Song Jong-ho began his entertainment career as a model before debuting as an actor in the 1999 KBS2 series Invitation. His career breakthrough came in 2007 when he appeared in the hit SBS medical drama Surgeon Bong Dal Hee, which won him the New Star Award at the SBS Drama Awards. That same year, he starred in the SBS series Golden Bride. In 2009, he acted alongside Go Soo and Han Ye-seul in the SBS melodrama Will It Snow for Christmas. In 2011, he joined the main cast of the well-received KBS2 sageuk The Princess’s Man, which earned him a Best New Actor nomination at the KBS Drama Awards. In 2012, he played one of the main characters in tvN’s popular series Answer Me 1997. In 2016, he scored an Excellence Award nomination at the KBS Drama Awards for the daily series Heaven’s Promise. In 2020, he was cast in JTBC’s Was It Love.


Song Jong-ho attended Pyeongtaek University, where he majored in computer statistics.
