Does "Mata Hari" mean something in korean?? Cuz it means something in another language..

Oh, she's so gorgeous! I bet the wardrobe for this production will be incredible; she'll look amazing in it, that's for sure. I really liked Kim So-yeon's character in IRIS, such an understated and powerful performance. I'll definitely check this out just to see her in a different light.

I'm looking forward to seeing her do this role that's a complete 180 from her role in IRIS. I thought she was absolutely smashing in IRIS (I was rooting for her and Hyun Joon; alas *sigh*) and I can't wait to see her in this project. :)

So funny when hubby and I were watching IRIS. He would say "I can see why guys think KTH is cute" which translates to, he can see why KTH is cute. KSY is more my type frankly. She was such a bad ass in All About Eve.

When I first heard the title, I thought the story would reference the spy Mata Hari, but it doesn't appear to have anything to do with it. Unless Kim Soyeon's character turns a bit femme fatale and starts using her feminine charms to get information out of clients/witnesses/etc. ^^

Though the story sounds interesting I can't help but think: why is it called Mata Hari? Since I'm Dutch, the name brings out some associations I can't quite place in the context of this drama, but maybe it will be clearer when the drama starts. That, or the Mata Hari here stands for something different entirely.

Mata Hari was an exotic Dutch dancer who was famous at the turn of the century because she was not only beautiful but was accuse of being a spy and executed. I really wonder what the hell it has to do with anything in this drama... lool

Long time coming, a leading role finally for Kim So-yeon! We have non-stop supplies of evil girls in Kdramas but never has anyone come close to her super duper evil girl in All About Eve.

I'm not completely sold on the premise of the drama (if I want to watch a procedural drama, I watch shows from the US), but KSY? Jin Hyuk as the PD? I'm so watching this.

That is awesome, been waiting for this actress to appear in another drama after IRIS. She has got to be one of the most beautiful actresses, ever! It's not only her looks she just has this powerful magnetism about her.
(Uh, I'm female and straight, for the record.)

The premise is interesting, I'm glad she's not going for a girl-next-door kind of role as she will not suit it. She's suited towards something much more epic, a sageuk perhaps. Aaah, I can just see it... and Jung Ae-ri playing her mother... Eeeeeep!!

This news got me really excited. I think Kim Soyeon is totally a cut above other actresses her age, but she's still relegated to supporting roles. So I'm really excited to see her back in the lead role!!

The drama sounds promising, i loved painter of the wind and On Air. Should be something to look forward to, unlike currently, nothing catches my eye or heart! (except may be the kids in Wsih upon a star, while the adults are just so meh!!)

LOVE. LOVE, LOVE the plot. We have a drama-thriller lookalike. A fashionista growth development to a great prosecutor. ALL what I want in a drama. I love woman growth in one drama. Not relying at man and striving by herself to have a character development. Usually we have man who grow etc. Now we have a woman character growth. Fun at the beginning I suppose - by what ALL woman love - fashion- and turns more depth towards the end I believe! A fun and exciting ride I suppose. Just like cuddling with a novel which I love the plot.

Can't wait!!

But yea, I think it's an interesting character for her to pull off. I didn't think she was exceptionally good in IRIS. But considering the material given to her, with the horrible writing, she was passable.

Excited!!! I've been waiting for her since AAE; agree with what some people have said earlier; she played such a compelling mean girl with weakness and vulnerabilities in AAE. Haven't seen IRIS because the subject matter does not appeal to me, but will def catch this drama!!

I've always admired Kim since All About Eve, i meant not exactly her role in there as she was quite annoying but her beauty is seemingly exotic for a K actress! I'd say she has one of the most beautiful faces in Korean entertainment world. The more you look at her, the more you'll appreciate her beauty. One of my Korean friend's husband when I asked him one day who's his fave actress...he didn't hesitate but told me none other than Kim! He also thinks she's got exceptional beauty compared to some other he'd seen in Hallyu dramas! I'm happy for Kim as she's getting more/more recognized as a good actress! Aja aja

Finally a deserving leading role for Kim So Yeon although her drama might suffer stiff competition by rival series on KBS and MBC.. hopefully not. But it's great that she is no longer typecast in a secondary role or be thought unable to portray anything else than a villainess or a strong charismatic NK Agent.. off the rolling-camera she is such a funny, girlish and lovely person.

Have always liked KSY, ever since her spotlight-stealing performance in All About Eve</b. It's too bad she's never had a really brilliant piece of work that she could add to her repertoire as the breakout lead. It's about time - I hope this drama is awesome.

Soooooo happy to hear this. Too bad she's born in Korea where uglier actresses get the leading roles with the girl next door characters, I am already sick of this.

I've loved her since AAE. I can't understand why chae rim is the lead female in that drama. If it is a Japanese or a US drama, Kim will surely be the lead,e.g poison ivy etc.
The best Korean drama I've ever watched is ''Yesterday"' which also starred Kim so yeon with beatles songs in it.
Then came 2005 with her internationally successful movie'' Seven swords'', not every actress can portray the role of a slave.
I like Korean movies than dramas. Dramas are meant for ladies I think. Kim so yeon got snubbed frequently with her supporting roles like in ''Gourmet'' or ''IRIS'' . My point is she is absolutely better than kim tae hee or nam sami, in terms of acting or beauty.
If korean directors have enough sense to make a korean gongli , they should make movies with kim so yeon.
