Jung Ji-so debuted as a child actress in 2012, playing the young counterpart of Sohn Eun-seo’s character in MBC’s May Queen. Her work in the series earned her a Best Young Actress nomination at the MBC Drama Awards. In 2013, she was once again nominated for Best Young Actress at the KBS Drama Awards for her performance in Sword and Flower and TV Novel: Samsaengi. That same year, she played the young version of Ha Ji-won’s character in the hit MBC sageuk Empress Ki. Her career breakthrough came in 2019 when she became part of director Bong Joon-ho’s acclaimed black comedy thriller film Parasite. The movie won numerous accolades, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards. In 2020, she starred in the tvN supernatural horror drama The Cursed, which scored her a Best New Actress nomination at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards.
