Finished Divorce Attorney Shin and I like it.
It may not be the show I would recommend for lots of people as the story isn’t that appealing; but it entertained me enough, I like the humour, the cases aren’t too bad either (and better than Strangers Again for example for sure).
I keep watching for our characters and their stories, especially Sung-han, who is played by Jo Seung-woo quite effortlessly it seems. (also recently I’ve been rewatching Forest of Secrets during dinner time with my brother, then watched this show by myself later, which sometimes made me feel like I’m an avid fan of his XD
And as the show did switch from mentioning and using trot songs to classical music, I wonder if anyone has any issue with it? Ain’t familiar with both so I just find the pieces did fit with the emotional scenes, and likely to go back to rewatch those one day.

Nothing wrong with being an avid fan of Jo Seung-woo. Nothing at all…

FWIW, I think Trot is like a “Marmite genre” of music. You either like it or you hate it.

But to your direct point, in this show, I took the vascillation between the classical and the contemporary to suggest that while Sung-han had reasons to want to leave behind the life where he was a concert pianist, he couldn’t leave music behind altogether.

I also loved loved the use of “Erlkönig” in the scene you have illustrated above. It’s actually a piece I know well (as a listener, not a musician) and when he played it, I thought, “I hope this isn’t foreshadowing.” Unfortunately for me, I think it was and it wasn’t–I thought they could have actually done more with the themes of that poem/song.

Let’s not start with Jo Seung Woo. I feel like a stalker kind of fan as of late.
Now, the music in DAS is something I enjoyed, especially the classical. I like how he used pieces of backstory about it to explain his take on certain cases.
