Eric and Jung Yumi confirm Discovery of Romance

The reunion bug is officially an epidemic this year. Jung Yumi (God of the Workplace) and Eric (Myung-wol the Spy) have both confirmed the new KBS romantic comedy Discovery of Romance, where they’ll play–wait for it–reunited lovers. How’s that for art imitating life? The ex-costars of 2007’s Que Sera Sera will be reigniting some sparks onscreen, though ideally in a happier context. In the words of javabeans: “Let’s hope their romance is functional this time.”

The new rom-com reunites Jung Yumi with the writer of the cable franchise I Need Romance, and Eric has been cast as the ex-boyfriend who reenters her life while she’s dating a new guy. This writer seems inordinately fixated on the perpetually breaking up and re-dating couple, so the setup seems a bit obvious, but then most rom-com plots are, at least on paper. The good news is that these actors have chemistry together, which goes a long way.

Jung Yumi has signed on to play the furniture designer whose current relationship hits a snag when Eric the ex reenters the picture. Eric plays the president of an interior design company, so they’ll undoubtedly be connected through her work. He’s described as a smart, confident man with a strong competitive edge who always gets what he wants. But when it comes to relationships, he’s a hopeless romantic. The drama will be about each of them discovering what true love is as they reunite.

Discovery of Romance follows Trot Lovers on Mondays and Tuesdays this August.

I am right there with you. As nonfunctional as their relationship was, QSS is still in my top 5 drama favs, and that's saying a lot 'cause I am not a big Eric fan.

Let's be thankful to the team that re-united KSH and JJH thereby kick-starting this reunion fever. It's about time K-ent mined some chemistry goldmine like Bollywood does. Shahrukh Khan and Karol starred in 6 movies together, all of them huge blockbusters because of their amazing chemistry.

i am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO looking forward to this!!! finally Eric accepts a KBS drama, after turning Golden Cross (which 'im watching) and Trot Lovers (which i will be watching).

this sounds really good too - especially coming from the writers of the INL series. i hope it's great!!

Personally, I love Eric's style in QSS. But maybe for CEO role, suits and more formal clothes are needed. But yeah, I agree with Jung yumi's style. She actually really pretty girl. I prefer her longer hair.

Though Eric is too hot for Jung Yumi (don't kill me...Yumi's fans^^), but their chemistry was superb in QSS. Isn't Eric a CEO of company too? It means he'll act as himself then. Both are good actors. Good luck and let me enjoy their insane chemistry one more time

See, I love this because, out of all the reunited pairings, I think they are a couple most in need of a second shot at a more functional romance. I loved Que Sera Sera, but probably loved the cute, unconventional chemistry between Eric and Jung Yumi even more, and always wanted to watch them in something a litttttttle less dark. Hopefully, this will be good and they will be as charming as ever in it.

All this talk about que sera sera got me interested in the drama so I decided to watch the first ep.... HUGE mistake. 11ep later and at 3am I had to stop because I had to get up later for work. Omfgah. Damn their chemistry is unreal. Love the drama so far and will probably finish it later tonight... but since I saw a glimpse of their chemistry together I cannot wait for this new drama. From the looks of it its a comedy? I hope so QSS is sooo heavy. Can't wait!
