Giveaway hootenanny: CDs and OSTs!

It’s a giveaway! It’s a hootenanny! It’s a giveaway hootenanny!

Here’s the shortened version of how this giveaway came to be: gummimochi says, “Hey, I have this CD I want to give away to fans to celebrate my anniversary with Dramabeans,” and we says, “That’s a great idea, let’s steal it and give away LOTS of stuff, because as we know, more is always better!”

So we’re giving away OSTs, one from each of us, just to say thanks for being you, and for sharing our neverending love of all things kdrama.

Rules:

Leave a comment here (with your real email address!), explaining why you’d like to win the CD of your choice. Maybe this was your favorite drama EVAR, or maybe you really want that disc to use for dart practice. Whatever floats your boat. You may enter for any or all of the CDs (separate comment per entry, please), but be sure to specify which particular one you are addressing.

Note that winners will NOT be picked in a random selection; each of us will choose one winner, to be announced next week. Meet back here on Sunday, August 12, for results!

SHINee’s “Sherlock”

gummimochi:

This time one year ago, I could never have imagined that I would be able to share my everlasting love for variety, drama, and pop music to a beautiful you. Putting all those together, I’ve chosen SHINee’s new mini-album, “Sherlock.”

Min-ho will be headlining the upcoming drama, To the Beautiful You, where he needs to be clued in that a he might be a she. Not like it takes Sherlock Holmes-esque detective skills to figure that out though, but hey – this is kdrama-land.

You’ve Fallen For Me OST

kaedejun:

Time flies when you’re having fun! It feels like yesterday when I wrote my first recap, and I can still remember that experience. 12 recaps and 2 years later, I’m still living through that experience – which I’ll never forget – thanks to Dramabeans, where discussion, fan-girling (or fan-guying), and sharing flow through like streams of consciousness during the lazy days of summer. Speaking of summer – this is why I’ve chosen the You’ve Fallen For Me OST. Its OST makes me think of sunshine, happiness, sunflowers, and daisies. Really. And it features CN Blue’s Jung Yong-hwa and Kang Min-hyuk, which is one of my few favorite bands (second to the almighty Big Bang). So I hope you enjoy it as much as I have, and live this summer out as carefree and happily as the students of You’ve Fallen For Me. I’ll see you at the beach!

Chuno OST

HeadsNo2:

This is a soundtrack near and dear to my heart, not only because Chuno will always remain one of my all time favorite dramas, but because it also represents one of my favorite aspects of dramas and Dramabeans – the ability to bring people together. By melding history with modern sensibilities, it’s a drama that broke ground and appealed to a mass audience, whether they were seasoned sageuk lovers or complete newbies to the genre. No matter what our favorite genre is, we all look for stories with the ability to move us, to transport us to another world, to be thought-provoking, to give us a reason to want to gather and share our thoughts, our experiences, and our love of community. One hundred posts later, I’ve definitely come to treasure the discussion that happens here and all the wonderful insights I’ve learned from our time together, and hope you can enjoy a soundtrack that moved and inspired me as much as I did, if not more. Oh, and ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥.

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST

javabeans:

There are a lot of reasons for me to single out Shut Up: Flower Boy Band, like the fact that it remains, more than halfway through 2012, the drama that touched my heart the most this year. Other dramas had the big twists, the high drama, the epic conflicts, and the quirky high concepts—but Shut Up, despite its small world and small stories, had for me the sincerest connection with emotion and angst. The people felt real and the drama was fueled by that pounding, aching, fluttering and sometimes raging heart that drove its characters.

But you know what? All that aside, Shut Up: Flower Boy Band had awesome music. It had the deftest way of working its music into the plot, effectively making its soundtrack a running storyline like it was a character of its own. So there.

The King 2 Hearts OST

girlfriday:

An epic drama that managed to steal my heart in an epic way. The King 2 Hearts swept me up in its tense action, side-splitting comedy and sweet romance at every turn, and the score played a big part in keeping me enraptured in that world. It’s also a drama that reminded me of the fervor of fandom — you guys made the crazy train fun (also crazy), and I was happy to come along for the ride. This OST probably marks those few months in time — the OMG WHAT HAPPENS NEXT crack addiction — as much as the drama itself. Here’s to love in the DMZ, and sharing good dramas with friends from around the globe. Cheers.

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST :)

It is quite difficult for me to become completely enthralled with a drama, but this drama was different. I usually analyse what I watch just as much as the recappers(?), so I was glad that I wasn't the only one being sucked into the amazing-ness that is Flower Boy Band.

