Choi Jung-won displayed a cute, bubbly charm — and shorter hair — in her last drama, SBS’s family-friendly Wish Upon a Star, but she goes feminine and extravagant for her latest photo spread. She’s featured in fashion mag Marie Claire, styled in the concept of a “goddess.” (I don’t really see the goddess aspect of it, but it is very pretty.)
Choi has taken a break after her drama wrapped earlier this year, and this is the first we’ve seen of her since.
Choi Jung-won had previously had a heavier image from her previous dramas like Kingdom of the Wind, and she wasn’t necessarily known for her acting skills, but she turned that around in Wish Upon a Star. She’d always been known for being attractive, but she gained new respect and fans (myself included) with her winning portrayal of 25-year-old Pal-gang, who comes to realize her Cinderella fantasy was rubbish and pulls herself up by the bootstraps. (It didn’t hurt that her brood of colorfully named siblings were adorable scene-stealers.)

i… don’t get the huge peacocky-necklace-thingy she has on in the first pic.. but aside from that— dress/shoe envy!!
I like her but everything is wrong about these shots. The clothes, setting and the pose. I love the dress in the last picture but it’s ruined by the angle of the shot. It’s making her leg look distorted. The tiered red dress makes her look like lampshade.
WUAS was so fun ….I miss the kids especially baby Nami.
I love how they made her a part of the room, like she is part of the furniture istead of framing the room around her like they usually do.
She is very pretty. That’s true. You could say that she wanted to show a different side of herself through this fashion spread. Maybe she wanted to show elegance, class and that she likes fashion as well. But, with the long wavy hair, her style is reminiscent of so many other celebrities, namely Jung Ryeo Won, Chae Jung Ahn, Lee Bo Young. They all have long wavy hair. If she wanted to distinguish herself from others, this photoshoot was not the way to go. There’s no harm in doing a fashion spread, but when everyone looks alike, the charm gets lost. The only way to, ‘redeem’ yourself, make yourself stand out is through your acting.
That said, she is really very pretty.
i can only see the “goddess” aspect in the second photo with the red dress – she looks amazing! definitely like her better with long hair. i’m glad to see her doing something though – and i hope she does more comedic roles in the future. kingdom of the wind was so blah…

I see more of a rich heiress than a goddess. That said, first picture is my favorite.
i dont really see the goddess part either. especially in the last pic, with the shades and polka dots. the shots are all very pretty, no doubt, but the concept doesnt strike me as “goddess-y.”

I agree I became fond of CJW after WUAS too. The drama itself however lost its magic towards the end when it became Jae-young-centric.
Would love to see CJW in a new project sometime soon-ish.

she’s pretty and resembles Choi Ji Woo but her eyes is too done up …the double eye lid line is too visible even when she close her eyes….ended up scrutinizing her eyes whenever there were close up shots in WUAS besides the shaved forehead of KJH that is….
