It’s rare that I look at a drama cast and think, there’s just too much pretty in there. Is such a thing even possible? But come on, if it takes you five seconds to locate Lee Jun-ki in a group photo, that’s saying something (I’m kidding, it would never take me that long!).

She wore it in Atonement, I remember. That dress was stunning and I love that color, it caught the light so well and looked so silky. This is darker, but IU looks stunning, she has such brittle-looking features, the off-shoulder look really suits her ?

That Atonement dress was GORGEOUS, I think deep, rich greens in general look amazing on people with dark hair.
The cut and precise shade of IU's dress is different, but it's still gorgeous though the vibe they're going for here is more fairytale princess than the sexy 30s sophistication of Keira Knightley.

There's just so much to look at. They must have all been in synch at the shoot. As a group, they totally rock these pictures. This is proof that you can be fully dressed and still look drop dead sexy.

To play devil's advocate, it could be just depth perception messing with us and her elbow was actually a few safe inches ahead of where it looks like it is ;)
I've taken pictures with people that come out looking like their hands were somewhere inappropriate on me, even though they didn't actually go near it. The camera can lie!

+10000000. Just imagining this cast all together in a modern-day setting with the endless possibilities of gorgeous clothing, and modern day sensibilities re: sex and skinship- unf. I would take the worst, most cliched of reverse harem plotlines if I could just see them be all brooding and sexy in their fraught family conglomerate takeover gameplays or whatever. With IU, of course, as the outsider, working as a maid and stealing all the hearts in princely her run-ins, but secretly also the illegit-daughter-of-the-guy-who-co-started-the-business-with-the-father-of-the-seven-second-gen-chaebols-and-then-was-betrayed.
I have officially put way too much thought into this.

After Heirs, I have developed severe chaebol allergy. It's quite unavoidable in kdramas but at least, I need to stir clear of chaebol centric themes.
Taking inspiration from YY's suggestions below, why not cast them in a jungle setting? LJK's family were marooned, orphaned and brought up by apes. The brothers led a carefree life, swinging from tree to tree with their tanned muscular bodies, long dark hair and tiny loincloths. Until a woman entered their lives and changed it forever. Cue - IU in her green dress, not exactly camouflaged by the forest. She's traveled back to nature or actually, she's marooned in the jungle from a downed plane. The brothers' relationships are tested by a creature they've never seen before. Will the alpha male win or the one who makes the softest jungle bed for his lady love?
Will this work? Well, at least we successfully avoided power rangers hanboks and sofa upholstered sweaters! Why doesn't any stylist think of loincloth?

Heart skipping a hell lotta beats. I ve always been indifferent in the context of speaking things like oh i wish i was her. But man look at IU's individual shot with Jun ki. I WISH I WAS HER.
I love a lot of these guys - Haneul, Ji soo, Baekhyun, they are fab. No doubt. But hell look at Jun ki standing out like a boss.

That pic just SOLD me. He is dark and broody, while she is all colorful, innocent but so FEMININE. The contrast is shown so wonderfully - nicely themed, suiting the characters. I totally like how he has placed his hands behind her, it gives such a seductive touch to the photo. Man hats off to whoever has designed and shot them.

Can you say FIONE AS HELL! So much PRETTY I can't even stand it...but I will. And it's so OBVIOUS Lee Jun Ki is the main male lead.
You can tell that from the very first pic and how his arm is around IU waist and she has her hand atop of his hand.

And let us not forget Kang Ha Neul! Can you say DAMN!!! He is the first guy I've ever seen who looks so much hotter with longer hair.

Thsi reminds me of an anime I used to watch as a kid called " la corda d'oro primo passo ". There was one girl and 6-7 guys who liked her simultaneously and they all played musical instruments.

oh wow, never thought I'd meet another La Corda d'Oro fan on db! That manga was gorgeously drawn, and every single one of the guys was swoonworthy in their own way - it's still my favourite reverse harem to this day.

lol no, they safely finished it years ago - the last few volumes were so beautiful, I wanted to swoon a little just looking at panels. The eyes and hair alone....hell, I want to swoon a little just thinking of it now!
iirc the manga that went unfinished because of the author's illness is Nana, which is a shame because I loved it.

