I rooted for you Junhyung. Even as I drew away from kpop, I kept him as a my number one bias. Praised his talent. Listened to his songs…

I’m just so disappointed and sad. *hugs beanies*

I had a feeling it wasn’t going to end well for him being so close to the perpetrator. I wonder if it was a unilateral decision (for him to leave Highlight) or one that all the members agreed to. I have a very pragmatic view of the world and largely unemotional as well. In my mind, he was a bystander. There are real criminals, real corruption, and real victims of this. He’s just a pawn in the whole game, and not even that. What he did I’m sure thousands or hundreds of thousands have done and will continue to do. Of course, it’s still shameful and disgusting, but is it really unforgivable? Just putting that question out there before we crucify every kpop artist on the periphery of this scandal. I’m sure it won’t end well for Roy Kim either. Just waiting for that shoe to drop.

Yeah, I guess it’s not unforgivable but for me it’ll be hard to separate this from his music, even if he was a bystander. I’m disappointed but I’ll get over it soon enough and move on though. Can’t bring myself to stan him again but I appreciate that he spoke up and wish he sincerely accepts whatever punishment necessary, whether it’s legally and/or morally.

And you know…I’ve never bought the ‘star persona’ of celebrities 100% anyway. I’m sure this mindset saved me additional disappointment.

Me neither. Well, except if Park Bo Gum or Gong Yoo ever fall from grace, there no hope for humanity.

Thanks Ally! This is exactly how I feel.

actually, its not that he spoke up out of guilt, his name has been doing the rounds, evidence is there framing him of being a knowledgeable party.. there really was no escape.. this step is good i think from legal perspective and plead guilty, seek leniency..

people are crucified for much less.. and he isn’t even RICH Seungri to save himself..

Ally may I gently say I disagree with you? Because I’m not a fan, it’s so much easier for me to disagree, and for that – I apologize.

He didn’t have to be the hero exposing JJY, but the fact that he knew and saw videos and commented inappropriately and stayed friends with JJY says a lot about his character. These are not ordinary videos right? They’re of sexual assault and rape.

You’re right – he may be forgiven by fans and the public eventually. But what he has done isn’t a small thing. At best he’s an enabler – that’s the kindest word I can find.

Totally agree with you. Watching and commenting on this videos/illicit acts is enabling sexual violence. He doesn’t deserve a pat on the back for doing the bare minimum.

True, I agree he certainly has a character problem, and I agree that they aren’t “ordinary” videos likely either. I have a feeling what he watched was also back in 2015 of the sex tape the public already knew about which was just filmed without the consent of the woman, not necessarily rape. It’s just a conjecture. But is any sex tape ordinary? What are people really watching when they watch these? I’m sure there is a lot of coercion going on regardless. He should be ashamed and I sincerely hope he loses sleep and money over this, he pays some type of penance, and does something to make up for his indiscretions, hopefully for the victims and their plight. This is much bigger than these kpop stars though. The are just the tip of the iceberg.

This is from the past case right? Seriously I’m so sad, mad and ashame. But he confess anything that he know, even when he stay away from JJY since 2016 or since JJY sent him a hidden cam video, he still wrong about thinking that JJY and hidden cam are not a big problem.
I just hope that he keep stay with AU Entertainment, he is one of the CEO and accompany Highlight in the future.