The music was so different from any other Korean music I've ever heard, and it was refreshing, like something I had missed from the K-pop scene. While the singers weren't difficult to look at (I'm looking at you, guyliner!), the music was what stole my attention.

So, here's my recap: amazing drama, amazing music... there's no other option for me. Shut Up, all the way :)

Thanks~ xxx

I hope that Girlfriday isn’t cranky yet from reading all the entries, because I’m tempting my luck for the King 2 Hearts OST as well!
Like a lot of people here, K2H will probably be my pick for drama of the year, at least on an emotional level. It’s one of those dramas that have obvious flaws but that you just can’t help but love (and by love I mean luuuuuuurve). While I don’t usually pay much attention to the soundtrack of a drama, this OST does elevate everything in that fictional world and makes it so real to the viewers. Every track was skillfully inserted so we can laugh and cry with the characters as if we were there with them. Never did I feel manipulated by the music (i.e. Feeling sad because the music was sad but the scene isn’t that emotional) or did the music takes me out of the scene (i.e. bad music cue). I was so immersed into the K2H world that listening to the soundtrack still has some weird effect on my brain:
- Whenever I heard the bgm that was played during JH’s rescue in episode 12, my heart rate would shoot up.
- Whenever K-Will’s ‘Love is Crying’ plays in my ipod, I could feel my heart wrench and my insides churn because images from the prison scene in episode 18 would immediately flood my mind.
- When I listen to some of the instrumental songs, I would smile to myself because my heart would swell with pride as JH’s awesome moment
That’s some serious Pavlovian conditioning there! Girldriday, you were the one who started the fandom, now you have to take responsibility for me! In Bong Gu’s words: “Why are you making me this way?!”
Maybe listening to the original sound track can slowly desensitize me you know? :P Here, the imaginary JH in my has some words for you
JH: Seriously, you should take responsibility for the crazy withdrawal symptoms you’ve caused to the English speaking netizens. That how a true leader of a fandom should act.
GF: But…there are so many of them!
JH: Yeah but it’s not my fault if you’ve made us look so awesome. Now deal with it. Just give it to Mawiie since she’s the one who gave you the opportunity to talk with me.
GF: Uhhh but it’s in *her* imagination.
JH: You mean you’ve never imagined yourself talking to me? Come on just give it to her *insert Seung Gi’s wink + dimple here*
JH: (to himself) Ah streeeess… Why do I have to wink in every fangirl’s imagination? Hang Ah will kill me if she finds out =.=

Chuno.

I knows a classic when I sees it.

The music for this drama (at least for me) informed my mood when i watched; do i root for the revenge? do i root for the love? do i root for justice? In the end, i was invested in all of it, the performances, the music, the wigs - dear God the wigs were fantastic. If i win this OST, i will listen to it while wearing my best wig.

The King 2 Hearts OST:

Though I have watched a lot of kdramas, I am usually not drawn to an ost unless it’s the tracks that are the most promoted in the drama (i.e. played repetitively, or at the beginning or end of a drama). That’s why I didn’t give much thought to the King 2 Hearts ost, at first. It was in episode 7 when I first knew this soundtrack was exceptional. It wasn’t the most thrilling scene, but rather a reflective one. One that was both ending and starting in the drama’s narrative as Lee Jae-ha, the new successor to the throne, steps out of the car and reflects on a highway bridge about the passing of his brother. It was in this moment the music first gripped me. It was breathtakingly beautiful and made me feel the emotion of the scene. It spoke of loss, urgency, determination, and evoked every raw emotion that could be associated with such an event. From this point onwards I was captured by the ost’s reliability to transform a scene from ordinary to extraordinary. Though a beautiful soundtrack, the true credit of this ost lies in its ability to capture emotion beyond the visual of a drama. Listening to the ost after watching the drama evokes the same emotions all over again, especially the instrumental pieces. It is a credit to the musician that I find the instrumental pieces to be extremely meaningful, a difficult feat considering that it contains no lyrics. This is why I would want to win The King 2 Hearts OST, not only because it was beautifully incorporated within the drama but speaks volumes beyond the screen.

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST!

I liked this drama because it gives off a completely different idea and plot compared to most dramas that focuses a lot on the love line (although there is always the girl that causes the problems in the drama). It's pretty much like the City Hunter in the genre of music. I especially love the ending how even though the boys don't become one band together, they are still friends and that was the main point. It's a lot closer to reality and very appealing to teenagers, especially students, because it's pretty close to the days we DO live in compared to the school life/world we WANT to live in.

