@mookie: Please tell me you watched all of Tsuki... at least to see.. Abe Tsuyoshi make the worst uh er.. I still don't want to spoil it haha. I thought Shota was touted as being fluent with chinese... but Ryokos came off more authentic? (she did say less so..) To me KimuTaku is always trying too hard...

@FTYL: I'm watching this off and on. Grandma is fierce. I guess I should be invested in the main couple more but meh.

@lb_tmi: Rock those shades indoors! It's what In-Woo would do. He's not crying under them at all; he's just being a stunner.

@eiko: I watch A Good Day For The Wind To Blow usually raw. I know there was that one group that was subbing and decided to stop. There might be a channel on the west coast that is showing it now? or will be showing it? I think it's a rather good show but not enough of the main couple in recent episodes. I need more cutesy couple scenes to balance family dreg.

@nycgrl: Yeah MiSA was great but lately there's been a lot of dramas with good gut wrenching tear inducing writing. I wish Im Su Jung would come back to TV... that probably won't be likely to happen at least anytime soon.

Tsuki no Koibito - a first impression of ep 1 - first, Apple isn't listed as a sponsor, but they should be as the conference scene is a showcase of virtually every model Apple makes. Mostly, the episode's a bit of a mess. It jumps around a bit too much, it's trying a bit too hard to be high end and stylish. Even I (not a native speaker of any of these languages) find some of the diction to be off. I suspect the director is pacing people too fast, as everyone is just rushing their lines, their actions, etc. The editing is off as well, the shots could just be held a fraction of a second longer and be more effective.

On the upside - Kimutaku is looking fine. As in FINE. Even the bored with you look in the conference scene as he disses the American supervisor is nice. Nice haircut, too. Tie on, serious look - niiiiice. Um, oh yeah. He's playing this role a little heavy at the moment, I suppose it could lighten up. And we get the patented Kimutaku grin at the end.

Matsuda Shota - not doing a heck of a lot so far, other than play backup to Kimutaku and look vaguely threatening.

Downside, Shinohara Ryoko leading the world's happiest crew of decorators/construction types - overdoing it.

Lin Chi Ling - well, she's doing what she's supposed to here, and does a nice range through the episode (and blessedly speaks Japanese slowly so that I don't have to keep backing up!)

Abe Tsuyoshi - gets a WTH?

Ze plot. Well, yeah. Japanese company led by Kimutaku building development in China. Kimutaku is there, among other things in checking up on the project, to pick a model to front the thing, and of course runs into Lin Chi Ling who he decides will be perfect. She's doing the classic perky, honest, smart, poor girl against the odds kind of thing. (Ok, loved the bored dissing of the American supervisor in the first meeting, hated the decorating crew)

So upon accidental meeting 2 - persuades her, via a sideplot, to be the model and make over commences while the designs are worked on and via yet another sideplot, she has the answer to his longstanding puzzle.

Meanwhile, he's also got girlfriend and paparazzi problems -

On the one hand, it's obviously a high-end production, on the other it's getting a serious "oh really?!?" from me in the plot department.

And that, my OT friends, is the quick dash through Kimutaku land here today.....

Ah momosan nee-chan. Domo arigato. Just what I needed to ground my burgeoning KimuTaku brain expansion. And to keep expectations low, way way low, for TnK.

Stylish = I like the sound. Bad editing and pacing = see beginning of PT and how it totally screwed up the first few eps. Oh well, it is what it is. :-)

Thanks for the OML raw link.....i'm happy the way it ended....guessed what they were doing much of the time but thank goodness for familiar words and phrases. I was glad ex husband apologized to KH. And I kinda guessed that MW drew up a contract which KH was reading. I'll look forward to the whole eng subbed episode to enjoy the ending. One thing for sure....I'm glad they put in the singing....he improved and I know it had to do with the changes he went through. He made MW come alive!

That drama was enjoyable....it generated same feeling like Wish Upon A Star.

Oh...another thought....I noticed that in the 2 scenes where they held each other....the one in department store and at the end.....KH had her hands on MW and not at her side like most of the dramas show the women! She was showing affection by touching him. I also liked the way he picked her up from the floor....and then he held onto her. Of course, the stage hug was totally unexpected and that's why she was startled.

Delightful drama.

BTS of the scene in FTYL (with English subs) where Ming Dao subbed in for Ethan (cuz Ethan kept NG). Its beyond adorable. For those of you not yet up to episode 16, don't watch, this scene is after that.

