I imagine the exes were con-victims, but maybe there is much more to that story, her being traumatised and all.

Yes, thank you for the reminder, Flower Crew Joseon Marriage Agency! I couldn't remember I'd seen him in that too. I could not bring myself to finish it. It wasn't the drama for me. But his character was by far my favourite on screen.

I don't even know what made me think so, but even before the fire alarm loop I was thinking "This story is somehow being told backwards!"
A hint was that the piggybacking, hug and kiss happened in the first 15 minutes of the show instead of, as is the norm, episode 8.

Thank you!
That was a great recap.
I hate the fatphobic storyline, too. Only good thing is that she is not depicted as dumb or cute. But also: even people who have fits of over-eating generally know where their mouths are, so they don't end up with chocolate all over their faces, actually. Also, with the money that family has, wouldn't she be able to hire someone to help her lose weight without fainting? ... But that's a bit like the therapy thing.
But there's a mood about the show that has me super intrigued from the first moment.
I talked about it here:

I haven't watched Knight Flower so technically I shouldn't be commenting.
But since when has common sense ever stopped me?

I'm venturing a thought: Perhaps the Baeksangs thought this was the best we'll ever get from Lee Hanee and they also thought Ahn Eun-jin could tackle ever more impressive roles?

This looks more fun and frothy and less dark and biting than it had seemed at first blush! The teaser and poster have made me more excited for this.

Once in a while someone points out this patriarchy but the minute a new pretty flower boy breaks out everyone goes crazy for him. Women need to be dressed in luxury brands and be bad ass to get noticed and even then they’re being noticed 90% for their fashion. Men can be dressed like slobs, be tall and have cute smiles and dimples and people go crazy for them. Even red flag characters like LMH in BoF and Heirs, SK in basically everything, LJW in EY or KYD in Penthouse. Only when women behave like badass men they get noticed like LDH in Search WWW or SYJ in IOTNBO. This pattern unfortunately won’t ever change. Recently Anne Hathaway was criticised for earning more than her male lead in The Idea Of You. It’s ridiculous that people would even bring it up. Why should a no name rookie earn the same as an Oscar winning actress? Even CEW earns more than SHK and JJH. This pattern repeats in every generation.
