Ah Young debuted with Dal Shabet in 2011 with the extended play Supa Dupa Diva. That same year, they made a guest appearance in the hit KBS2 series Dream High. This was followed by another cameo in the 2012 romantic comedy film Wonderful Radio. In June 2012, the group released their debut studio album Bang Bang, which featured 14 tracks. In 2013, Ah Young landed her first solo acting gig in the KBS2 series Ad Genius Lee Tae-baek. She then joined the 2013 SBS sageuk Jang Ok-jung, Live by Love. In 2014, she appeared in JTBC’s 12 Years Promise and MBC’s Records of a Night Watchman. In 2018, she was cast as the female lead in the KBS2 morning soap opera Waves,Waves.
Ah Young attended Dongduk Women’s University.