What was even better than the drama was the OSTs! Instead of the dance tracks and all the auto-tune that we hear/see/watch when we thing about K-pop, the 5 songs in the drama are totally refreshing, especially when you're driving at night and you see all the city lights on (which reminds me of the boys roaming around the streets at night after band practice). The guitar/bass/drums are especially catchy in Jaywalking, while I love Sung Joon's voice in the song Wake Up. I hope I can win my first ever CD/OST...

Hello!
I would like to win the Chuno OST, because just like the Lord of the Rings, the music brings me back to the story instantly, whether it's Tae-Ha and Un-Nyun being chased by Dae-Gil et al., Seol-Hwa playing "a haunting melody of unfulfilled love between a man and his lady" or Eop Bok giving his all in his sacrificial final scene (I still get chills from that blend of scene & song...). I want to carry and listen to the OST wherever I go and have that smile on my face that will have onlookers puzzled...
Thank you, and please continue to bring us joyful, sad and cliffhanger readings ^^

I'd like to have the You've Fallen For Me OST. To be honest, this drama wasn't the greatest ever. Sure, main cast was cute, but plot was lacking a bit. Yet the one thing that kept me in this drama the whole time was the OST- loved the songs!! And as a result, the drama didn't fare too badly on my drama rating scale. The songs are so uplifting and give me energy when I listen to them. Never owned a drama OST either so this would be great to have (:

(King 2 Hearts)

I really wish I'd seen this when you first posted it, because I just went and bought two of the songs from the Shut Up! OST, along with a bunch of songs from other dramas. I couldn't find anything from King 2 Hearts on iTunes, though, so I'd really like that one. I'm not a big music listener for the most part, but kdramas have such a knack for fully integrating the music with the feel of the show that I love to listen to it again and feel all of those big emotions again. Plus, what better time to be reminded of international teamwork than during the Olympics!

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST!!!!!!!!!!!

There are no words to describe my obsession with this drama and it's music, however, I shall try my best so that you can better understand my feelings. The ost wasn't just used as background noise but was so deeply woven into the storyline that everytime I hear any of the songs I'm transported back into the drama. The ost was like feeling itself. Even if the actors had no voices and the music had been the only noise I still would know what was happening. Plus who knew that Sung Joon's voice would have such a hot raspy quality to it that would add depth and dimension to every song he sang, his voice alone making them come alive? This drama was an inspiring piece of work that didn't sugar coat the issues friends deal with as a group trying to find their own identities while still trying to maintain their friendship. I would love to own the ost so that I can remember the feelings this drama invoked in me when I can't find the time to rewatch it.

[ You’ve Fallen For Me OST]

"Korean Dramas Continue To Captivate The Philippines"

Korean artists have become more and more popular in Philippines. First is through Korean Dramas. Soap operas and drama series have become a staple for daytime and primetime viewing in the Philippines. The huge demand from viewers for Asian telenovelas has prompted Philippine TV stations to import Korean dramas.

Koreanovelas, as Filipinos fondly call Korean TV drama series, have been culturally integrated in the Philippine society for the past seven years. The term “Koreanovela” was coined following the popularity of Mexican and Asian television drama series in the Philippines. The term telenovella is a combination of the word ‘television’ and the Spanish term ‘novella’, which has the same meaning with ‘novel’ in English, thus making telenovellas refer to television dramas airing in longer periods of time. Add the name of the place of origin and we get “Mexicanovela”, “Chinovela” and “Koreanovela”.

Filipinos love drama and stories that we can relate to. Most of the time, the Korean dramas are quite escapist and moving. Aside from the touching plotlines, the production is really a visual experience of places that most of us are not accustomed to seeing. Koreanovelas give viewers a different style of storytelling from usual Filipino soap operas, or "teleseryes." Since Korean dramas are aired only two hours a week, compared to the Filipino daily 30-minute episodes, viewers can expect a faster pace.

Since then, Koreanovelas have become a significant part of the daily schedule of leading TV channels in the Philippines. In this generation, there is no day when you cannot encounter a Korean drama (also called K-dramas) in Philippine television.

As long as they appeal to the taste of TV audiences, Koreanovelas will continue to warm the hearts of Filipinos…

I've been watching Koreanovelas since i was 7 years old (and now i'm 15) ^^ The kdrama, HEARTSTRING, is really really my favorite kdrama ever!!!