Thanks for the link, it's cute, and they call it work ? I am green with envy. : )
oh, did you finish watching PRIDE yet? I was just at Thundie read your WHIB review, great job ! Therefore leading me to make a little tiny sugestion for your next project, it's only if you feel like it and compel to do it, I would raise my hand up and chan PRIDE! PRIDE! PRIDE !(feel free to ignore it, just kimutaku fangirl chanting) Did you watched A miiion stars fall from the sky yet ? it's dark and twisted and .....it's Damo and WHIB rolled into one bundle of heartache. btw, if you don't mind I am asking where did you get PRIDE dvd ? last time I look on yesasia, it did not have it. thanks

Hi jayjay

I'll respond to your WHIB-related stuff back at Thundie's, but thanks for the giant vote of confidence. I totally take suggestions for reviews (the only caveat, I must have watched it! hehehe). Pride - I've just started, but will have to wait and see whether I have the urge (probably will) and the chops (hopefully can) to write about it.

Btw, if you want to read an awesome Pride review, check Ender's Girl's wordpress blog. She's prolly KimuTaku's #1 fan. :-) I love her writing, she's detailed and exquisite in really doing super deep dives into doramas.

I watch pretty much all my K and J-dramas with Chinese subs, so my DVDs are TW original licensed DVD sets. Can you read Chinese? If not, then I can't help you, since if my DVDs come with alternative English subs, the quality is usually pretty stilted.

I have not watched A million Stars, I mentioned this earlier, but I stopped watching j-doramas from about 2000 onward and started back up last year (with Hotaru no Hikari and working my way backward through the best of the last decade that I missed). Thanks for a great recommendation, I love dark dramas when I'm in the mood for some soul searching, so I'll put A million stars on my to-watch list along with Byakyuyako.

All this FTLY talk is making me LOL - which is great after the tearfest that was Giant's episode 3.

Oh, FTLY totally gets better as it progresses! Wait till you guys see the flamenco dance/mask of zorro scene in one of middle episodes (if you haven't already that is)!
I didn't like the granny to be honest, though I preferred the same granny in Easy Fortune, Happy Life, 'cos she kind of like died in the first episode of it -- yaaay!

Ok, Giant - Episode 3!

Excellent! After the event-filled, physically and emotionally numbing first two episodes, 3 was the one where the characters (the Lee children) get to finally digest the reality of what they've just been through and it's really quite sad. I was weeping like a moron and shouting at the screen -- ''but they're only CHILDREN, you hard-faced beep-beep-beeeeeps!!''

And HURRAH! For angsty, intense Kim Soo Hyun topless and boxing! Woohoo!

Sorry, I mean that was a very intense episode.
And hence, I'm in serious need of a Yoon Se-joon hug!

(Ignore the rest, just skip straaaight to 0:57 and BAM! BAM! BAM! Not one but three extra-special Prosecutor Yoon treats! L'appeciez!)

By Shan Cai's boatcruise makeover, you mean the black dress with cut out stomach area? Travesty! I don't know which was worse, Jan Di's puffball meringue dresses or Shan-cai's cutout dress!?
I like that Makino was the only one who stayed consistent with her tomboy image. Booyakasha!

Have a great time!

@eiko,OML has come to an end, I must say that for an unassuming little drama fill with a lot of cliche's it did provide me with a warm feeling, the last two episode did brought the whole story full circle, I did like the fact that Kae-hwa maintain her persistent attitude about being a responsible adult, and how instead of going the easy route she help Min-woo become not only a more responsible man, but a mature adult willing to take responsibility for his daughter, the romantic part was handle quite nicely without to much sugar, it was more realistic when the writer play it low key!!!!

@amg1

yes....writer did good job with OML. I've watched it over and over grasping the story line in the last 2 episodes....how perceptive MW was in breaking down the barriers and I loved it when he talked to the ex husband about "apologizing". I thought it was pretty neat how MW went to all her close friends to help him out. And those 2 little girls were just so darn special! Especially Eu-yuen when she was holding the hand on that life like photo of MW. How creative is that? What a genius!

His marital contract was pretty reasonable and realistic! LOL LOL....marriage in one month....first anniversary trip and 5th year around the world!!! And like a real mom...she remarked how he didn't think about who would take care of the kids! Which I grasped as they would end up having one or two of their own also. Yep, the romance part was nice and the relationship handled beautifully.

I can watch OML on local station now....airs Mon/Tues nights here.

Happy Wednesday!

