what in actual freak WHAT DO YOU MEAN. HEY. THAT’S NOT VERY NICE.
1. what do you mean do-han never got to hear soo-ji forgive him. i understand he was going to die, and i expected him to die. i knew he would have to die to redeem himself. but those words that soo-ji said, what do you mean do-han never got to hear them??? “i hated you to death. but i also thank you just as much.” uh, does that mean she thanks do-han to death too? my heart. soo-ji will never forgive do-han over his role in her daughter’s death and do-han knows that too, but yet in a way she has also come past that and she understands and treasures him.

the understanding and (non-romantic) love she feels for do-han doesn’t negate the hate she feels towards him over yoo-na’s death, but they co-exist, and i wish that soo-ji got to tell do-han that, because that would be the most beautiful and satisfying way for soo-ji to allow do-han to redeem himself. that sentence holds forgiveness and understanding as it does not at the same time, aND HOW DARE YOU SHOW. REALLY. do-han’s character arc is not complete without him hearing those words from soo-ji and you just killed him off without two of them speaking to each other one last time? UNACCEPTABLE.

2. secondly, HOW DARE YOU TIME JUMP ME, SHOW. how dare you. i have 938294782019480 unanswered questions, ranging from whether yoon shi-wan survived (he better have survived and is now rotting his life away in a jail cell) to whether or not soo-ji, bo-mi and kyung-soo are still fugitives. ANSWER MY QUESTIONS. to be honest, with the extent of their illegal actions, i don’t think they’re going to only get 1 year in prison. hey, attempted murder is still attempted murder, even if it’s directed at a murderer.

3. how did eun-joong and do-han not end up working together? that flashback scene was not enough, show. how dare you tease me with how wonderful their partnership would have been like if eun-joong’s plan of “working together” did not involve him confessing on behalf of do-han. you hurt my feelings show. if you were not going to make their partnership happen, how dare you make do-han call eun-joong hyung in eun-joong’s imagination? you’re out to hurt me 🙁

“what if we end up growing on each other?” and maybe both the soo-ji and do-han of that time wouldn’t have even expected that statement to hold true, but somehow it did.
however show, you still broke my heart over and over again. somehow i cared for a group of vigilantes who were similarly and yet differently broken, and somehow the group of vigilantes ended up caring for each other (more than they would admit anyways).

In You Are All Surrounded a couple lost their child in an accident. The mom blamed the dad for not having been there sooner. She filed for a divorce very soon after because she couldn’t bear look at his husband’s face any more.

So, although I loved Dohan and Suji’s relationship but I’m sure that there would never ever be any romance or even a simply easy and happy comradeship between them.

I even think that his death was what softened her towards him.

And I don’t think Dohan would have ever forgiven himself to be able to live normally with the two burdens he felt on his shoulders. His guilt towards his brother and his guilt towards Suji.

Not just for Do Han, but for her own sake it would’ve been good to see her forgive him. Forgiving doesn’t have to mean forgetting.

I’m also really annoyed at the time jump, the ending didn’t make much sense. Personally, from very early on I expected Do Han to end up in prison, content with having made the bad guys pay for their crimes and with now having to pay for his own and having to live with the guilt of the wrong he’d done. And probably a semi-long prison sentence for Soo Ji considering she’s a cop yet freaking waved a gun in a kid’s face AT A SCHOOL FULL OF INNOCENT KIDS. And a mild not-necessarily-prison sentence for the two kiddos since they did do a lot of illegal hacking. Maybe pay off their crimes by going whitehat for the government or something lol.
That would’ve been much more realistic, satisfying and in keep with the tone of the show imo. But hey, I’m not the writer and I probably couldn’t write a complex and heartbreaking character like Do Han, so whaddoIknow 😛

SAME as much as I am lowkey tilted at the ending for leaving so many open holes (are they still working illegally???) I still really love the entire drama because the plot + characters were really well written and actually developed

It’s definitely one of my favorites of the year. Well developed characters are so incredibly rare, so for that alone it deserves a standing ovation lol ^^

    OH YOU FINISHED IT!!!
IT’S OK, I FEEL ALL YOUR PAIN!!!
(do you mind if I just send you this? https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fj95kVTKy0RJHG1PewM7DIeRKtR51d3Hpa8QukR80Bw/edit honestly, I’ve said it all in there, how I’d like it to have ended…)
BUT YES, THE FORGIVENESS THING WAS MY MAIN ISSUE TOO.

AHHH I just read it and yes you put everything so beautifully and nicely :”””””””-) the characters really did the drama for me; I think I overlooked all the plot holes because I felt compelled to believe that it was logical due to the characters and the actors’ performances

IDK I hardly feel so much pain for dramas mainly because I’m q unemotional too (LOL) but this drama really broke my heart in so many ways 🙁 I didn’t cry (I might have if they had given me the ending I wanted – I think my emotions were drained out of me during the frustrating last 20 minutes rip) but it hit all the right places for me and sIGh.

*hi5* *another person here who doesn’t feel a lot of pain for dramas* *can’t even remember the last time a show made me cry lol*
But yeah, it’s really heartbreaking yet would’ve been even more so had the characters been given different endings.

Yay- thank you for giving it a read!!!
Yes, I will remember it for it’s characters and not for it’s plot hahaha 😛

*let’s make a club of people who almost never cry in dramas*
I mean the only reason this one made me cry is because AFTERwards I thought of the ending I did want… hahaha woops.