It's also one of the very few manga where I was actually ok with the heroine ending up with any of her potential matches, even though the one who would be OTP was practically marked out with flashing lights over his head lol. I suppose that has to do with its game origins.

Used to read the manga. Didn't finish it tho, too much work. LOL. I also loved Harukanaru Toki no Naka De. And it's a period manga set in the Heian period, much like this is a period drama. And a reverse-harem with 8 beautiful men, not counting one beautiful "devil". So that manga has 2 pretties on this drama. OK, now I need to read that manga again....

Depends on what type of undies he wears. If he's wearing cotton ones, well, an elbow digging in would result in pretty bad bruising in, um, there. But then he could be wearing disposable nappies, you know like the type babies wear, coz photoshoots are long and grueling, and he could just save time by just, you know, unloading his um, waters right there and then on the couch or standing up or wherever he is. These are thick and padded and offer more protection from elbows, I would think? Tarzan wore a loincloth and it protected him from snakebites, thorns on those vines he's always swinging from, and poison ivy. This is totally unrelated to what I am saying, though...wait, what am I saying???? I need help.

tbqh, I'm probably only going to watch this drama because of IU. I absolutely LOVE the male lead cast and they have so many of my favorites, not to mention boys whom I just find super attractive, but I don't really watch sageuks and were IU not in it, they by themselves wouldn't have pulled me in. But IU as Cindy endeared me so much that I'm compelled to watch her next project and see her growth as an actor. I genuinely hope she does well. (Although considering how bitter the netizen comments seem to have been about her casting pre-airing, I feel like there's a chance that the general narrative will be that if it's a failure, it'll be because of her, and if it's a hit, then it'll be despite her. I really hope they cut her some slack.)

yeah, judging from some comments in past posts, the knives are out for IU's acting and she cannot afford to make a single mistake - if the writing or directing mess up, the blame is going to be laid at her door just the way it was for Lee Yubi in Scholar Who Walks the Night (I'm still bitter about that btw).
I've been a fan of Lee Jun-ki for almost a decade but I'm NOT cool with this new trend of throwing his younger female costars under the bus for any shortcomings of the story/script/things not in their control.

Kiara - it wasn't oppa himself of course he would sooner drop dead than say anything negative about a costar), but I've seen quite a few netizen comments around this casting talking about how his leading ladies (specifically Yubi and IU) suck and how he has the bad luck to star opposite them/will have to do all the work etc
Which is quite frankly bizarre to me, considering that SWWTN was screwed over by terrible character writing for its female lead. I can only conclude that people have some kind of personal grudge against the two actresses and take it out this way.

that is a LOT of pretty boys. it's like they gathered up all the hottest up and coming young actors. i don't recognize all of them, but jisoo is so handsome!
lee jun-ki used to be such a delicate looking flower boy back in the day. not that he isn't still handsome, but he's much more manly than flower boy now.
i'm really not looking forward to IU though. i absolutely can't stand her. i could tolerate her in a supporting role, but as a lead!? i don't understand how she keeps getting cast in lead roles, honestly.

yeah, they really picked the prettiest and most gorgeous of all the boys (and men!) for this cast.
As for IU.... she's easily on par with most of the better (non-idol) actresses in her age group, and if Producer proved anything, it was that the girl can emote. She rose to the challenge of making a complex and potentially unlikable character the most loved of the four main leads by the time the show was done - I can see why she's lead material because even on skill, she's earned this.

i originally thought IU was a fairly serviceable actress until producer happened. i guess some people liked her there, but i personally thought she was severely lacking.
while i really liked the character cindy, the entire time i was so frustrated with the way IU was playing her. i loved the other three actors (cha tae-hyun, gong hyo-jin, kim soo hyun) so much that it infuriated me even more because i thought she was bringing the show down every time she was on screen. haha just my opinion.

Did you watch it all the way through? Because majority opinion - going by both Korean and international comments - was the opposite. I know people expressed frustration with her lethargic manner in the first couple of episodes but after the PD switch, things were explained and switched up.
