Roundup 2023. Day 22. Free choice. Best cinematography.
The best cinematography this year (imo) goes to three dramas:
The Matchmakers. The light in this show is beautiful, somehow it reminds me of the Mediterranean light. It’s really impressive and there are plenty of outdoors locations too. It’s a joy to watch.
My Dearest cinematography was outstanding in each and every frame.
Call it Love. I’m not a fan of the pink filter, but it’s undeniable that it is a stylish show.
Gorgeous picks!!! Matchmakers is an artistic masterpiece, and I was continually impressed with the spare, architectural style of the framing of Call it Love. ❤️
You’re so right. Most western movies are so much CGI-ed these days that one would be lucky to get a single memorable shot that is just “beautiful”. Cinema is a visual medium after all. The dramas are either indoors or concentrate more on dialogues than visual storytelling. The beauty of the visual storytelling is very much emphasized in Asian dramas. Extremely engaging.
I’m sure the freestyle extends to the dates too! 🤣
No worries, the pictures in your header post are so beautiful I doubt anyone notice your day count. 😀

Totally agree.
Both shows, though so different, are visually impressive.

Amy random scene from these dramas looks like a painting!! Even Destined With You had some picturesque shots.
