Kim Ji-hoon returns with another lawyer role

Kim Ji-hoon played a smart lawyer in the fluffy romantic comedy Love & Marriage, and now he’s been cast as another lawyer in the upcoming SBS drama Pick the Stars [별을 따다줘], opposite Han Ji-hye.
The drama draws a love story between two co-workers at an insurance company, with Kim playing the company’s whip-smart lawyer. Because he carries the hurt of having been abandoned by his birth mother, he doesn’t easily open his heart to others. The female lead is a 25-year-old employee of the company who becomes responsible for her five younger adopted siblings after her parents meet with sudden deaths.
Although his previous characters have generally been in the “romantic guy” mold, Kim’s lawyer here is described as a cold “homme fatale.” He said of his character, “I’ll show him changing from a bad guy who doesn’t believe he can love into a person who falls in love.”
The drama is set to air on SBS on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning January 2010. Interestingly, it is set for the same premiere date as medical sageuk series Jejoongwon — for the first time ever, SBS will air two prime-time drama series on Monday and Tuesday. Originally, this was supposed to follow weekend show Smile, but when that show got extended 16 episodes, they moved this to follow Angel’s Temptation instead.

It sounds a bit cliched, but the “homme fatale” aspect is interesting. Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for Dramabeans.
Sounds interesting. I’ll have to tune in. Hopefully this isn’t one of those dramas with the over-reacting female lead. That’s definitely something that would ruin the drama for me.
“Because he carries the hurt of having been abandoned by his birth mother, he doesn’t easily open his heart to others.”
I think I’ve heard that not only once, but many times. Well, it workes as a cliche, so why not? Might tune in if there’s nothing else good that night.
This sounds quite interesting, and not only because KJH The Second is starring,
but also because of the “five younger adoptive siblings”.
im excited..because KJH is love..i love him with the clean cut look..
I love this guy into bits when I watched him in Love & Marriage. Will watch your new drama!!! After ogling at a band member (*whispers* Shin Woo), I will ogle at a lawyer next year. Lol!
Reowr, KHJ the younger as a bad-boy lawyer. I loves. Can’t wait to see him back in a drama.
YaY. I really don’t care if the story is clichéd…I loved him in Flowers for my life.
Did I get it right, is he the lead in Pick the stars?
Another character abandoned by his birth mother.
But…ooh, Kim Ji Hoon… he is better than this turkey I’m eating right now. Yum!
omg hes sooo hottt!!!!
lol
i cant wait to see him as a bad boyyy
it sounds like Partner to me : )
why does it feel like YAB meet love marriage = pick the stars.
TK meet mr. sauve lawyer
why doesn everything looks like yab
why must i compare everything with JGS
i guess this is the curse: everything has to meet the standards of yab.
Every man must look, act, talk like jgs.
And the addiction continues…
@ 12 raahmose
LOL, ur hvg it bad…real badddd…
anyhow, this doesnt sounds like a straight rom-com, i’m not really into Han Ji-hye – but he’s cute (one of the reason I watched GAODIL), so i might give this drama try..
he is Goo hye sun boy friend,,,, they best couple,,…
YES, PERFECT! Another thing to look forward to~
Thanks for sharing this news, javabeans!
“Because he carries the hurt of having been abandoned by his birth mother, he doesn’t easily open his heart to others.”
’cause i’m still suffering from you’re beautiful withdrawal, the first thing i thought when i read this was “OMG TOTAL RIPOFF OF TAEKYUNG’S STORY”
then i realized it’s always been a long overused cliche. man, i really need to get a life and stop thinking about YB D:
I love me some Kim Ji-hoon alright….the plot isn’t exactly stirring but worth checking out. The whole double primetime thing SBS is trying out sure sounds interesting.
