13. Arts

Her private life

Is this too stretched? Probably. But the FL works for an art gallery and the ML is an artist, so… (and I haven’t watched another drama that fits better…)

This drama has its flaws, but I liked Kim Jae-wook as a romantic ML, and loved the healthy couple.

12 – A book you love but hate at the same time

“Fairytales” by H.C. Andersen

My aunt gave me this book when I was very young. I loved reading and it was my treasure, but some stories were really sad, and “Red shoes” scared me so much, that I couldn’t move after having read it (I was very, very young).

Some years ago I reread the book and I liked it more, above all the writing.

12. Family

It’s okay to not be okay

I’ve never watched a family drama, but THIS family is in my heart.

11 – A book you hated

“The left hand of God” by Paul Hoffman

A boy I was giving private lessons to, wanted to lend me this book. He wasn’t a reader, and was so enthusiastic about this story, that I had no heart to say no or to drop the novel whan I found out I didn’t like it.
And then he lent me the other two books. Because of course it was a trilogy…

11. Comedy

My fellow citizens

This drama was very fun, and Kim Min-jung as Park Hoo-ja was the best villain ever. I loved her.

10 – A book that reminds you of home

“Pride and prejudice” by Jane Austen.

This book doesn’t reminds me of my real home, but everytime I open it, I feel like being in a familiar and cozy place.

10. Slice of life

Just between lovers

The leads were perfect, they really seemed people you could meet on the bus or in a store.

09 – A book you thought you wouldn’t like but ended up loving

“Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”, “Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets”, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”.

The Harry Potter saga is my younger sister’s favorite. I brought her to buy the new book when it was out, and I read some pages making different voices when she was too tired to continue, but I never wanted to read them. I feared I would find them childish or boring.
Many years later, finally my sister managed to convince me to read the whole saga, and I… liked it.
I have read The Deathly Hallows for 5 hours without stopping (and I was studying for an exam back then…).

The 3 above are my favorites.

9. School

Extra-ordinary you

I don’t usually love school dramas, but this was interesting for its main theme – free will – and I liked the irony towards old dramas and tropes and the historic manwha. In addition, Dan-oh and Ha-ru were adorable as a couple, and I loved their friendship with Do-hwa.

08 – Most overrated book

“The lord of the rings” by J.R.R. Tolkien

I read this book last year, and I had trouble finishing it. I liked very much the battles, but there weren’t so many; I found some chapters very boring.

8. Office/Legal

Since I have already made a post about Search:WWW, I’ll choose Touch your heart.
It’s not the best rom-com, but I found it adorable.

07 – A book that makes you laugh

“Elinor and Marianne” by Emma Tennant

When I read a lot, before this endless book slump, I was rather the boring type, so, even if I’ve serached and searched among my books, I haven’t found one that makes me laugh.

So I have choosen this, that is a sequel to Jane Austen’s “Sense and sensibility” and that is so pointless and ridiculous that could make one laugh. Reasons with spoilers in the comment.

7. Medical/Hospital

It’s ok, that’s love

I binge-watched this last month, when I had some free days. It’s a nice drama, and I liked very much the way they told psychiatric illnesses.
It’s not among my 10 favorites, but I’ll gladly rewatch it some day.

06 – A book that makes you sad

“Elizabeth is missing” by Emma Healey

Almost the whole story is told by Maud, a woman with dementia. She keeps forgetting and forgetting, and writes on tons of notes the most important thing: her dear friend Elizabeth is missing, and she has to find her.
But then Maud finds herself in a shop, in a street, and doesn’t remember the reason why she is there…
heartbreaking.

6. Mystery

Children of nobody

Except for a little thing I didn’t like, this was really a masterpiece.I remember I suspected everyone, even the leads, and it was so much fun discussing it with you beanies!

05 – A book that makes you happy

“Miss Pettigrew lives for a day” by Winifred Watson

This was the first e-book I bought years ago, and I remember I was so happy reading it, that I started suggesting everyone to read it (spoiler: no one did it).
It’s like a short fairytale for adults, that put a smile on my face.
The movie was a disappointment.

5. Time travel

Tomorrow, with you

This is the only time travel I’ve watched (I have 365 on my watch list; any other suggestions, beanies?).
It was ok in its first half, the scenes between the leads were nice and I liked Shin Min-a, but it isn’t unforgettable.

04 – Favorite book of your favorite series

The song of ice and fire in my country was split into 12 books (it’s crazy, I know), so I have more than one favorite. I’ll choose “A storm of swords”, which tells about the red wedding and Daenerys called “mother” by the people.

03 – Your favorite series

“A song of Ice and Fire” by George R.R. Martin

I have read very few series, but I remember I was hooked to this back then. I doubt I would like it, if I read it now: too much violence.

4. Historical

The crowned clown

Actually it’s my first and only sageuk, so I’m “a little” biased when I say that I liked it very much. I feared the angst, but it was good even for my weak heart. And Yeo Jin-Goo’s acting was superb.