What I appreciate most in this drama are the character development, back story and the story flow. It wasn’t dragging since the biggest conflict in the story was immediately presented and resolved in the first 6 episodes. It also had strong back stories for the characters not only for the hero and heroine but for the secondary characters as well. It’s nice getting to know the people in the story bit by bit.

The most prevalent character development in the drama is with Lee Shin. I had fun watching him fall in love with Lee Kyo Won. Nakakakilig! It was so nice being young. Ha-ha. Don’t you wish guys like them are real?

I also liked that their love story is not the typical boy-meets-girl-then-falls-in-love-and-the-two-are-against-the-world kind of crap. They didn’t go overboard making the characters head-over-hills in love with each other. And the heroine didn’t fall in love with the guy at first sight. Though the enemy-at-first angle of the story is very common, it was still effective since the first 6 episodes focused more on Lee Shin’s feelings towards the professor.
Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye have a very refreshing chemistry. It’s one of the things you’ll initially notice in the first few episodes of the drama. The setting is a plus too. It was very nice that this was filmed in spring which made the scenes pleasant to watch. And it added up with the drama’s romance.

Don’t you wish love in real life is as sweet as theirs? Oh and I’m totally captivated with the song I Will Forget You. Yes!!! It is my favorite song now ♥_♥ All of the songs in the drama is my favorite.. that’s why I would love to get an OST CD of it TT__TT I’m also a Boice!! (fanclub name of CNBLUE) that’s why I would be happy to get an item related to them!! I hope you will choose me.. I put so much effort in making this essay..  THANK YOU ALSO FOR DOING THIS KIND OF GIVE AWAY!! MORE POWER TO YOU GUYS!!!

[ADDITIONAL]

I love Heartstrings. I thought this drama deserved a lot more credit than many gave it: it’s a refreshing change from a lot of popular K dramas. It’s sweet and understated with lovely music and more realistic romance. It always stopped before going over the top and they kept the frustrating episode long misunderstandings to a minimum.

You've Fallen for Me~

oh gosh where do I start..

first of all, didn't really like the obvious premise to begin with - schoolgirl and boy meet yada yada.

but hey, summery cotton candy dramas are there to break up the intense ones, right? and park shin hye is just a sweetheart.. Was fun to watch, made me smile, made my MOM smile, which I still don't understand how..

but the storyline.. fluffy, no substance. one does get invested in the characters, but nothing really HAPPENS, except psh getting extentions in the last ep.

the ost however, was very fresh, what with the mix of traditional and modern. knew all the songs by heart subconciously, even when i would be shredding the drama to bits.

It might be a while before Jung yong hwa is able to shed his kim hyun joong-esque wood block acting, but his voice is to DIE for.. wouldn't be an overexageration to theorize that God had dipped that kid's vocal chords in honey before shoving it down that handsome throat... heh

Chuno~
you mentioned 'bringing people together?'

how uncanny...

my stepfather (of 2 years? 3? don't even remember now) and I have always gotten along. nothing really special though, he's always just felt like a guest in our house.

But during the airing of this drama, we'd almost religiously be down in the basement, at the exact same time, curled up on this saggy old coach, staring intently at the screen for the ep to begin. then let out a collective breath when it finished.

Man did we ever have fun talking about this drama. it drove everyone else specially my mom, up the wall. but hey... there's no stopping drama-nerds, we're unstoppable.

Not saying I'm calling him 'dad,' now, or anything as dramatic, but we talk now, and I'm starting to get to know a funny side that I never knew he had. That and his feminine side that gets him to cry along with the female protagonist even more often than i do :P

The King 2 Hearts~ now THAT is what I call an epic drama.

knowing ha ji won from 'bali' and lee seunggi from 'brilliant inheritance' and 'strong heart' I was eager for the drama to be successful, for their sakes. so I tuned in.

I didn't know anything about what the drama was going to be about, and wasn't ready for the complete state of withdrawal I'd be in for the weeks after the final ep.

In the year of 'time jump' dramas, and 'prince and the pauper' storylines, this premise stands out, hands down.

So creative, with great acting from EVERYONE (supporting cast: jo jung seok, and lee yunji, the cuties in both armies.. epitomes of epicness for lack of a better word), crisp camerawork, and overall the sweeping away of the viewer into the world that the drama creates.

and yes, if you can't tell by now, i was addicted to this drama and so was my stepdad.

and that is why I would love to have this ost so bad. the obvious happiness that would come from blasting it as loud as possible during carrides with my family.. and being ALLOWED to because of my dear stepdad's inclination for this soundtrack,

would make me INCREDIBLY happy :)

thanks...

