Tbh I could create an entire playlist of songs that this drama reminds me of (or vice versa) but here’s one that’s been stuck in my head now with Lovely Runner scenes running alongside the tune – ENHYPEN’s Polaroid Love! It’s a very breezy, sweet, summer type of song that’d be fitting for the more youthful rom-com scenes in the drama. Especially the line ‘나도 모르게 when you call my name 가슴 아프게 나의 심장이 쿵쿵’ (which translates roughly to ‘Unknowingly, when you call my name, my heart pounds heartbreakingly’ ) is such a Sunjae coded line. In fact the entire song is basically a Sunjae internal monologue.

Honestly the translation is meh because 쿵쿵 is one of my favourite slang phrases (?) in Korean, because it’s onomatopoeia I’m pretty sure, describing a ‘thump thump’ sound. But it’s just so much more sweeter than saying ‘my heart is pounding’ – like taking that lyric above, this idea of hearing someone unknowingly calling your name and your heart goes thump, thump in response? ARHG so cute!!

For someone not watching this drama live yes I do yap about it quite a bit, sue me 🤷‍♀️