@V, Supah: SPOILER. I'll be back; just you see. For the record: Hamburger dress is the best dress ever. But I think Jan Di wore that to frolick on the beach or something. A beach that didn't have any crazy mcdonalds fueled seagulls.

@momosan: I was going to make a comment about the apple thing, and I was like "wait for it....." and then when it wasn't a sponsor, I was a little shocked. Thinking about it though, I can't recall them ever sponsoring any drama or movies. There is a nice shot of a Suntory Boss drink in the show... Oh, and if they're doing so much interior design they would probably be using AutoCAD which only runs on microsoft windows OS, not a mac OS. So KimuTaku isn't doing any work, just making flashy powerpoint presentations.

I remember watching an interview last year with Narimiya Hiroki he was talking about this drama being his next project but I forgot all about it, this is the first time for me to watch Naka Riisa, I like the way that she is playing her character, overall I like it a lot J-Dorama's where the first Asian dramas that I got into they have there own special 'VIBE' which I like a lot myself.....

@janna..
I did finish the ep of TnK. :(

O bloody hell... that's disappointingly awful. :( :( IS this really a Getsuku?!??!

I expected me not liking it, but it was outrageously puke inducing. I'm sad. :(
high point: I would concur @momosan Kimutaku is looking FINE and I actually enjoy Kimutaku more than I'll give him credit for, he's attractive to me still and he has enough acting chops to not bug me. I bunch him w/ my affinity to Andy Lau (when he's not selling his soul to feed the dogs in a Wong Jing)

*SPOILER*
WTF was that Abe arc?!?! WTFWTFWTF! I'm not a fangirl him at all, he's half Chinese and his mando is way better than mine so I'm giving him credit for his line reading... when factory workers r laid off... they have to crossdress BADLY as some trannie prostitute in SHANGHAI!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? WTFWTF, I lol'd sadly at that last scene when he came cheering for LCL's catwalk. I cringed and I cringed more. I still cringe thinking of that.

I mean writer-sama is totally flipping me the very wrong way. (have to admit I'm never a fan of hers and that's exactly y even before the casting of those actresses I dun care for, I'm not excited w/ TnK) IF u r basing half the ep + on SH circa this millennium, DO SOME RESEARCH WOMAN!!!!!!! man... it's painful to watch how feeding the tired stereotype, shallow to inaccurate everything is written. I'm not saying SH has no slummy areas, but that phone or TV and everything in LCL's environ could not have existed past the 80s.

and please can I start a good rant on how stinky LCL is?!?!??!!? I do not see an ounce of chemistry or interaction btn her and any of her costars, so I'm more than lost w/ the MAGIC Kimutaku see in her factory girl. Her catwalk is so disastrous in a sense because she's so inept as an actress, she cant find any balance btn her usual sexpot model self and how the character should be capable of, it's supposed to dazzle us as her character but it's overtly sensual and sleazy BUT not impressive as her usual Top model capabilities. See, I can recognize her effort and hard work, but when I can clearly see how hard she's trying yet it's so awful...she can't act. She's fine in the broadest strokes, but it's in subtler moments of a grunt or a move that she's WAYWAYWAY off and OTT in theatrics, it's like she's acting enthusiastically in a highsch play.

And her voice... felt like a million chalks scraping on the board at the same time. The thing most messing w/ me is it's only that screechy and 'cutesy' when she's reading her mando lines, it's tolerable when she's speaking Japanese, so what's the deal Miss Lin?!?!?!??!

I do not like Keiko as an 'actress', I never will. I dont even think she's beautiful enough to just be easing by the superficials.

-end rant-

You are too brutally honest, twin. But man your post just killed me, with the funnies I mean. LCL speaks mandarin like a 6 year old girl, all feathery cutesy that drives every woman I know insanely bonkers. Since you don't like Keiko, I take back my suggestion to watch BB. Watching her and Pi in BB is akin to the blind leading the blind, and they take turns leading. The only thing they had was chemistry, and considering the rumors, they got lucky. I loved BB but I'm not objective. Pride is objectively a great dorama, BB is objectively NOT. But I loved both. :-)

I'm just glad I watched BB before Pride, otherwise BB would have been unwatchable even with my Pi love. KimuTaku actually acts, he's really a character actor stuck in an idols body and can't get out most of the time. Pi just is. He's not an actor, he's just my Pi muffin. His non acting in BB is now doubly funny since I'm watching KimuTaku kill it in Pride.

