I’m finished a book called Daily Harvest which is a Christian cozy. It was cute. I’ll read the rest. I read a really good series the first being Death, Jazz, and a Really Fine Man. It’s a 3 book series and it was good. A woman joined a cult and only left after the leader beat her baby out of her (it was the cult leaders baby) and now she’s out of the cult and slowly entering this relationship with this man. I’ve always said I didn’t want to date until I fixed my self esteem and the last book in this series is a really good example why. She just can’t bring herself to believe thatafter everything she’s been through after everything they’ve been through together she can’t believe that he really loves her and her disbelief repeatedly almost destroys her relationship. She becomes really frustrating but SO RELATABLE! And then I just finished the latest jd Robb book (that series has GOT to be winding down—this is the 54th book in the series! The initial premise is a cop falls in love with a criminal. Roarke stops all his criminal activities by the 3rd book and we haven’t even seen him use his illegal computer since the middle of the series. Even the poorest characters are now living like millionaires!)
And I’m halfway through Amelia Unabridged and I’m frankly not sure what I think about this book. It’s a YA. A girls best friend that she’s been best friends with since she was 8 dies suddenly in a car accident. She’s been embraced by her friends family. Amelia’s life is pretty terrible. Her parents divorce and her mom basically becomes an alcoholic. The friend–Jenna– her parents start including Amelia in everything. Family photos, vacations, trips abroad. All of it. If Jenna is going then so is Amelia. The one time Amelia doesn’t go is when Jenna goes out of the country for her post high school trip. Amelia stayed behind. They had a huge fight right before Jenna leaves and don’t quite make up before she leaves. While Jenna is gone she does and a few days later Amelia gets a book that shouldn’t exist and she becomes CONVINCED that it’s somehow from the dead Jenna. So she goes across the country to this dinky town that is the only place the book could have come from and she is invited to stay in this stranger’s guest room and is going on long drives in country roads with strangers. It’s interesting it feels like a fairytale about grief and that’s the only way I can read it because otherwise I’m going to rip my hair out–why is she sleeping in this total strangers house? Why is she getting in this total strangers car while he takes her somewhere she doesn’t know? She’s not suicidal but she’s making highle questionable choices.
I’m also reading a book, Act Your Age Eve Brown! It’s cute so far

I love the JD Robb series but I’m still so far from finishing it. I can’t believe how far she is still going, some books are more interesting than others.
I think I got up to the book where Morris, his partner gets murdered? He is grieving from that but in all honesty I read the books out of order anyway! Amelia needs to keep away from strangers house and car, I hate scenarios like that because I’m so aware of the dangers the character is putting herself in. I finished reading Circe and its a great modern retelling of the Greek heroes. Would highly recommend.

I like Talia Hibert books, I don’t think I’ve read that one. I think the one I read was The princess trap but then I don’t think it was the best novel. I think I want to like it so much because it is written by a black woman and the female character is a black woman, but something about the romance/execution falls short.
