Looks like openly affectionate lovebirds Kim Jung-eun and Lee Seo-jin will be vacationing in the U.S. (very) shortly. The couple was spotted on the morning of Sunday the 20th at Incheon International Airport, although they weren’t photographed together as they arrived and checked in separately.

Lee Seo-jin arrived first, reportedly between 9:30am and 9:50am, but seemed to be aware of the reporters watching as he waited for Kim Jung-eun to arrive and checked in first. Approximately twenty minutes later, Kim arrived in a bit of a rush and hurried to check in, after which she met up with Lee.

The couple is wrapping up a busy year, particularly on his end. She just finished recording for her SBS variety program Kim Jung-eun’s Chocolate, while he’s spent nine months of the past year committed to the unrelenting filming schedule for the long-running drama Yi San, which finally wrapped in June. He held a fanmeeting just the day before his departure, on the 19th.

This trip combines business with pleasure, as both are heading to New York for a photo shoot. Still, it’s likely that this will turn into an extended vacation for them both; at the time Yi San was winding to a close, Lee had explained, “After the drama ends, I plan to take a long break.”

I’ll admit, I wasn’t really planning to cover Kwon Sang-woo’s wedding news, but it’s everywhere right now so I’ll highlight the key points:

• Kwon Sang-woo held a press conference on July 18 in Seoul’s Plaza Hotel to confirm the rumors that have been swirling since people got wind of his romance with fellow actress Sohn Tae-young yesterday.
• Approximately 300 reporters were in attendance, with some Japanese female fans as well.
• Sohn Tae-young was not present.
• …because the media are harassing her.
• The wedding date is set for September 28. The ceremony will take place at Shilla Hotel; the honeymoon is yet undecided.
• After acting in the drama I Am Sam and having a cameo on Iljimae, Sohn Tae-young had been the host for cable channel DongA TV’s beauty and fashion program Sohn Tae-young’s Life Magazine, which she is now quitting.



• She cites the sudden media flurry as her reason for the sudden departure; the heightened scrutiny would make it impossible for her to carry on her program as normal. The episode she recorded on July 17 was her last.
• She’s also suspended her drama and CF casting activities.
• That has caused people to wonder, will Sohn Tae-young retire completely?
• Kwon Sang-woo says she’ll keep working.
• The two lovebirds met when they were introduced through Kim Sung-soo, Kwon’s co-star in the recent drama Bad Love. He first met her when eating dinner with Kim Sung-soo.
• The proposal wasn’t fancy. He’d bought a ring, gotten nervous, and even cried, after which she hugged him.
• He’s never been to her place (”all celebrities tend to be extra careful before things are definite”).
• They did travel to Australia together, with “close friends.”
• He’d originally intended to reveal his wedding plans to his fans first, at this upcoming birthday-cum-fanmeeting on August 5. But the news broke early and pre-empted that intention. (Aside: Could you imagine the possible disaster that could have been? Look at the media craze now — imagine if the news broke at a fan meeting attended by all his adoring female fans. Hilarrrrious.)
• He says Sohn treats his mother extremely well, one of the reasons he fell for her.
• He also wants to be a father.
• But it’s “absolutely not” because she’s pregnant! Her mother refuted claims that the speed of the announcement suggested a shotgun wedding.

It is with some trepidation that I read the articles for this post — not out of some kind of uber-fannish love for actor Jung Jun Ho (although he IS handsome), but because I am assiduously avoiding any news that is related to The Last Scandal of My Life for fear of being spoiled as to its finale, which aired yesterday.

(And you thought I was kidding about hating spoilers, right? I’m pretty hardcore — even watching previews at the end of an episode ruins the fun for me. I was halfway through Delightful Girl Chun Hyang before I realized I’d missed a whole bunch of the ending parodies because I’d been skipping the end-credit previews.)

But anyway.

Jung Jun Ho’s been in the news a bit since Last Scandal has been airing, and the current buzz centers around his love life. Reports started circulating on April 28 about his plans to marry an unidentified woman (”Ms. P”); later that evening, he spoke with reporters at a drama wrap gathering and confirmed the relationship with the 32-year-old woman (he’s 38). The couple met earlier this year; he recently proposed and he hopes to tie the knot before the end of 2008.

His drama co-stars expressed their delight over the news: Jung Woong In (who plays his older brother Dong Hwa) said, “When he talked on his cell phone, I’d heard a woman’s voice, and now it turns out we have this great news.” Byun Jung Soo (playing Lee Na Yoon) said jokingly, “I hope he gets married this year. He’d better hurry!”

Are Gong Yoo and Im Soo Jung dating? MBC every1’s news-entertainment show News Agency! Kura’s Desk thinks so; they’re reporting that the romance is on.

Last year, reports that the two were dating spread when Gong Yoo and Im Soo Jung were seen together at the Jeju International Airport in September. At the time, Gong Yoo issued a strong denial to quash the rumors, saying, “Im Soo Jung and I are merely good friends, and a group of our friends had met in Jeju Island.” Im Soo Jung, on the other hand, had an indirect denial, saying, “I’m touched, since this is the first time I’ve been involved in romance rumors in my career.”

Even amid heated interest from netizens, the two denied a relationship; the topic gradually faded away. But as Gong Yoo’s military enlistment neared (his service started on the 14th), producers of the show began taking more of an active interest, keeping watch over the star’s home and hinting that there’s proof of a relationship. But, naturally, they’re keeping mum for the present until they reveal the facts of the case (because it’s all about ratings!), in the January 25 episode of the program.

Hmm, wedding bells may be near at hand for the openly affectionate couple Lee Seo Jin and Kim Jung Eun.

Although they’ve been dating for a while (reportedly since they costarred in late 2006 as lovers in, duh, Lovers) and fans have wondered if and when the couple would officially get hitched, 35-year-old Lee Seo Jin now admits his desire to marry after he’s done filming his current series, MBC’s historical drama Yi San. The drama, which has planned for a sixty-episode run, will finish its broadcast run in March — but as the series is doing well, many speculate over whether an extension is likely.

A source close to the couple confirmed, “Lee Seo Jin admitted to Kim Jung Eun his wish to marry after Yi San finishes. I think it’s probable they’ll have the wedding sometime this year.”

With his drama being a hit and her recent movie (The Best Moment In Our Lives, also starring Moon Sori) expected to be a success, now’s as good as any time for the two to tie the knot. (For the trivia-minded, Kim Jung Eun was the recent bouquet-catcher at Sung Hyun Ah’s wedding last December.)

However, both actors remain busy with their careers, and as yet, “There are no official wedding plans.”
