Watched 3 eps of The Worst of Evil last night. I’m still thinking about it. I’m surprised how satisfying they were. I like the seriousness of it. Its not watered down. Both the investigators and gangs are smart enough. Heck, even the wife was quick witted to come up with a story in front of the bad guy, when she just find out what her husband did. I would have been processing that and be speechless. All sides know what they are doing so far, so it helps in drawing me into their world, back in 90s Seoul. Good job so far.

What’s funny is that I find the violence here appropriate. It doesn’t feel out of place. At the moment, I don’t feel like the crew is showing off their ability to do fight sequences after fight sequences. And there’s a lot of them. I say that because i finished Moving last week, I had a hard time with the violence there. It was so over the top sometimes. It didn’t make sense.

So, good job Ji Chang Wook, Wi Ha Joon, and Im Se-mi. Same to you writer and PD.
