My Country OST “Farewell” This is hauntingly beautiful.

Let my eyes bid farewell to her For my mouth no longer can. Hard, how hard is this loss to bear Despite my being a man!
To sadness in this hour grown older Does love’s sweet forfeit belong, For the kiss from your mouth is now colder And your handclasp no longer strong.
No more a mouth so easily turned O what delights it gave me! Like those that the violet earned When plucked in March so early.
But now, I gather no flounces, No further roses in bloom. Spring is the season, dear Frances But for me, alas, it is autumn.
I’m a huge fan of Johann Wolfgang Van Goethe, so this was such a nice surprise, I love this!
Didn’t expect anyone would know the poet. I’m glad to see an actual Beanie fan here ☺️