@ eiko, Amg1 and OML watchers

Well, I am pretty satisfied with the ending although some may think it is not sugary enough. I like how this last episode is dialogue-driven that covers a lot of ground, as opposed to Ep 15 which you don't need to read the subtitles to know the story. And, MW does prove himself to be the worthy man in the finale. His KH profile/contract is a nice recap bringing us back to how this drama begins. I always think it a pity that KH's hard work on doing the MW profile went wasted but having a final touch up on this subject is a pleasant surprise. As eiko said, his going to KH's ex, doctor friend, and making a pact with MJ just shows his win-only-and-no-return determination. You could feel his hurt to see KH rather talk to and cry in front of another man. Yup, that contract of getting married in a month, cruise trip in a year, and round the world in 5 years is quite something - another memorable proposal from Kdrama. (Anyone wants to make a compendium of all the proposals we've seen in kdrama?)

The biggest surprise to me, though, is President SJ's confession to KH! I always see him as no more than a friend although super nice. It's great to see a glimpse of hope of his reconciliation with his wife.

I also like MW's scene with Reporter Han and it'd be nice to see what story would come out of this drinking session. Unlike the reporters in other dramas, I actually quite like Reporter Han as he is not malicious with the only aim to unearth a (big) story.

All in all, OML is a drama that I will re-watch in the years to come.

About OML....didn't reporter Han put a story about MW? I liked that interview...MW got to talk about his feelings and reporter Han saw him as a regular guy in love. What I liked about it is that he changed....he matured... I'm gonna miss that drama....like Wish Upon A Star.

I wasn't surprised with the Chief's confession....I knew he liked KH and it was because of her that he made some changes also. that's another one where I liked what the writer did....no fairy tale story there. Plus they left the other guy out there because it was pretty obvious, to me, that she still loved her husband.

I'm with Amg1 about the not loaded with "sugar" part. I think it would have killed it with all the mush....it set the pace with the refrigerator kiss and left it at that until he hugged her in the department store....now that was a good one. And the finale kiss was a real classic with that feeling of "I love you" and he held her face and she put her hands on him.

The only 2 people that gave me the creeps were fish face and the ex-husband. The ex reminded me toooooo much of someone I know who was a very bad experience in my life. :-(

I sent supah a note letting her know that Professional Princess will be starting next week Wed. I believe it will take the slot that OBGYN will finish off tonight. so...I'll endure and watch it on my 32" flat screen!

Happy Wednesday and have a great rest of the week!

@V, Janna
Giant 3 SPOILERS:
It wasn't that the children were miserable themselves, it was how brave, earnest and hardworking they were that got me! it was just so much more impactive that way. And yes, it was very Grave of the Fireflies, many similarities. The only difference here is that they also have a newborn baby in tow and a huge hope to reunite with their hyung once they make to Seoul. And the best thing is you know none of the four siblings will perish, as the two ill-fated siblings in GotF did.

And on the subject of their hyung: how many times did you girls cry out to Sung Mo (KSH) ''Oh you crazy, crazy kid! Don't go there, back away! Turn around you crazy kid! OMG! Nooooo.....''
But I suppose if you step on his dongsengs' chocolate bars, he will turn around, creep up on you and stab you up good! I just can't believe what he's got himself embroiled into and that he has come face to face (bang!) with such a powerful enemy. Crazy kid!

PS. Little sister Mi Joo has such an hauntingly beautiful voice (and what is she, like 5yrs old? Wow! Seol-hwa has nothing on this kid!), that song she sang when Kang-mo was giving her a piggyback ride at sunset and she's holding her adorable new pair of shoes, it was just so beautiful. Such a powerful little scene, I'm sure they'll be many tear-inducing flashbacks of that scene in this show's closing episodes.
Yes, yes, I've been manipulated (caught in fishnet, grilled, lightly drizzled with lemon, ready to devour) by this drama and I totally don't mind that I have.

@eiko, epyc, janna and PPers:
PP was a fun and exhilarating ride, I adored KSY and HJS - even PSH. Right now though.. I think with where the story's going I'm not too happy. I may just graciously bow out now and imagine the series ended in episode 9 where my precious, precious SJ held hands with HR as they walked under the cherry blossoms, it was such a heart-fluttering scene. (I'll also imagine they kissed!)
They seem to killing out SJ's character now, we're seeing him less and less and creepy IW is taking away all the spotlight.

