    # Live # Cleaning my plate part 1

That ending 😍. Tbh, many times I feel fatigue with the show, mostly because of the plenty “wtf this is so unfair” and “life bites you in the ass when you least expect it” moments. But all the warm tears that I shed throughout the 18-episodes journey really worth it.

This drama gives a biography vibe. It feels like Noh Hee Kyeong ran around Seoul observing and interviewing patrol polices from the nugu rookies, upright lieutenants, sleazy higher-ups to rotten apples. But of course, this must be fictional. So kudos to the writer for successfully convinced me otherwise.

Even though I slightly hoping for an ending that wraps everything in a nice bow, like all the higher-ups miraculously held responsible and got supended instead of Captain Ahn Jang Mi, but I’m more than happy that it stays true to its narrative and slife of life vibe.

    Already missing these rookies.

Yes rookie. Rise from your drunken state, grab that soju bottle and sing your police anthem.

Imo, this drama gives a biography vibe. It feels like Noh Hee Kyeong ran around Seoul observing and interviewing patrol polices from the nugu rookies, upright lieutenants, sleazy higher-ups to rotten apples just to give viewers an insider view of their life. Who am I kidding, this must be a fictional work. So kudos to the writer for convinced me otherwise.

I hardly get into noona couples (especially those using their age gap as an issue to add extra angst), but this do-over noona couple is an exception. They are just so cool and funny together.

If there’s one thing A Poem A Day is excelled at, it’s definitely the poems. The slice of life parts of the drama are good as well, but sometimes they’re overshadowed by the slapstick comedies and at other times they give you all the feels.

Even though it is a happy ending, my heart broken for the other ship that didn’t sail. Can the writer just bring back Woo Bo Young’s doppel ganger?

I guess all the praises for My Ahjusshi have been sung by uri beanies, so to not sound like a broken record, I decide to share my thought soup instead.

I notice a similarity between MA and OHYA. I think the writer re-employed her distinctive plot device: voice recording. I particularly like this device (trope?) because our lead could access the opposite lead’s honest innermost thought which i think might be a little bit awkward to be told face to face, hence the advantage of this device. I feel this is particularly effective to build emotional connection and genuine trust between characters. So writer-nim, I look forward to your next drama will similar build-up.

Pd really elevates everything, hands down. It also makes me wonder whether OHYA will be a healing drama like MA if the pd takes a different directing approach.

Finished with Lawless Lawyer. But seriously though, the court scene in the finale felt anti-climatic, like I could see from a neon away that Ha Jae-yi’s mom will appear. I also find it weird why the writer gives glaring hints to viewers about Nam Soon-ja being filmed by the hidden camera and the lawless gang saved Ha Jae-yi’s mom from being thrown into the ocean. That literally wipes away all possible elements of surprise. But let’s be honest, I’ll probably have drop the drama back then if Ha Jae-yi’s mom die again. So, I sort of glad that it turned out that way.

I think what made the drama enjoyable for me is because I really like the whole assemble and their acting are on point. I seriously can’t get enough of the lawless gang and their antics though.

I like many aspects of the show from the aesthetics cinematography, moody ambience, on-point acting down to the bgms. Tbh, it’s quite a slow burn but the times fly by really quick as I watch it.

At least for me, the drama delivers a satisfying ending. I felt that we run out of happy ending option as how things escalate in the final two eps. So seeing them together in whatever form they might be give me some closure. May their spirit be happily together in the sky with hundred million of stars.

P/S: I’m pretty sure the ending is different from the J dorama ver. Let me know if I’m wrong about it.

I’m expecting the ending won’t surprise me as I spoiled myself with fan theories for the past few days. Nonetheless, I still end the show with a tear fest.
