. I don’t think she was really fooled though.