Eeh, whatever, I'm fully invested in Giant now (for now anyway) and once PP ends next week, I'll have Kim Nam Gil to look forward to -- I've been waiting for him since ... 4evahz!

you're talking about Bi-dam! QSD is still playing on local TV here....right now I think it's at episode 40 something. right now they are looking for Misil? i float in and out of that drama.

i've been picking up on non-mental type dramas lately. been having issues with my left foot.....had by pass surgery in september and something happened during vein harvesting so i have numbness from below the knee. saw my primary physician last week....all blood work was fine and I'm doing great...never had pain in my chest from surgery....but my foot is a problem. told the doctor there was a trade off...no pain from surgery but something went hay wire with foot. i have neuroscience appointment first week of june to test for nerve damage. i count myself really blessed because i have a friend who ended u[ with numbness in her chest! so i use a walker on wheels when i go to the market and walk around because i don't have the sense of security....bottom of my foot feels swollen.

so i take it one day at a time....and this is a good reminder that i must slow down and do things at an even pace and not be in a hurry like how i used to be.

thank goodness for computer and dramas! :-) and for OT where i can read some of the looooong recaps/comments and get my chuckle for the day or for the hour!

i miss chats with you.....but will keep checking in regularly.

My dear (supah) I have officially 'Check out of Prosecutor Princess' the same way I did on "Will snow for Christmas" after episode 9.
The main reason is that the writers created to much and I mean to much confusion and tension, the In-woo character was created flawed form the beginning, the way the writers have taken the story totally defies 'Logic' I for one cannot check my 'Brain' out the door, while up to episode 12 it was a great ride, the force pairing and the instant forgiveness for the sake of a happy ending is just not believable in my mind. So this is my 'Last Comment' concerning Prosecutor Princess, sure was fun while it lasted! Peace Out!!!

Hey!!!
it's morning here and i can be on my father's laptop for a bit before we have to go out the whole day... this means that i will MISS all 3 wednesday dramas, in particular PP (GRRRRRRR.. why? no. no no.. no today's ep. why make me see those pics and then make me wait for a day!!!) ... at least until late today! i bet you can hear me cry from wherever you are...
well, at least i did catch Giant 3 and OML ending yesterday... btw, i'm really satisfied with how OML ended considering the time crunch to wrap up everything. MW being particularly cute, sweet and adorable in this ep... who can refuse him when he's in love... really. wish there were more YeEun tho. and CSW has proven to me that the dude can be more than the pretty face and can acutally sing decently when he tries, or gets the occasion to, more like.
and Suju new MV is OUT!!! and the choreography is SICK!! i like it ^^

@momosan
thanks for telling me,... i did start watching the first half of tsuki no koibito and could understand most of it so i'm thankful for that but really, it's still a bit fast for me. glad it's going to be subbed. i'm sure it'll be more enjoyable when i rewatch subbed but meanwhile, i'll just have to struggle with my poor japanese. but i was not in love with what i saw.... and am even more discouraged from what i read in the "rant" by mookie.. :(

@supah
aww... i'm SO sorry about the spoiler... actually, when i put the second warning about the major spoiler, i had you in mind in particular but i guess that didn't work... hope i didnt make you too anxious with that...

and yeah, by shan cai's boatcruise "makeover" i do mean the black dress with the cut out stomach area, hence the quotations mark for "makeover"... really, the stylist in meteor garden needs some serious glasses... that dress was just terrible, and didn't make her look prettier. and same for jan di's "makeover"... GHS can totally look pretty in some case and i can't believe they managed to screw the one occasion where she can look decent in the drama. but if i have to choose between the two, i would have to say the stomach dress was the worst of the two.. and yeah, no matter what pple say, makino is GREAT!!!

and about Giant... count me in the fishnet for now... don't know when i'll escape but i got caught in ep 3... not so much the first 2 ep..
and yeah, when i saw KSH's face... i was like "don't do it.. don't come back... don't be the crazy kid i know you have been in most of ur dramas.. " well, guess what i say doesnt count that much.. xp

and about PP. well, i will continue on my part since it is going where i want, or is it? well, i want to find out is more like it... but i understand if you want to stop now.
it has been fun while it lasted. ^^ u were one hell of a hard rival to beat. :)
and i am looking forward to Bad Guy too! that drama sure went through a lot.

and about french... um, the thing wrong with it was the L' part, which you got right spotting that. :)
as for appreciez... the "r" was right.. lol.. but that's not important.... i misspell english words all the time when i'm not careful. -_-"

@janna
haha... i'll wait for you.. as for the "hamburger dress".. um, could you remind me what you're thinking of.. i can't picture the dress ur talking about.. unless, it's the dress Jandi wore at the beach... why the hamburger comparison?

