China is issuing official apology towards Dr. Li.
I was not accepting this, moreover from the chinese government. So, i guess i have to say i am pleasantly surprised at govt being a positive force.
But, i am bewildered that even this is happening, because no amount of pressure on china could get them to do what they don’t want to do (cue: the current america sent the virus to us *big eye roll*)
Taking away all disease related context, i am just surprised at the govt.. when dictator does a tiny good, i guess it would help to appreciate him in the hope he will scale up his “good” actions

I don’t know what’s happening.. quarantine and all.. once lockdowns are lifted, if all cases have not been identified by then.. even one person left unidentified wil start spreading again
Pharma companies are not altruists 🙁
and god save the poor nations, unlike china they don’t have drones to send food to each household
There was an article about chinese authorities how they could stop the virus spreading from the beginning if they’d listen to doctors and laboratories instead of arresting them. It affected their economy really hard but now they’ll appear as saviours because of medical masks so needed everywhere.
On a different topic, is this genuinely a natural cause or bio weapon? Lastly, the problem is, no country is functioning properly and is containing the situation, but what about 6 months down the line when life gets back to “normal”? Any leftover carriers could start spreading the virus all over again
That’s the risk. Maybe they’ll create a testing methods where they will test anybody entering or leaving country if they are clean and they still hope to create a vaccine for it so any travelers would need to be vaccinated in future.
2 new tests are expected to be rolled out in a couple of days..
one to test if a person ever had a history of covid19 and the other to test immediately (instead of current 2 week identifying phase)
That is my worry that unless a vaccine is established there will be no certain way of containing it. And i heard ot cpuld take 18 months for a vaccine to be available. At the end pharma companies benefit from pandemics. Also re china I think they had no other option. Dr li was now considered a hero and Hong Kongers were using his face as a symbol to advocate freedom of speech, they can no longer hide that he and his team were right. So I guess apology is their only way.

Rather than giving empty apologies, they should just. be. better.

He’s no longer leaving behind a wife and unborn child and the virus he detected in 9 people has become a pandemic. What can a sorry do now.
