Real life entertainment always has different taste - March is on against the fools of subcontinent as well as few colourful firestrikes and inbetween 3 poor nations fighting over a dam - poor not deserve much screentime. Real life action always overpowers fictional action.

Bought new Hard Disk - Burned 2 while waiting - This is -ve effect of overjealous patience - Didn't buy - Just let siblings know need one and they bought for me - This can't buy thing has become quite problematic. I just can't buy non-edible( couldn't edible) things. Always handed over my card and ordered family members to buy things - Because of that in 2020 i was in pinch - Even with all that beating i consider 2020 good time. is it being too stingy?
But i do waste money in many other ways too. Maybe 1 reason is i feeling fooled when purchasing a product. By not being a direct customer i somehow get around and create a very stupid logic as my money is being utilised.

I'm going the opposite of shopaholics and still not opposite.

It's Friday, it's been a long week, but next week I'm going to go see a couple of my kids who I haven't seen since last summer, so that's one good thing to look forward to.

Also, I'm very very very very glad I dropped Oh! Master because that turned out to be even more of a hot mess than I thought. Lee Min-ki, you owe me a good happy drama. It's been much too long.

Anyone watched anything good lately? I've still got a Vincenzo sized hole in my heart schedule. No horror, sad, or super makjang wanted though.

Enjoy seeing your kids! So nice to be able to look forward to things like that again.

Currently I’m enjoying Mouse (probably too horror-y) and Sell Your Haunted House (has creepy ghosts). Not a kdrama but I have heard promising things about a BBC show called Starstruck which is a reverse Notting Hill situation rom com (no idea if it’s actually good - the woman who wrote and stars is a kiwi and so New Zealanders are required by law to give it good reviews 😅....but I’ve loved her other stuff and she is on record as loving proper romantic comedies so I have high expectations)

Mine is actually prety interesting?? idk i liked it, its very clearly the "makjang" concept and has probably taken inspirtation from penthouse and world of the married which we will probably see later in the drama. but it is very new and unique in its own right and has haknyeon (VIXX's N) so like yeah. i havent found an intruiguing drama in a while, this might be it for you too?

After Yoo Jae-suk won Daesang TV winner on Baeksang yesterday (May 13, 2021), I digging this to his Wiki page on his performances (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Yoo_Jae-suk_performances), he got only nine K-dramas apart from his numerous non-scripted shows. His most recent K-drama was his cameo on Zombie Detective as a nameless actor who played zombie on horror film poster.

BTW, I love him because he was one of all-time favorite Korean media personalities. So people already shipped to him by years and even four decades and still counting. I don't him to be retire and I wanted him to be a "veteran" entertainer. After 30 years of debut as a comedian, he gained old and new friends including not only on entertainment, but business. I also felt excited to him for seeking one of Korean entertainment hall-of-famer.

To all Indian beanies:
In my own opinion...
I felt afraid that India might include essential places (e.g. drugstores, groceries) for the Covid-19 cases' clusters and I also felt nervous when someone who reporting Covid-19 cases on essential places might considering a massive shutdown on any essential services due to reporting unexpected Covid-19 cases there. If we do this, then India might considered a year-long lockdown to December 2022 or January 2023 and it's really the largest economic failure in India that resulted the first Indian Great Depression. :(
In real-life, we must continued to pray for India to end the Covid-19 pandemic. Indian beanies, stay safe at home!

I was a bit under the weather this week and treated myself to (finally) binge-watching Chocolate. I have to say, Ha Ji-won (as Cha-young) calmly and competently cooking wonderful dishes has to be the most soothing thing in dramaland.

Also, as I definitely felt better by the time I finished Chocolate than when I started it, it will go down as an officially 'Healing' drama.

I loved Chocolate a lot during its airing. If I remember this correctly, some DB recappers then showed their love for the show as well. It’s lovely and visually pleasing. Ha Ji-won was like was born for the role. Her cooking scenes are the best ones I have ever seen in my entire list of Kdramas.

The OST is also great. Until now, Special and You and I are among my favs.

While I couldn't get excited over the real estate plot line of the upcoming "Monthly Magazine Home" despite my love for Jung So-min, watching their character interviews in the Youtube 'Making Film' where they were just oozing out warmth and brightness just sold me as it seems like the whole cast really had a great time filming together (during the super long 8 months it took for them to complete filming!!!). Hopefully that group chemistry will translate well onscreen! (Side note, I've never been a huge fan of Kim Ji-seok, but after following him on IG & hearing what JSM said about him in interviews, he seems to be a genuinely funny and caring guy who I'll be on the lookout for in the drama!)