The King 2 Hearts

I thought I would just pick one CD... but then... I changed my mind :-)
And the main reason is that I hope for a booklet with plenty of pictures of HJW and LSG!!! :-D
(Though I wouldn't mind some pictures of the king and the queen mother either... or the Scout boy... my heart bleeds...)

Loved the drama for the emotions.
And the music helped a lot.

My second entry for THe King 2 Hearts OST

Let me start off by saying this was my absolute, hands down, favorite drama that I have ever watched and it even beat Queen In Hyun's Man which now resides in second place.

The world was fantastical while still have a small bit of realism to that I could love and hate all at the same time. The entire time that this story was weaved into place I was glued to my computer, always waiting for the new episode, always waiting for the new recap to come out on this site for it. I had to know, needed to know what was going on.

Besides such a good written storyline and great acting what really drew me in was the music. The music has the ability to make or break any and all dramas and I think that it fit just right with each situation given the characters and the overall timing. That being said it was also one of the things I did the most; I had to listen to this music. It had an ability to soothe and invoke feelings at the same time and that is rare in itself.

I love this drama; very much so. All of it, acting, story, music. It's what drew me and and still makes me love it to this day.

That's why I would really want to have this in my collection of music. It's rare for me to even see these types of things based on where I live and how it's not readily available because people aren't aware of the culture of Korea. To jump at this chance and possibly receive such an amazing gift would be wonderful.

Thank you for the opportunity Dramabeans. I, along with countless others, appreciate it.

SHINee's Sherlock~

OMG!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR THIS AWESOME GIVEAWAY!!!!!! Woah!! I was kinda depressed because I can’t buy Shinee’s Sherlock because I don’t have money :((( but here I found hope!! Yey!!!

As for my entry for this giveaway, I’m going to Review everything about SHINEE....

“ My Deepest impression of SHINee within this 4 years”

The maturity of SHINee’s performances extend far beyond their years, but there’s something a little strange about seeing these boys (who are still boys in the most literal sense possible) controlling a stage that is a lot bigger than any of them. It’s quite daunting to watch, and sometimes you wonder if they’re here to work or to play. But for SHINee, I guess you could say that it’s both. In many ways, SHINee is a prodigy, and watching them is like watching an eight-year old teach quantum physics at an Ivy League university: awe-inspiring, but worrisome. It’s easy to confuse SHINee’s maturity on the stage with their maturity in real life, and it blows my mind a little whenever I remember that they’re still kids who are barely graduated from their teenage years. And it gives you a sense of protectiveness over these boys — not from the dangers of the world, but from themselves.

“What do you think about SHINee’s latest album SHERLOCK “

Even though i don't have the album, I listened to every tracklist in youtube..

> After almost two years of waiting, SHINee is finally back! On March 19th 2012, SHINee released their 4th mini album – Sherlock. Sherlock is finally the one album from SHINee that I like thoroughly. Usually, SHINee’s album has a great title song with a fancy music video, then there will be 1 or 2 good songs in the album, and the rest of it just don’t stand out at all. However, for Sherlock, the ideas, the music quality, and the vibe of the entire album is amazing as each song varies from another with its own uniqueness. The title song, “Sherlock”, is a so-called hybrid remix, which mixes two independent songs, in this case, “Clue” and “Note”, into a new song. I particularly like the concept of hybrid remix since it can create amazing and surprising effects when used right, however, even though the song “Sherlock” is produced by an entirely European team, I highly doubt SM Entertainment’s motivation of making this so-called “hybrid remix”. The two supposedly independent “Clue” and “Note” sound very alike, and “Clue” lacks an obvious chorus while “Note” has a constant tension as if the whole song is at climax. In my opinion, SME probably composed “Sherlock” first, then came up with the two sub-version of it, naming them “Clue” and “Note”, and finally used the name of hybrid remix to justify the three similar songs. Nevertheless, Sherlock is filled with energy and playfulness. The intro is classic and funky, and the overall melody is a lot more mature than SHINee’s early works like “Juliet” and “Love Like Oxygen” and a lot more playful and more interesting than their kpop-stereotyped “Ring Ding Dong” and “Lucifer”. The instrumental is rich and filled with different kinds of machine-like “noises”, which are assigned so delicately that none of them messes up the neatness of the song; in fact, these underlying melodies and noises help build up a vintage yet modern feeling to the song.

