Will love in Spring (ep 17)
These episodes were just so wonderful. After the almost love making which ended in a fight/misunderstanding I really liked how they brought them together eventually. Zhuang Jie’s facade is slowly cracking and we finally see her complexities and her trauma. She may be chirpy and optimistic, but no matter what, her disability still exists and people have hurt her intentionally or otherwise. It was the elephant in the room and the show addressed it beautifully. I especially loved JieJie being vulnerable and finally finding the courage to share her deepest insecurities. My heart broke for her. And then when he insists to take care of her leg and finally when they make love, it felt perfect. Just perfect.
I like how we see a couple working on their relationship. Yes, there is attraction and love. But it takes more than that to make a relationship. It’s just wonderful watching these two as they take a few steps closer to each other.
