Park Joo-mi started her career as a model for Asiana Airlines before making her acting debut in 1991. Some of her early works include the Sunday morning family drama Three Families Under One Roof in 1994 and the sageuk biopic Heo Jun in 1999. In 2001, she joined the main cast of SBS’s Ladies of the Palace before going into a hiatus to focus on her married life. She made an acting comeback in 2010 with the thriller film Man of Vendetta. In 2011, she became part of the KBS2 weekend drama Believe in Love, which earned her an Excellence Award nomination at the KBS Drama Awards. In 2012, she was involved in a car crash in North Gyeongsang, forcing her to leave the KBS1 weekend sageuk King’s Dream prematurely. In 2021, she starred in TV Chosun’s hit melodrama Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce), which spawned three seasons. She was nominated for a Top Excellence Award at the 8th APAN Star Awards for her performance in the series.


Park Joo-mi married a businessman named Lee Jang-won in 2001. They have two sons together.