> As for the MV, it’s typical SM fare. Filmed in a set, the SHINee boys play detectives (duh) with Jessica spooking them over stolen art. It’s kinda corny, but whatever. With SHINee, it’s the dancing that I’m more concerned about. The choreography of their past hits “Replay“, “Juliette” and “Lucifer” are some of the finest in k-pop. The choreography for “Sherlock” is not by their frequent collaborator Rino Nakasone, instead it’s by a guy called Tony Testa. I’m not too familiar with his work but because of all the cuts in the music video, I couldn’t really judge how good the choreography is. So I waited until their first performance on M! Countdown and after watching SHINee’s lip-synched performance… how on earth can they sing live dancing like that? I mean the choreography is good, and different, for SHINee but it must be really tiresome for the boys.

SHINee Sherlock!

Although I love almost all the tracks from OSTs you 're giving away I really like Sherlock ^^
Ever since I've heard Ring Ding Dong I've been a fan and Lucifer is still my no.1 favorite song ever.

Also f(x) is my favorite girl group so When I heard Sulli and Minho will be staring together I couldn't be happier :D I really hope there will be an OST from "To the Beautiful You" with members from both groups singing ^^
But seriously, Sulli in the drama and Taemin look like twins XD

I'd love the You’ve Fallen For Me OST. Honestly, I enjoyed the music more than the drama, and when I listen to the OST I feel happy, so if i win the OST I will be happy.

The King 2 Hearts OST
I was finally able to suck my mother into kdrama world with this drama. I think that says a lot about how good it was when she previously couldn't understand my addiction. Now she's the one driving me crazy asking when a new episode will be up for whichever one we're watching at the moment.

Also: SOY UN DORITO!

(Would it help to say "happy happy anniversary, gummimochi!"?)

I would like the You've Fallen For Me OST because I will never be able to marry Yong-hwa but at least I would be able to cuddle with his voice.

But in all seriousness- I didn't think of just sunshine and flowers and unicorns when I watched (and rewatched) the series, but the characters really made me think of the sacrifices required in real love and life. And sure, maybe I'll never get the cool asshole music-prodigy boyfriend who makes me melt when he has his sweet moments, but it's the heart and soul in the music moments that gives me hope.

Shut up flower boy band please!!

I could listen to Sungjoon's deep manly voice all day haha. I think it's the best drama about friendship ever...at least in the recent years. Cried so bad during the final episode when they got back together and played for one last time. It was beautiful!

Shut Up Flower Boy Band OST for me!

I normally do not like to venture out of my drama comfort zone and decided to make this year a start. Watched loads of dramas including this one and found out that it wasn't bad at all. Made me learn that just because its not all fluff doesn't mean there's heart in the story. If it makes sense.

The King 2 Hearts

The King 2 Hearts OST is made up of only a few singing tracks, many of which I don't even remember; however, among the few that I do remember are Tae-yeon's "Missing You Like Crazy," which accurately and beautifully spells out Hang-ah's feelings towards Jae-ha, and Lee Yoon-ji's "First Love," which bittersweet-ly embodies Shi-kyung and Jae-shin's love, from start to finish and final continuation. I love these tracks, but I think the thing that really makes this OST stand out against others is the strength and emotion in its instrumentals.

This album has numerous well thought-out instrumentals that touch the heart and aren't just there to fill up awkward silences; they really draw out the viewers' emotions and connect us with the characters. Lots of dramas have random OST instrumentals that are all happy-go-lucky or are rather stereotypical and superficial in their simplicity; they're just instrumentals that I would never give a separate listen after watching the drama, nonetheless buy a whole OST album for. But The King 2 Heart's individual tracks are heartfelt; they shape and develop the drama just as the drama's scenes tug at our heartstrings each time we listen to one of these OSTs. They are deep and multi-layered: the tracks tell as much of the characters as their actions do. For example, Hang-ah's Dream - it's magically captivating yet a little sad; it reveals Hang-ah's idealistic and endearing dreams, along with her ever-hoping and ever-enduring perseverance. The King's Love and Emotion is another - hesitant at first but also very beautiful like a wedding song, it paints Jae-ha's yearning to be brave and his dream of triumph; it mirrors his story as he emerges successful after conflict; greater, stronger, and surer than ever.

I would love to make the The King 2 Hearts the first physical OST that I own, and be able to relive the rollercoaster of emotions I felt as I watched this drama by listening to these truly beautiful tracks all together, without skipping a single track.

