I realized I am reeeeely horrible at Hindi which is a shame seeing as how its my mother (or technically father) tongue. So I am trying to brush up on it- by reading he ranslated version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
Now that I am teaching Spanish to students, a Spanish version of Harry Potter really would have been an awesome thing to read! But I don’t think it’s available in India..
It’s just by fluke that I got this job.. I still have to learn quite a lot of the language myself but I am finding it really easy to teach beginner’s level 🙂
That’s uber cool! I wanted to get a master’s on teaching Spanish to foreigners, but never got around to it because I really wasn’t sure I’d complete it lol
It’s my native language! ^^ So that’d mean that yes, I can teach whomever, but I wanted something more ‘professional’ since I want to move to another country and thought that could come in handy if I ever needed to teach!
That does sound like a good plan! I had Colombian and Spanish teachers and I loved them! One of my vague long term plan (if I do end up continuing in this line) is to finish all the Spanish language level, gain experience and then move to another country as a Spanish-English teacher.. dunno if that will work out though 🙂
Pffffffft… Man I remember making fun of dubbed Hindi version of the movie and now I am going out of my way to read the same thing! *signs that I have finally grown up*

Awww but you know Spanish, right? So can’t you still teach it? Or do you require a certificate to do that?

The (maybe) Southern accent from Colombia is super close to my accent!
