Ahhh kdrama ML trauma has arrived. I love this drama so much.

    Once we got there, I was like, well duh, makes sense! But up until 3.96% of the way through the first four episodes I thought he was just there in the plot to be sweet 😂 Seems like hyung is a psycho who traumatized little Sung Hoon and now has some sort of hold over him…

    I love this drama so much too!!! All of the pacing is working really well for me – the hour and sixteen minutes just flies by

      100%, but I honestly really appreciate how they use tropes, but I am not at all annoyed by them, it just works in this drama. I think it is meant to keep the misunderstandings at a minimum, which I am here for.

        I agree with you – the tropes are working well so far! This reminds me of a Beanie conversation a while back that boiled down to, it’s not the tropes, it’s how they’re executed. And they’re being executed well so far!!

          The magic is not in the tropes but their execution.
          We want and love our comfort food for the soul tropes in drama which are cooked just right – crunchy golden brown.

      Ooh, is this going to be sort of like What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim where older brother is actually the one at fault but has managed to shift all the blame to younger sibling? And in this case the family is letting him because they feel sorry about his injury? Except … what if he’s faking that too?

        That’s exactly what I’m wondering!!!

        OOOh good question, he just might be faking it. He uses it as a charm offensive and his inferiority complex. I’m curious what he is so bitter about. Was he adopted? Is he a step child or illegitimate?

          @kafiyahbello @marysadanaga re: WWWSK – there could also be other shenanigans going on; not that this is conclusive or anything, but the actor playing the older brother is six years younger than Sung Hoon…

            Well if any show could pull off that potential storyline, this one could. Hmmm 🤔 have to square that away with the boat flashback. Was Do-gook actually the “hyung” in the water? Perhaps ML and FL will both turn out to be rightful inheritors of family empires.

            @Peach, it won’t tag, ughhg.

            OOOH, what if it isn’t the Hyung in the water. Well in DG’s case his grandma wanted to give him the company anyway, he just didn’t want it.