@ockoala...
so true what you said about Pi and Kimutaku...

@jayjay
haha... Team IW for sure!!!

@eiko
hope your health will get better!! i will pray for you (really, seriously..)
will miss you and your wise comments but your recovery is most important!

@Amg1
haha... i totallly understand what you mean with WISFC... i technically finished that one (using the fast forward button a lot) but for me, the drama ended at ep 9 too! lol.
as for PP, well, tho being in team IW, i didnt agree with it, it was fun to read your opinions on sociopath IW... it made the PP experience all the more fun! so thank you for that!

haha...thx for the pic of OML ending kiss... for a drama that was platonic during most of it, that kiss was quite something... it left me smiling for sure..

OK... bye gang!! i'm out now for the day!
enjoy OT and all the dramas!! i'll make sure to catch up later.. haha...

My seminar ended today!!! mookie sama, Thank you for having been feeding me with the little morsels of super duper highly subjected recaps, you have been my life saver. Finally I was able to watched CU11 and 12 ! Wow, my heart is filled with gratitude for the turn of the over all tones for now. So good to see that somthing between KH and EJ. The restaurant scene was priceless. Also watched OML16(couldn't watch ep15!).

Watched Tukino koibito with my GF. Sorry to say it sure didn't rock my world. I saw few other posts I could relate about this drama somewhere above. Only saving grace for us was Shota kun! We both doodled whenever he appeared and were pretty upset that Kimtaku got all the screen time and not him. We were all mad about his dad 30? years ago and now it's his(Matuda Yusaku) son.

Argh! my head is about to burst. Better go to bed now. Shopping and massage tomorrow, then, next day heading home. How's the weather in So. Cal? beautiful as usual?

@19 mookie

I was afraid to go a little spoilery with Abe but indeed - that whole thing was a serious WTH?!? I mean, I really freeze framed and went WHAT!!! at the screen.

To a certain extent, I'll watch Kimutaku read the phonebook, but the more I think about it, I think they did waste quite a bit of talent in that episode. Whether they continue to waste them is the question. And of course, the plot is worse than swiss cheese, but hey!

Curiously, I have the same gripe with many of the Japanese actresses doing the high pitched little kid voice at times. Fortunately, none were doing it in this show that I can think of, but man that grates.

Strangely, I'm enjoying the daylights out of Yankee-kun. I think this means that I'm really 12. 8-)

Cheers!

Gosh....you made my day! That kiss was so darn "nice". Look at how she has her hands on him also! So much nicer than hands at sides.

I bailed on WISFC also....early. I couldn't begin to find any reason to keep watching.

And Mahalo for your thoughts. Being mindful and aware of me each day has been a blessing.

Aloha....

PP will be airing here on our local station from next week I'll probably check it out since I can watch it on my 32" flatscreen tv! Tonight OBGYN will end....I get to enjoy the finale all over again!!!! LOL LOL.....get my Wang and Lee fix!

I'm still with Dong Yi and enjoying the story. also Daring Women which is raising the stress level! got some pretty nasty characters in that drama.

Talk to you again.....stay lively and bubbly! :-)

Our self-claimed triplet (Water OB) started Tsuki no Koibito (and Yankee-kun, momosan).

Her capsule reviews:

"Yankee-kun to Megane-chan: Don't hold your breath for her love confession. I don't think she knows she likes you."

"Tsuki no Koibito: Funny... in unintentional ways."

Mwahahahaha, good is good, and so bad its good is perhaps also....good on its face? I'm talking to you, Tsuki no Koibito (btw, I caught the first 10 minutes - and felt like I just fell into a vat of TW-idol drama slickness without any context or subtlety or grounding in realism).

Really, the new KimuTaku vehicle wants to ape the parts that didn't work about dramas like P.S. Man and FTYL (all glitz, no soul?). I mean, the first 10 minutes of Pride has so much heart and soul I was wrapped in a soul snuggie while my heart raced as if I just power sprinted a 10K around The Big Island and is now screaming hallelujah on the beach.

Yankee-kun, by the time I'm done with my mind-numbing but self-selected Pi marathon (after Pride), I should be all ready for your cuteness overload!!!

And lastly, a Jang Hyuk update: mookie mentioned the ABE remake pictures, here you guys go! JH looks great! (I cannot believe this hairstyle I actually love on him), and Zhu Dan is really pretty (like a cross btw Ariel Lin and Chen Qiao-en).