I would like to win my cd of choice, Shut up Flower Boy band because i absolutely looove the drama and its an bonus to have an awesome soundtrack too! I really fell in love with each and every character within the drama. All the emotions, conflicts, and arcs touched my heart and i was emotionally attached to the show all the way. Shut up is definitely one of my top most satisfying and favorite dramas to watch and after i had finished the drama, I continued to listen to the drama's soundtrack. Whenever I listen to the songs, it brings back memories of the awesome-ness that is Shut up flower boy band.

I would definitely pick shut up flower boy band, I'm in love with that show so freakin much! I started the drama randomly and know anything about it. To my surprise lee min ki was in it, and I loveeee him so I was hopeful, and then he died!I held hopes that I would continue to like the show without him, who knew that I'd LOVE the show?! I mean the show had Awesome emotion, angst, characters, acting, AND an amazing soundtrack! The show was pitch perfect and the soundtrack really helped put the show over the top. The songs are great and just talking about it I feel the Urge to listen to the music! Having the cd would be such a great goody and of course winning it would only make that much better!

^o^ SHUT UP FLOWER BOY BAND!!!

to be honest i wasn't expecting much out of this drama, but it has become one of my favorites!! i was pleasantly surprised that this drama was more than just pretty faces -- it had depth and a lot of heart. i especially love how the drama centered its premise around the relationships the boys had with one another (**bromance** sigh~~). what i also enjoyed was the fact that the storyline had a nice flow and didn't try to throw a lot of drama down my throat and didn't drag out the conflicts for too long.

what i especially LOVED about SUFBB was the music!! each song was so refreshing and was integrated into the drama so perfectly -- from "jaywalking" which represented their love for Byung Hee and their struggle to make it into the music industry, to "wake up" which showed what type of music they actually wanted to make and their love for one another, to "Love You, Like You" which gave us a cute little love story that opened up Hyun Soo. Most especially, i loved the song "Today" ~ what a beautiful song sung by Sung Joon (i absolutely fell in love with his voice! *swoon*). one of my favorite scenes was when he sang this song to her after she lost the ipod -- i wish he would sing that to me** =p

there is so much more i could say about this drama but it seems as though i may have said a lot already and i don't want to bore you with any more details.

i just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of the recaps and for this awesome giveaway!! =D

I would like to win Chuno OST!
At first, I watched the drama for more Jang Hyuk and Lee Dae Hae chemistry (I love them in Robber) but the drama turned out to be unbelievably awesome, even though they didn't end up together. (You have no idea how much I cried for the last episode. He loved her so much and knowing they can NEVER be together again makes my tears flow non-stop. T^T)
As for the music, it blow my mind away (insert Mr.Simple song) with how well it brings up the tense and mood of the drama. The music producers are really good. On top of that, the song Jeodari (still in my phone) never fail to remind me of how sad and beautiful the song and the drama is. By having this OST, I can live in the sageuk era with Chuno again.

Other than Chuno, I would like to win SHINee's Sherlock!
I'm thinking of choosing between Chuno and SHINee for a long time before I notice "You may enter for any or all of the CDs (separate comment per entry, please)" *cries* Thank you so much for allowing this.
I love SHINee and they will always be my favorite group. I noticed them since debut (thanks to the news of Taemin resemble Heechul. lol) and listens to some of their songs but I never learn their names. Later on, the news of Changmin and his 'girlfriend' caught my attention and I learned that it was actually SHINee's Minho..haha..(I swear I learned about SHINee in a weird way) but I'm not really a Shawol until Lucifer came out. Omg, that awesome song completely turned me into a Shawol overnight and now SHINee is like my sun and moon that I can't live without. ^^
P/S: Thank so much for running this awesome blog for all the Korean dramas lovers! You guys are great authors and kind too for organizing a great giveaway like this. Thank you again! Fighting! =D

I'm going to make my request for the King 2 Hearts cd Gumiho style! K2H means a lot to me and here's 9 reasons why I think I deserve the cd:

1. I louve Lee Seung Gi
2. K2H was the first currently airing drama I followed (as in I'd - only seen completed dramas before this)
3. K2h was the first time I felt the magnetism of kdramas - every Thu/ Fri morning I'd be late for work as I'd be refreshing the DB page for the recap
4. I was so addicted that I watched the episodes raw at night, read them on DB in the morning, and then went back again to watch the eng subbed version on the weekend
5. I was so emotionally invested in the drama I rem thinking that there is no way I can wait another week for the next fix. I would constantly scour the net for spoilers. I cried (at work!) when I learnt of the hyung's death and when HangAh lost her baby
6. When the show ended, I chose to extend my happiness for a few more weeks by listening to the OST NON-STOP. I literally have it playing on Youtube all day long (my fave is Sad Sky)
7. While I read DB almost every day, this is my first comment. When I read 'Giveaway' I just crossed my fingers and hoped you were givivg away something LSG
8. These cds are not (legally) available in my country (India). So I don't own a single kdrama cd! This would be my first
9. GF - I'm your biggest fan! No, really. I love the way you write and I share your taste in dramas and your love for LSG.

