Yoochun undergoes training for suspense thriller Three Days

It took some doing (and some false starts), but we finally have a first look at SBS’s upcoming condensed-time thriller Three Days. These pictures aren’t from the drama itself, but since they come from training sessions specific to the show, I can finally believe the show is happening. (With all the fuss over it possibly not getting its timeslot and/or losing a lead or two, I was gonna need some proof before allowing myself to get excited about the drama.)
These photos feature the drama’s lead, Park Yoochun, who plays the presidential bodyguard who takes the lead in the search party when the president (played by Sohn Hyun-joo) mysteriously disappears from his villa amid gunshots. Bodyguarding at such elite ranks means Yoochun will have to beef up his fighting and defense skills, so he’s been undergoing training to get in prime condition. (How cute is it that the superstar is wearing a nametag to tell people his name is Park Yoochun, as though we wouldn’t know otherwise?)
The drama, written by the Ghost and Sign scriptwriter Kim Eun-hee and directed by Tree With Deep Roots’ Shin Kyung-soo, also stars Park Ha-sun, So Yi-hyun, Yoon Je-moon, and Choi Won-young. It will follow current rom-com hit You From Another Star and premieres on February 26.

SO happy to hear some progress on this upcoming drama! At least I can assure myself it's still alive...
Three Days has a lot to live up too since SBS has been holding up the no.1 spot for Wed/Thu dramas for months now.

Yeah. But i wouldn't say the other networks are all at a loss.
MBC is dominating the mon/tues slot for Empress Ki and KBS is dominating Sat/Sun with Wang's Family. Each network has a ratings winner. But it's still pretty amazing how SBS has been dominating for 7 months now (IHYV aired in early june) except for that small time Secret came on top.

i thought i heard this drama is mon-tue drama before, so they change it, compete in mon-tue too riskie i guess empress ki rating is really high n it's long drama esp. when this drama is big budget, if they didn't change it after the problem

Ow thank you for that comment! I went to the dentist right after reading this article. And well it was painful and at some point I forced myself to think of happy/funny thoughts and your comment came to my mind, felt much better and i couldn't actually out loud cuz the dentist had his hands in my mouth so I laughed very good inside.

And I thought he acquitted himself quite well in I Miss You.
What I saw of RoofTop, he was fine - very funny, even - but I didn't like the story itself enough to stick with it.
I'm not going to rank him in there with an actor at the top of his game or even one of the rising stars, but I definitely think he holds his own at the worst and does more than a good enough job at his best. He's come far from SKKS.

For me, Yoochun crying scenes destroy me. I can't watch the first episode of Rooftop Prince without tears. I've never seen another actor who so tore me up with his tears. I did research after that to learn more about the actor's life because you don't deliver a scene like that without having experienced real pain.
I watch him not for his looks (which are fine but don't tickle my fancy) but for the way he can do both humor and sadness. I connect with his performance.
We all have our opinions, just wanted to balance the acting lessons comment with my perspective. I do believe Yoochun has room for improvement, I believe that about many young actors, but I will watch anything that he appears in.

i agree. moreover, as a korean myself i understand whatever he is saying. in rooftop prince, he had to act out the old accent that koreans used to have and it was perfect. i love him as an actor

I wouldn't say that. So he's not the best, but he's had only a few credits to his name. Even in Sungkyunkwan Scandal, he managed to sufficiently convey the gravitas that was required of his character without overacting. (Acting opposite Lee Soon-jae probably helped. xD)
I'd watch him over, say, Mr Hand Towel any day, My Princess notwithstanding.

I'm usually first in line when it comes to criticizing idol actors, but even I find Yoochun tolerable. He was lucky to find a part that required stiff introversion in Sung/Scandal, he built on that with a little humor and some tears in Rooftop (which I couldn't get into, but it was the writing more than the acting that did me in) and Missing You was overacted but OK for a potboiler. I can think of many who are worse: Lee Joon, Taecyeon, Changmin, Yoochun's brother (talk about riding in one someone's coattails)... I sense some improvement, so I'm willing to give him a nod.

i don't think three days will continue to conquer wed-thurs slot. its likely inspiring generation will get no.1 spot consider how their rating keep inreasing. they should choose another drama which has potential to be big hit rather than three days.

I think inspiring generation will definitely skyrocket in ratings after YFAS finishes airing. I think it's got a lot of potential to be good and appeal the way gaksital did. it got a 2% increase from ep.2 so it seems the korean audience is intrigued.

but i was surprised, the 4th ep fell back down from 9,1 to 7,9. but miss korea also fell as well, only YFAS climb up to 26,4%.

I personally don't think he has a baby face but I'm with maldita in that I also can't see Buff Yoochun just because he's never been buff in all of his years in showbiz and doesnt seem like the type that likes to build his body up.

