Drama viewership ratings for the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3, 2019

Happy February! The next drama cycle is almost upon us, meaning it’s time to say goodbye to more shows. The first to finish its run was Bad Detective, a show that started off strongly ratings-wise and teetered off near the end. Soon to follow are the two wacky rom-coms My Strange Hero and Clean With Passion for Now; their finales will be airing this Monday.
Wednesday and Thursday’s shows have nestled into a comfortable standing, with An Empress’s Dignity in first place, What’s Wrong Mr. Poong-sang in second, and Spring Must Be Coming coming in very last. Finally, weekend smash hit SKY Castle aired its finale Friday, bringing in its highest rating at 23.8 percent. And what a run it’s been for this satirical drama–I’d say it’s earned a big round of applause. *sadly claps alone, hoping others will join in*

The verdict in Korea is the finale was the most boring episode in the entire drama (comparing it to Memories of the Alhambra), so SKY Castle is lucky their ratings did not plummet. 25% is but a pipe dream.

Congrats SKY Castle! Started with minimal fanfare, but ended on top!
Congrats The Last Empress! Same with SC, TLE also started with not as much fanfare as its competitor but ended up on top for Wed/Thurs slot.
Congrats Liver or Die for holding on against TLe! But i'm thinking of dropping this if i don't see SJH in the next ep 😅

I retract my words for now. I didnt realize i missed ep 8 for LoD. Just watched it and dangg the family is in shambles. I'll stay for more eventhough there's no SJH 😢

I started watching that show and I'm not sure I made it through the first episode. It's been a long time since I felt so uninterested in a show right off. What did you find that appealed to you if I may ask?

I think i dropped almost all of the kdramas listed above 🤣🤣🤣 except for The Last Empress, The Crowned Clown and Spring Must Be Coming. But whatever im watching atm is not safe from being drop.
Now im congratulating myself for finishing Sky Castle, and the ending is quite satisfactory (compared to MoA) despite i dont feel right about rich youngsters choose to go travel instead of finishing their school first.

I think there was a better way to explain WJ going away, he would have been too emotional to back straight to the same school and even if he was innocent the gossip around him would be huge. He can come back later and take the GED and still go to a university.

MBC is not having it good with Spring must be Coming but is Poong Sang really good enough for almost 10% ratings? 2018 dramas have basically disappointed me so I'm holding out hope for 2019 dramas.

SKY Castle's ratings are massive! Do we know if this is JTCB's highest rated show ever?? I feel like this might even have beat previous tvN mega hit ratings. But my memory is fairly short...so I could be wrong...

I haven't watched the last episode yet but reading headlines like this seems like that the K-viewers weren't satisfied and are taking action lol.

I wasn’t satisfied either, it was the most boring ending ever, I expected a twisted ending but i was disappointed in everything, a total let down and a waste of such a good plot.

Mary has a most perceptive take on the ending of Sky Castle in the What DB Team is watching, which I read with nods after nods. Why do we need any more twists and turns in the finale??

Kdrama writers are sucks at making ending. Children of nobody, memories of alhambra, and sky castle just proved it. I think it just pure luck for sky castle that their last episode scored the highest rating.

Unlike popular opinion I actually Liked the ending.. maybe I'm too much of a sucker for happy endings! Such an awesome drama.. will surely miss it loads!

After all the shenanigans that happened throughout it's 20 episode run I'm glad Sky Castle had a sweet ending and i think we're told enough story that it doesn't merit another season for it to have a twist in the end. Just my 2 korean won.

My Healing Love ratings are pretty much the same. We're finally making some progress with evil people and useless people getting what they deserve, and I was hoping the ratings would go up. But I suppose I should be glad the ratings didn't go down, what with the two hours of crying and despair that we got this weekend.