Please please pleasssssee let me have the cd! I'll even send you a special handmade postcard in return!

You’ve Fallen For Me OST!!!
This is by far one of my favourite dramas. It was a feel good drama. The songs are so bubbly, sweet and I'm in love with every single song. I used to listen to the songs everyday (sometimes I still do). I love listening to them when I'm down because it instantly put me in a good mood.
I wish I could own the dvd but since I can't I would really love to have at least the OST. It would be my very first Korean CD.
Thank you for this amazing opportunity.. It is such great idea.

Who wouldn't want THE KING 2 HEARTS OST!? I so want to win the king 2 hearts cd! The biggest reason I want to win this soundtrack is because The King 2 Hearts is one of the best dramas of all times!!! I cannot find any better reason than that. I love this drama like crazy, to the point where I re-watched the entire drama in 3 days, staying up all night until I got dark circles looking like a panda bear, and watching it every minute and second I can. I jumped, screamed, laugh out loud, giggle, cry and even had the desire to punch my laptop screen (I was probably as crazy as John Mayer at that time). This drama sure brought out different kind of emotions out of me, because my love for The King 2 Hearts is beyond words. Best of all, John Mayer has to be one of the best villain ever. He is so freaken crazy and weird in the head, but yet, very entertaining with his psychotic ways. My love for this drama made my condition so severe, that I was getting withdrawals after the drama end hahah. Most of all, Lee Seung Gi, Ha Ji Won, and the rest of the cast made this drama the best of all times. Winning the soundtrack would be really great so that it can bring me back to every moment of The King 2 Hearts!

Thanks and best of luck to everyone else!!!

Hi! My name is Tina and I would really like to win the Flower Boy Band OST for my best friend Crystal. We graduated high school together last year, and this year I was really glad to remain close friends with her. I try to hang out with her as much as I can when I come home from college even though she lives 30 minutes away from me and I cannot drive (yet!). Anyways, this past year we were planning on watching the series Shut Up!: Flower Boy Band together, but after we watched 1 episode together, I told her I could not watch it with her since it was too good and I wanted to know what happened next. Therefore, I want to show her that I am sorry for not waiting for her to watch the drama together, especially since we both ended up loving it so much and making it one of our favorites. Also, her birthday is coming up next month and I want to give her something really special. For my birthday, she gave me the poster that I really wanted (Tablo!) and had mentioned wanting over 6 months before my birthday! However, my brother also got me the same poster for my birthday. Even though I want the OST for myself, I want to give it to her in order to show her that I appreciate her, that she is still one of my best friends, and that I am sorry that things were not perfect this past year. She was also the person who introduced me to this site, several years ago. Thank you.

I would love the SHINee Sherlock album. I really want this album because they are the group that brought me into kpop. I must honestly say that I never really took a good look at listening to K-Pop and I did judge. But I was on tumblr and I saw some audio posts etc. and I decided there was no harm in listening and I fell in love with them immediately and started listening to Kpop. Now K-Pop is pretty much my life and I don't regret a thing.

Chuno:

I enjoyed the beginning of Chuno a great deal, but I wasn't truly sold on the show until that epic moment when... Han Jung-soo took off his shirt.

From that moment on, the drama had my, er, heart.

King 2 Hearts OST.
If I could win this CD I would be extremely happy. It would be the first OST CD that I have of any drama.
It is one of the most touching dramas that I have seen. Making me laugh and cry, sometimes at different times and other times at the same time. Not only is the soundtrack awesome but so are the actor's abilities to portray their respective characters and allow their audiences to feel what they are feeling.
It would especially help me to relax and feel close to a drama now that I really won't have time to watch dramas once my senior year starts (homework and after school activities -_-) I am a big fan of dramas and I know it will be quite difficult to stay away from them. I would be so grateful if I could win the King 2 Hearts OST CD and thank you for offering all of the fans this opportunity. ^_^
