Ah. If you’re into music, then there’s this really good podcast called Song Exploder in which an artist breaks down how they made a particular song each episode. It’s mostly indie artists but there a few OST episodes too, like the GoT theme, and how Killmonger’s theme from Black Panther was made.
Vanished is a good podcast, it’s an investigation into a real missing persons case in America which happened 10 years ago. The podcast ended up revealing the culprit and they are awaiting trial.
Blacklist- this is airing at the moment and it’s a science fiction drama about the local residents and what happens after a black out occurs.
How to fail with Elizabeth day – I love listening to this at the moment, each episode, a celebrity guest is interviewed about their failures which have helped them become successful.
David Tennant does a talk with – he interviews celebrity guests about their life, jobs etc.
Thanks, I currently into audio dramas, so I definitely checking out Blacklist, the rest seems interesting too, is Vanished in style of Serial? I must be one of few people who didn’t like it, not my type of format.
I’ve not listened to serial or any of the true crime podcasts so I’m not sure if it is similar to serial. I probably won’t listen to any more true crime podcasts, because I have an overactive imagination.
I do think the investigator in this case was trying hard to figure out a timeline and encourage people to come forward.
Nightvale is another fictional podcast, I’ve heard good things about it, I just can’t get through the episode.
I have overactive imagination too, but somehow true crime sooths my anxieties, but I’m careful what I’m listen to, there are plenty of assholes and frankly speaking creeps in that genre unfortunately.
I had the same with Nightvale, it was highly praised but it didn’t click with me at all.
What are audio dramas? Ive never heard of them. I listen to radioclassics old timey radio shows in my car but are there more our there? Are they the same thing?
Yes I think they are the same thing. People are creating new dramas which can be listened to online, similar to the shows that used to air on the radio.
They use sound effects, different actors for each character to tell the story.
There are quite a few drama podcasts on YouTube or tune in.
Yes, they are very similar, and old radio shows was inspiration for a lot of them. My absolute favourite at the moment are The Monster Hunters, 70’s spoof supernatural drama, like a crossover between Roger Moore’s Templar and Hammer Horrors. But there are plenty of new audio dramas popping this day, even big name actors take part in them, and even Marvel released one, with Wolverine character.
