Now that APAD is officially over, I thought I’d share the one poem I had been waiting all series for to show up but sadly, never did. This is the main poem and inspiration for the poem collection book “It’s Because Your Lonely That You’re Human” that BY leaves in MH’s car way back in episode 1. It’s when he returns this book to her and says that he thought her love of poetry was pretty cool that she falls for him. I thought it was the perfect poem to connect MH and BY since they were both lost lonely souls deep down.

Dear Daffodil- By Jung Ho Seung
My dear, don’t you cry
It’s because you’re lonely that you are human

To live is to withstand loneliness
Don’t uselessly wait for a call that won’t come

When it snows walk on the snowy path
And when it rains walk the rainy path

From within the forest of reeds, the black-chested snipe is also looking at you
And even God sheds tears of loneliness from time to time

It is from loneliness that the birds perch themselves on tree branches
Just as it is loneliness that drives you to be seated at the water’s edge

It is loneliness that draws the mountain’s shadow to fall on the village once a day
And it is loneliness that makes the bell’s sound ring out through the air
