Thrice Married Woman’s three-way wedding teaser

Sometimes these concept teasers that are more like commercials for the drama rather than a peek at the actual show are effective, and sometimes they feel like they’re cheating because they’re behind schedule. While SBS’s new weekender Thrice Married Woman is definitely behind schedule with its backstage hijinks, the teaser itself actually doesn’t disappoint. I like it. It’s simple, pretty, and cheeky: Lee Jia gets all dolled-up for her wedding day, and Song Chang-eui and Ha Suk-jin wait for her at the altar. Together. HA.

The weekend family drama from writer Kim Soo-hyun (Childless Good Fortune, Life Is Beautiful) stars Lee Jia as the host of a home shopping show, with one ex-husband (Song Chang-eui), one new husband (Ha Suk-jin), and a title that suggests a change-up down the line. She has a daughter with Song Chang-eui but can’t handle life with his shrill mother, and divorces him after four years. The daughter ends up being raised by the heroine’s parents, and the little girl’s favorite day of the week is when she gets to see her dad.

Song Chang-eui plays to type, as the gentle, kind-hearted first husband who still nurses lingering feelings for his ex-wife and delays his mother’s attempts to have him remarry. Ha Suk-jin plays the chaebol second husband who’s used to being chased by women for obvious reasons, but when Lee Jia rebuffs him, he falls in love with her and becomes her second hubby. He’s cool and charismatic where Song Chang-eui is warm and timid, which makes for a nice rivalry.

Eom Ji-won plays Lee Jia’s unni, who lives in a studio close enough to home that she eats all her meals there. She makes clothing for dogs, which sounds oddly specific, but anyway it connects her to Jo Han-seon, a vet who loves dogs and has commitment issues. She harbors a one-sided crush on the vet, who can’t grow up to save his life. Case in point: his family pushes him into a wedding and he lets himself get strung along, and at the last minute he chickens out and runs away. I’m just glad unni gets a love interest, even if he sounds like a man-child. Through the two sisters at the center of the story, the drama promises to explore the difference between the way their parents’ generation and their own sees marriage and divorce, and how the modern family is evolving.

Thrice Married Woman premieres November 9.

I refuse to let myself being influenced by teasers anymore: They almost never reflect the final product.
I love the cast and the writer and I'll be happily enjoying a nice modern family drama during the winter.
I'm worried about the tight schedule though. I hope the actors took their vitamins...

Song Chang-eui! Gah, he'll forever be stuck in my head as the loving husband to Lee Young Ah's character in Golden Bride. It's why I say, forget the chaebol, go for the ex-husband!

But anyways....not watching it; something tells me it'll be filled with annoying drama and I doubt the quality would be as any good as the teaser seems to be suggesting.

Me too! I always think Golden Bride or Life is Beautiful whenever I see him, and he'll always be those two characters. I do want him to be the lead here though, I have such a soft spot for Song Chang-eui.

Not that I'm actually watching the drama, lol.

But but but Ha Suk-Jin...
Then again...I do like this other guy. And I have an inkling that hes gonna come out the winner in the end. But I think I'm most excited for the sister's romance. That is one cute man child. It's so different to see Lee Jia all dolled up after only ever seeing her in Me Too, Flower.

OH me too!
And I really..don't like Lee Jia as an actress. For some reason, her acting never ever compels me as sincere...and I don't think she is very pretty :(
Golden Bride was like crack.

This drama, though, does have some grrrreat lead men. I still wont be watching because...I just don't like Lee Jia T_T

This is one of those dramas that screams miss instead of hit for some reason. I just haven't connected with Lee Jia at all. She is one of those actresses, whose dramas just go to the end of the pile for me.

Airbrushing much? That doesn´t even look like Lee Jia in the first picture :( I didn´t even know it was her until I read the article. She looks pretty in the other pics though, I don´t get the need to make her look like another person.

After all the hijinks, I actually look forward to this show simply because of writer Kim Soo-huyn's reputation. I usually advoid weekend drama, would spend time for a meaningful and realistic story rather than some insane makjangs. This cast doesn't have any actor that I love particularly, but they are strong actors. Now I will wait patiently for this.

So if it's thrice married woman does that mean she is later going to remarry her first husband (or second husband after a divorce) or are they planning on introducing a third guy later. Has that info been released?

I'm thinking you'll have to watch the show for that. Or at least wait until it's out and people start posting more about it.

I think it's this too.

Can't be thrice married unless she remarries the divorced 1st husband. Or is she gonna divorce Hot Bar to?

According to the synopsis, Ha Suk Jin's character will have an affair with an actress played by Jang Hee Jin; he already sounds like a loser so I strongly suspect that LJA will reunite with her first husband who she probably never stopped loving either. And, for once, I'm glad that a drama is not taking the 'divorced women are all saints and their ex husbands should rot in a pit' angle. It usually (though not always) takes two to tango.

I was watching the teaser distractedly and when I saw Song Chang Eui and Ha Suk Jin together at the altar I thought: oh, a gay loveline again for Song Chang Eui eh eh (like in Life is Beautiful). Not sure it was supposed to look that way, but it certainly did to me!

Lol... I myself was just thinking that Lee Ji Ah doesn't have chemistry with either one of them. Another gay storyline might not be so bad after all :-D

I was pretty much going to pass on this one since Lee Jia is a dead fish on screen to me. But now I feel obligated to check out Mr. Saengchori, Mr. Life is Beautiful, and of course Mr. Manchild. Please be good!

Well, if the lesson to be taught is that men with a lot of money are almost always unfaithful dogs I suppose it cannot be taught too often to balance out all of the Prince Charming stories.

based on the title that means her 2nd marriage also doesn't go well and she will divorce with Ha Suk Jin too...and in the end she will need to chose between both guys for them to remarry.