For those interested, the 'Making Film' clip can be found here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO3kIJ_GNTc)

This upcoming drama seems to be slipping by with no notice and not much media play, especially since it's unfortunately airing around the same time as bigwigs "Hospital Playlist 2" & "I Know But"...but here's to hoping this smaller drama will gain some traction and pick up some new fans once it airs!

Hi Beandom!

Here for my (seemingly) monthly update for you all. It's been a couple emotionally draining, roller-coaster weeks. One of my former employees committed suicide at the end of last month, so that has been weighing on me. He will count as a victim of the pandemic. So much sadness. But my brother and sister-in-law also just moved into town in the past couple weeks, which brought much happiness. My mother had all her children with her on Mother's Day which had not happened in over 20 years, so a milestone there as well. We are all vaccinated, and my kids will be today! I have a wonderful family and excited that we're all here (although I'm less than rosey about them in my writings-lol). But busy-ness rules the rest of my life. I am enjoying my new found singing groups (some Beanies have started singing with me as well). I've discovered that everything takes practice, but I think I'm getting better and bettering myself is a good feeling. Never stop learning kids, you get anxious or depressed if you do--at least I do.

New dramas I'm watching: Bossam and Doom at Your Doorstep Service. (Someone should pay me be rename dramas.) Liking both so far. SIG, is....something else. I don't get it. I don't find him attractive, just mesmerizing.

Still watching: Sell Your Haunted House, Money Flower.

WOuld like to start: Kim Ji Sung's new real estate one. Seems that housing is a theme for me right now.

Story:

The math genius and my son. Apparently, the math genius really likes my son. They play video games online together, which just started this year. My daughter and son have played video games before, but with the pandemic and being virtual all year, several more kids have gotten into their group, and one is math genius.

Daughter: So math genius just loves brother now and always asks if he's around to play.

Son: It's no big deal, I totally beat him every time.

Daughter: It's because he's an only child and doesn't have any brothers himself, probably.

Me: *feigning disinterest* Probably. He should come over this summer and you all could game together.

Daughter: Math genius is already complaining he's going to be so bored and I think he's worried we will stop playing with him.

Me to hubby: *whispering* We should adopt him.

Hubby: *whispering back* He already has parents.

Me: *still whispering* But not in-laws.

Hubby: *rolls eyes*

Moral of the story: Vaccinated kids = summer play dates.

2nd moral: Son will be leaving our house soon, I'm going to need another son, right?

3rd moral: Have a great week everyone! Say some prayers for India and other countries struggling now as well. Fighting!

Beanies, today I got my first vaccine dose. NGL, I was a little emotional when I arrived at the vaccination center and was getting everything processed. The doctor asked me how I was as he prepped my arm, and I told him, "I feel like it's Christmas!" So today, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for science, but also a determination that we must continue to be vigilant and that every person on this planet deserves the a jab in the arm and the medical care they need.

In less important news, my parents told me that they may put in an offer on a new home. The thought of never again seeing my childhood home makes me Feel Some Feelings; I am happy for them as they move into retirement (and closer to their grandchildren), but I feel a very selfish and sentimental feeling of grief thinking about it nevertheless.

...and speaking of "Nevertheless," starring Song Kang and airing next month (does he ever sleep?), I watched the 57th Baeksaeng Awards yesterday. All in all, seemed like the choices were solid - though I was bummed for Shin Hye-sun, who dazzles on screen.

Stay well, Beanies!

I might have gotten a little choked up and teary when I got my first dose too. Second dose I was just skipping out the door with a triumphant soundtrack in my head. I don't think I was singing out loud. Congratulations again, on your vaccine.

Good luck to your parents, the real estate market is wack-a-doodle in these parts, and I hope they get just what they want. On the plus side, selling a house is super fast right now. I'm never really attached to a physical house, but sometimes I drive by my childhood home and see the state of the yard and think of all the dang raking and weeding we had to do as kids and now it's an overgrown mess and I want all those hours back. (I still hate yard work)

Thanks, egads! I can't wait to skip out the door the second time, too. I know it doesn't mean things are over, but at least it feels like a tiny bit of progress.