^^ Yoochun's acting is already really good. Yes, he do have the tendency to over-act at times (especially during a comedic scene or a breaking down scene) but every great actor have gone at that phase during their career even Lee Jun Ki (who i absolutely love and follows almost all his dramas) tends to over-act at times especially during his Iljimae and TBDAW days and he also started with a stiff acting in 'My Girl' were he gets so much criticism but as time pass by he evolves and now i can say that he is so much better as an actor and his acting is really great already. Even popular actors like Lee Seung Gi, Lee Min Ho, Kim Bum, Song Joong Ki, Lee Jong Suk and yes even amazing actors like Joo Won & Kim Soo Hyun, i have all seen them over-act at some of their past dramas. Because that is just part of the phase of being a great actor. Acting is a learning processes, you become better and better as time pass by. As long as you have the talent and passion for it then you have what it takes to be a great actor. And i believe Yoochun has it, he have continuously improve from his past works. He gets better in every drama i saw him in. I didn't even like Yoochun until i saw him act in SKKS, he was my least favorite member in DBSK before. And i can honestly say that it was his acting and potentials as an actor that made me like him, not his looks, or his singing or dancing or whatever (but just to be clear i am not saying he was not a good singer or idol okay, i just thought that Jaejoong & Junsu was clearly the better singers).
About the ratings, well we don't really know what will happen. By the time YWCFTS ends, Age of Feeling will already be on it's 12th episode (and that is if YWCFTS do not extends) and yes it could possibly go to Top 1 spot but we can't say for certain since korean netizens seems skeptical about watching the drama even if the story is good because of KHJ & the lead actress. We can't say they won't watch Three Days either because if the story is great and got the audience attention then they will surely tune in not to mention Yoochun atleast got a way better reviews in acting that KHJ same for the lead actresses and the cast is great as well. So there is a chance that it will maintain #1. And i think people already forgot about this but HEIRS LOSE in ratings in it's first 12 episodes and only climb to #1 after Secrets ends.
Let's just wait and see what will happen here. Remember 'I Hear Your Voice' was also said to flop or got really low ratings but hey they got #1 and such high ratings and good reviews. And Heirs who was said to be a landslide winner because of it's star studded cast & popular writer & director loses in ratings for more than half it's run (12 episodes) by a drama who was said to flop or be the last place on it's timeslot which is Secrets. So anything is possible, let's not be so certain that this will not do well.
Criticizing is one thing but hating is in a whole different level. Let's all wait and see how Yoochun & this drama will do!

Auw...he's wearing a nametag..How cute isn't it? I can see he is seriously serious learning now how to be a real president bodyguard..It's good to know too how committed was he, learning to be a better actor and always challenged himself with a different roles in all his dramas..
I enjoyed You From Another Star & Inspiring Generation so much right now but still I can't wait to watch this show as well^^

Ehe, I don't know, maybe because I have a soft spot to DBSK? But I'm so giddy watching Micky doing his homework to hone his craft.
From all old DBSK's member, I think he's the one with most talent in acting, at least he have a natural chemistry with his lead lady and seeing his projects until now, I think he's improved.
I don't know about rating whatsoever, but true that until now IG is intriguing and griping writing and acting with awesome cinematography, and if IG keeping like this, I'm sure there'll more and more people watching it.
So, it's back to Three Days team production, can they do a good job or not. We'll see

I am looking forward to this too. I am a bit ambivalent about YC (or his acting, rather), but I am so looking forward to the writing/directing team's work. And the premise sounds intriguing and could give us some good nail biting hours if done right. So fighting!

Huazzah, my favorite young Korean actor is back! He's not that pretty and based on the comment section--not an acclaimed acting genius. But like a moth to a flame, there's something about Yoochun that enthralls me ever since Sunkyundkwan Scandal.
I am super duper excited and hope that this drama delivers.

I've only seen Yoochun in Sungkyunkwan Scandal. He was fine, fit his character nicely.
I like Park Ha Sun, but haven't seen much of her work. I hope these two really wow me in this drama.

haha it's not like he'll do all the action at once, all i know in action movie actors did one scene, cut, other scene, cut. what make it good or not is the editing. good acting but if the editing awful can make the scene look like a joke.

As a fan of Korean dramas for 15 years and saw many good actors, Yoochun's definitely has something that makes me likes him and always want to see all his projects..I love his acting, he can do saeguk, modern chaebol, comical, melodrama [which for me I don't expect he can do well] so I like how he challenged himself to play an action drama this time..I do think he already beat some proper actors IMO..I give him a credit for all his efforts so far, for having some training, gun shooting, martial arts..Wish him all the best for 3 Days..Fighting Yoochun ah^^ surprise us ;)

Ratings - high or low. Who cares? I, for one, don't judge a drama simply by it's ratings. I've seen some recent KDramas which hit high ratings but to me are just MEHs.
Gotta admit though, this drama might not be a of a popular genre, but still...... Three Days fighting!!!
