The Novelist. Got the chance to watch this rare gem this weekend. Short and sweet. Lustful. And beautiful. Thank you Japan for not skimping on the quiet scenes and the not so quiet ones.

I watched, then did a rewatch, of this one a few times in order for the whole of the story, and all of its emotions to sink in… Explicit, but definitely a good one that’s tastefully done

Hmmm. I might do a rewatch. Coz I went straight for the second part instead, for curiousity and to understand the writer’s character more. I quite didn’t understand his intentions here. I am always a sucker for the person who falls in love, and I felt the student’s emotions more.

I agree. It was tastefully done. From the framing and lighting all the way to the use of their simple sets. This one and Mood Indigo will be with me for a while.

    Now watch Mood Indigo.

Yep. Can’t watch one without the other. 👍👍

Mood Indigo is a mood. More mature and characters were more fleshed out I think.
The Novelist, on the other hand, is fun and had innocence to it. Love both. Needs to watch both to appreciate the everything.

        “Mood Indigo is a mood.”

Yes. Yes it is. Lust is a powerful and sometimes very dark thing.

I watched Mood Indigo first before realizing that it’s the sequel of The Novelist.