@a_angus, V
Yep, I was shipping the wrong OTP, I so hate what they've done to SJ, they've dulled him down and geeked him out, and whatever's left is Team IW's HEAVEN and Team SJ's hell. I shall bow out gracefully now but will still probably partake in some whining about sociopathic IW and SJ-praising every now and then. I freakin' LOVED this drama, SO much! Just not what it's become. Good job it's nearly over.

I mean.. there was only one of HR, so it was inevitable either IW or SJ was going to end up with her, fair enough, but... then to lump SJ with JS, she's sweet and everything but too dull.. and he's just too precious! I'm probably repeating myself -- but I'd rather he stayed single and sexy than be eternally bound to HER! Nooooo!
What a waste of all that Han Jung-soo!

I will continue to read the recaps because I'm still v. curious about IW's childhood story and whether HR will ever find out about SJ's Eun-ji and well the whole Ma Sang Tae and associates mystery - did he, didn't he?

To be honest, there's still a chance for SJ and HR even now, but a minute one, and I've been cheated and mislead so long I won't be getting my hopes up over it. But if it happens, I'll be right there!

@V
I had successfully avoided reading your spoiler --- up until right now, and wow! It's even worse than I'd imagined.

@Amg1
Hear, hear!

@37 ockoala

Water OB pretty well summed that up!

Since I don't watch TW dramas, I don't know what to compare TnK with. It's certainly slicker than the average j-drama, but, seriously, the plot? Yeah....

Comparing it to Pride, which grabs you by the ....well, it grabs you from the get go, then TnK is not happening.

I'm still going WTH? over Abe too. What were they thinking? Ok, it was unintentionally (I hope!) funny, but bizarrely insulting at the same time.

As for Yankee-kun - hey, it's a school drama - love confession - not holding breath, although that's part of the fun. Had to love Rinka coming in with the punked out schoolgirl outfit complete with baseball bat.

WISFC:
Dudes, I love this drama!! It's actually one of my all-time faves.
Of course ideally I would make a few alterations and also title it like... ''The Pendant'' or ''The Bridge'' or something...
The only thing I could fault it on was Yoong-sook's amnesia, but otherwise the story was wonderful, and the ending was how it was meant to be. People complained about HYS' acting and I agree it was barely tolerable at the start but she improved a lot towards the end.
And you guys quit at episode 9? You mean you never watched episode 10?? Man! That was one of the best episodes in the series! (After 1 & 2... & 13 ofc.)

But I suppose it's all very subjective, if it's not your thing it's not your thing. I like that people have their own unique tastes anyway.

@V
Hey, what rock have you been living under gf?
It was called the 'hamburger dress' and generated quite a bit of a buzz in its own right. http://hydandbbfanalyst.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/jandi_hamburgerdress.jpg

@janna
Hey, have you seen Giant 3 yet? Is that what you meant by wait?
Oh and let me know whether or not you'll be continuing with PP or have given up on it like I and Amg1 have. (Boycotttt!)
I completely forgot to mention how hard I laughed at those Patzzi cups! Now I want one reading ''My boyfriend is Prosecutor Yoon''. HAAAH!

Hey, what's this? Are you not feeling well? Get well soon.
And we can always chit-chat here silly, we don't necessarily have to be watching the same dramas to leave comments for one another. :)
Our tastes may not be very similar but I love how we both loved OBGYN, although I got into it for Song Joong-ki (Ahn) and you for Go Joo Won (Lee), But then Dr (sexy...mother!) Wang just took us both by surprise. Haha!

TW-idol dramas have a huge, gaping built-in hole in its premise, which is that characters and situations are always set-up, i.e. you aint never gonna meet anyone like that in real life, and you aint ever gonna run into anyone like that in real life.

Uh uh, no no no. So if you can accept that premise, like pretending the world is flat for the duration of the drama, some of the stories and chemistry between the OTP can and does make certain TW dramas wholly enjoyable and well-done.

The start of TnK just reeks of highly stylized character constructs plopped into a (in the plotwriter's imagination) version of Shanghai. With very broad (and from the screeches coming from mookie) and insulting take on Chinese labor situations. I didn't make it beyond the first 10 minutes. Pride was beckoning. But it feels so much like the start of a TW big budget idol-drama.

btw, your reference to Pride, so agree, but what's killing me is that, combined with my use of a male anatomy reference in the WHIB reviews comments section (i.e. it's like arguing who has a smaller _____), its twice in two days there has been a male anatomical skirted reference with respect to describing a drama. And that! makes me giddy with juvenile glee. :-P

o gosh @momosan, I maybe 11 then. I <33333 Yankee kun. it's so reminding me of my love for Otomen w/o the cream cakes and the dainties! my soft spot for Narimiya Hiroki is really getting too large to control. my fangirl self is hypnotizing myself he's the terrific thespian of his gen a la Abe that can excel in every quirky role dumped his way and he's so like our Masaki in Otomen... the role itself can easily be OTT superficial (case in pt: Toma in HanaKimi) w/o the grounding by some serious acting chops to add needed depth and gravitas.

