If this photo didn’t come with a caption, I wouldn’t be able to recognize the star — namely, Kim So-yeon of SBS’s Prosecutor Princess. (Even knowing who it is, it’s still difficult to see her in the images.)
Kim’s drama character Ma Hye-ri is currently slender and fashionable, but she wasn’t always so — at one point she weighed 90 kg (nearly 200 lbs). This was back when she was still a student, and also explains why her mother makes it a habit to weigh her even now.
The scenes featuring the formerly overweight Hye-ri were filmed on April 11 at the Dongkuk University campus and required special makeup and padding, made of Gore-Tex fabric and urethane foam, as well as silicone to fill out the face. These scenes will air in this week’s episodes, which broadcast on the 14th and 15th.

She does not look like 200lbs, but 300. They over did it.
I actually am (for an hormonal problem) 80Kg, and I’m no where so big, expecially the hands. My hand are just normal.
Well maybe I’m a bit taller than her, but still she seems a little bit too heavy to be “just” 90kg
I don’t get why they had to be so specific about HR’s weight. It just makes people more scared of being a bit overweight/normal, if you’re “supposed” to look like that at 90 kg.
My mother, who looks completely normal, just a bit round around the hips, weights a bit over 80 kg. She absolutely does not look like that. It’s ridiculous.
Wow, this new side of Ma Haeri just makes her more lovable! Not only does she have flaws, she has a past that she probably wants to hide. I love this drama most out of the 3 Wed/Thurs. dramas. The chemistry, light humor and acting make me love this drama so much more. Kim So Yeon ftw!

I have to say I had an inclination she used to be heavy. I thought the weighing was strange but when I saw the binge eating I started to suspect she used to be heavy.

All the skinny-to-fat transformations look similar.. Hanna in 200 Pound Beauty, Karl in Frog Prince etc… At first I thought I saw Hanna in the picture
I think she is suffering from bulimia too ;p I remembered in one episode she did throw up in the toilet bowl…
This makes me sad. Hands don’t get that fat at all (just a little pudgy) and I am well over 200 pounds and much shorter and don’t look like that. : /
What a transformation! I do not think it is necessary to become too fat like that. It is the over-acting. No impression on that fatty face (make up too much, fill too much to make fatty face). I’m disappointed with PP.
I highly recommended this PP drama… to be honest i already watched it three times already LOL.. i love KSY and PSH chemistry together.. they looked so match one another.. i begin to hope they became couple in real life LOL