The house they're thinking of making an offer on has the most beautiful expanse of lawn - I suspect that may be one reason my father has given it his stamp of dadpproval. I'm just glad I don't live close enough to be assigned my turn on the riding lawnmower!

I couldn't get over how happy I felt when I got the first dose. Emotional but in a good way, especially seeing the people in line with me.

Speaking of a soundtrack, during that first dose I'd walked in to the site wearing my ear buds. I'd taken them out but forgot to hit pause on the random kpop playlist I had playing. At the end of the 15 minute wait I gathered my stuff up and popped my ear buds back in and ended up walking out to this which was ridiculous and perfect at the same time.

Congratulations on your vaccine! I hope you do well with it without any side effects! Elation and relief is what I felt when getting it. Congrats on getting your first vaccine dose! We’re not likely to get ours until at least July 🙁 but at least my country is pretty safe at the moment.

It felt weird to me too when my parents said they were selling my childhood home. But then it wasn’t actually that sad when it finally happened - I hadn’t lived there for years and it is so nice having my parents closer to me. And their new house still feels like home, all the things inside are still the same.

It's good to hear that. I know that logically "home" is my family, I haven't lived in that house for about 20 years now. But I live overseas, so when I come back it always feels like sinking back into safety. You know which floorboards creak, how the front door sounds when it opens or the back screen door when it slams. It helps to hear that a new house can also feel like home!

I did work a part time job in the evenings, one to get out of the house for the sake of my sanity; two, so I could have some money of my own; and three, so mr egads was forced nudged into being a more hands on parent than his own father had been.

Mr beffels is to date a pretty hands on father so I’m hoping that doesn’t disappear once he’s no longer required to have turns at being the one who comes home from work when they’re sick 😅. idk why i decided to write here today, but if anyone has any drama reccomendations (preferably not healing i like comedy and good story line plots) i'd love to try.

Hello all,
Spring has sprung! At last! The joys of weeding is now here. My present goal is to read one hour a day -- fantasy fiction or nonfiction or spiritual book-- and to weed one hour of day. My present prescription for calming the mind and getting sun.
Dramas:
I keep starting and starting dramas right and left, especially the ones i like. Obviously something is wrong with me.
First, i find i am way more impatient with noble idiocy... so although i was really liking Youth of May, i don't want to deal with a plot based totally on someone nobly lying and then another person nobly lying and then a scheming rich girl and her would-be father-in-law getting their way. I still remember the opening shot of this drama so....
Second, I find i stay up at night being annoyed with selfish second lead women who look at some other person's property, husband, money, land, etc as their own. I understand that Korean ahjummas see this as all part of the story they have to pass through in order to get to a happy ending. But i hate stress and i do not like tossing and turning over some situation just because it's a trope and expected to get the story done. So, out went Mine.
Third, and this is entirely my issue here. I understand that the world is full of religious nuts, schemers, etc but i do remember the days when religious people of all denominations were treated much better in kdramas. Of late, there has been a mega-proliferation of scheming Christian cults, nutcase shamans, etc. And the hero/heroines are all equated with sane heroic humanism and atheism. I have no problem with their humanism or atheism. but i do disdain their sneering disdain for spiritual beliefs. When characters drip pity for spiritual folks, i feel they're insulting their viewers. Give me writers who understand that religious ahjummas hate being mocked by some character in a drama. So there went Dark Hole and Doom at your service. DAYS was hard to give up because i so love LSH. But since he's doomed to second lead status i guess i can give up on it.
Fourth, Good bad guy involved with bad guys. I love Jehoon but damn! Why is in two dramas where bad folks dog his step? Yes, i understand that every character in a story has his or her own life and difficulties but sometimes dramas choose the trite tropey road which leads to trite tropey examination of stories. I would've preferred the actions and redemption arcs of Move to Heaven and Taxi Driver go deeper and remain with the main story rather than kdrama bad guys being in the mix.

As for cdramas, why must some war or rebel always intrude into a story? I was loving several stories...and then suddenly....war.

So, on the whole, i'm liking Bossam and I'm loving LOVING!!!!! LOVING!!!!!!!! Be my dream family. The best daily i have seen in ages. So wonderful, well-thought-out, and heartfelt without the tropey angst.
Have a great weekend,