Rinka = Ryo w/ a brain that might have been concussed too many times to function properly, but it's still working at some odd, fascinating gears.

lol @ twin, I dun care if she's kicking and screaming, I'm kidnapping WaterOB for my Christmas brainmelt w/ the funnies

see I have my Pi phase long ago, not shameful about it, I've never quit doramas, it's my main drama fodder... I've checked out every single thing he's in, even up to CB2, but I also have the attention span of a chipmunk in sparkling sea of nuts taking form of pretty boys. So unless u told me BB is OMFG good, I'm not touching it w/ a 10 ft pole. I've seen all the fanservice that can be squeezed fr that dorama and I'm as happy as I've just eaten briased pork belly. tbh we can all agree the only good dorama quality-wise Pi's in was Nobuta.

@celestialoriginsan! yay r u done w/ work? heading back home? :) Safe trip! Will u have more time to indulge your drama cravings?! lets spazz more on CU...etc.

@supah: I never left a drama because of my favourite couple not ending up together :P :P But seriously, from the start, Se-joon was an under-developed character, so it was kinda foreseeable that he would not be the leading guy here. It was like, don't know, rooting for Alex in Pasta :P To be fair, he was dulled down from the start. I can see that you loved him from another dramas (Chuno!), but here, he was never anything else than a mere distraction before the main couple could get together and a plot device for some side developments. That may be the reason why IW ship is bigger, he has a background and story, where SJ has only good fighting skills, a dead wife and pink suits.

I'm talking purely about the drama's approach, and trying to be critical about it. If I have to talk as my inner fangirl would like, I'd just say: YEAAAH IW FTW! hahaha

@v: yay for episode 13!

I know where you are my friend....been down more than up in recent months...trying to keep a balance. Have to keep reminding myself it's all about a day at a time. It's so frustrating after being very active and then having to deal with the foot. I know I've been really, really blessed that I didn't have the pain people talked about after major heart surgery.....like I told my doctor last week....it was a trade off with my left foot! he thought it was funny. I'm not used to being more house bound....used to go out almost every day....get on the bus and off to different places. Awful feeling dealing with numbness. At least I've progressed quite a bit since Sept. and I'm glad I have really good medical insurance because they provided home health care nurse and therapist for 6 weeks after surgery.

I know much of the change in what I watch in dramas is to get myself back on track and that's I enjoyed OBGYN and OML and Wish Upon A Star so very much. I'm gonna catch last episode of OBGYN tonight! Aaaahhhh....Lee and Wang....my friend called me after the elevator kiss and was squealing at how romantic it was!

I'll keep popping in ..... will look forward to Coffee House!

Thanks Supah! appreciate you so very much!

@supah: Oh I will watch PP to the bitter end. The. bitter. end. Thanks for dropping the hamburger dress for V. (Ba ba ba ba baaa, I'm lovin' it.)

But like you I'm running to Giant. How old... is it legal to be watching this shirtless scene?! Oh wait he's old enough. I'm off and on still watching FTLY as well, and now I need to spill into an odd comparison: the white girls that are Annas dancing friends(?) or whatever are grating as hell, but the Commander dude in Giant isn't. I don't know how to make an argument on this but the case stands. I still need to watch the last 15 mins or so of ep 3.

@mookie,momosan,anyone who struggled through watching Tsuki No Koibito: Now that the cat is out of the bag... WTF Abe. Really? You're going to let them do that to you? The show really does seem like someones fanfiction adventures in Shanghai (when they've never visited) Ew.

@supah, again: And you know I have other things to watch,too-oh man they made Dae-Han cry in Windy Day.

@Windy Day Spoilers, does anyone watch this? Only Eiko who can't get the episodes! Well, more for me suckers! : They made Dae-Han cry in windy day fffffffff I come back to this? THIS? He sucked it up in front of everyone else and kind of cried in solitude. Then he spent the entire night in the dark. Sitting upright in his bed. Wide awake. All depressing like. Ahjusshi tears hurt the most!
