Eom Ki-joon turns reporter in Hero

Actor Eom Ki-joon — adorable in Job Well Done and a charming bastard in The World They Live In — has been added to the new MBC drama Hero, aka the Lee Junki vehicle also starring Han Ji-min.

The drama features all three as reporters, with Lee Junki’s character recklessly rushing in to help others and Han Ji-min’s being passionate about the world’s injustices. Eom is “cool-headed and cold-hearted” as an “elite” politics reporter who is also the son of the head of a large corporation but keeps his family history hidden. Behind his clean, calm façade the character harbors a mean streak, making him a complete 180 from his recent Job Well Done character.

Eom Ki-joon has certainly shown he can do both nice and mean equally convincingly, and make both extremes entertaining. And funny. A smart addition to the cast, I’m thinking.

Hero will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays following U-Know Yunho and Go Ara‘s soccer drama Heading to the Ground, and begins filming in September.

I nearly bounced off my chair when I read this news earlier; here I was thinking it couldn't possibly get better, with Lee Jun Ki and Han Ji Min as leads already, and they go and add Eom Ki Joon! What a solid cast; I'm totally sold on this now.

It looks like Hero might go up against Chuno instead of IRIS, since Chuno might be pushed forward. Oh man, the second half of the year is looking awesome for dramas.

I can't agree with you more! His talent was wasted on Job Well Done.
If this is going up against Chuno, Wednesdays & Thursday are are going to be very busy. :D

oh my gosh, now i have to watch this show. i mean, as much as i like Lee Junki and Han Ji Man, Eom Ki-joon is so much more entertaining to watch. he's the perfect person to portray both "coolheadedness and cold-heartedness". he was the best thing about World's Within and was a good compliment to Chae Rim in Job Well Done. let's hope his character has a sense of humor as well. that'd be perfect. will definitely be watching out for this one now!

Eom Ki-joon is absolutely wasted in Job Well Done (and so is Chae Rim)! Let's hope Hero will not disappoint.
