Entertainer adds Chae Jung-ahn, Kang Min-hyuk

Well, that was fast. Ji Sung only just confirmed headlining SBS’s upcoming showbiz drama Entertainer, playing an agent struggling to regain his former success managing K-pop singers, and now we’re hearing more names pour out of the production as additions.
Chae Jung-ahn (Yong-pal) has confirmed joining the cast to play a manager who has a loveline with Ji Sung; he’s the hero who formerly worked at a large-scale company named KTOP, then sets up his own business, Mango Entertainment, after he’s unfairly forced out. Chae Jung-ahn will work at a company named Ocean Entertainment, which sounds like a mid-size company; it doesn’t have any mega-stars, but she has a good relationship with the actors she does manage. As befits her style, the character will be a stylish professional with a cool personality.
Next up, we have CN Blue’s Kang Min-hyuk (Heirs) in talks to play a character whom Ji Sung takes under his wing in forming a band. This is the role previously offered to Park Bo-gum, and on the downside, it’s kind of a big step down in star power, but on the upside at least I like Kang Min-hyuk, who has a boyish charm that makes him very sweet. The role is set up to have a bickering bromance with Ji Sung, which ought to be a lot of fun. A rep stated that the production was searching particularly for an actor who could both sing and play an instrument, so casting an existing idol band member to play your drama’s idol band member makes a lot of sense.
Hyeri is still in the running to play another lead role, and Kang Min-hyuk’s character will have a crush on her.
Entertainer will be a Wednesday-Thursday drama on SBS premiering on April 20, after Come Back, Ajusshi ends its run.

Just today I was wondering who they cast to be the idol, since PBG declining it and KMH automatically came to my mind. I'm so happy with the confirmation! They could also invite CNBLUE members as cameo.

Glad their mentioning love lines. The other thread was awash with concerns of a Ji Sung-Hyeri romantic pairing.
I have a thought, how about no pairings? Can we eek out a story without triangles ?

Don't get the hyeri bash lol.If anything I would rather want her to not take this drama and do something else which is more a director's drama not just a conventional one.She acts best when she does a good project,and she proved that what matters is the production and the hand which shapes the characters.So not just the actor themselves are responsible for making a project work.

It has only been a week since Hyeri was discharged from the hospital (and is still receiving treatment at home) and if Entertainer is due to premiere in April, the cast and crew should already start the production (and if not, they would have to do things faster = sleepless and tiring nights)

I think Jisung won't have a loveteam. Maybe Hyeri's character (if she accept) will have a crush on him but that's it. I think the pair really is Hyeri-Minhyuk. That is why they are trying to cast PBG at first because they probably want a Hyeri-PBG reunion. I really think that will be love love team.

Writer is going with similar theme as producers but with music industry as a background. JS and CHA have long term friendship, young actress (I hooe not Hyuri) will have crush on JS. KMH has crush on young actress. You see where i am going

Wow, this is a great move for Chae Jung-ahn! I really liked her in Yong-pal and I think she'll have good chemistry with Ji Sung. This is definitely a chance for her to elevate her acting profile. After Kill Me, Heal Me, I would think most serious actors would be clamoring to work with him.

Is this drama even happening? Jun Ji Hyun's baby is only a month old and Lee Minho will probably enlist this July (most 30 year old celebs enlist about a month after their birthday). That hardly gives them any time. I don't even see any drama slots open. The window is pretty tight to film a pre produced drama for the Chinese market that's ready to air before LMH's enlistment. If they don't film soon, he won't be around to promote it.

The Drama will happen he just sign a new endorsement with the Gov't Seven Luck Casion running for a year. He won't enlist until mid-2017.
As of now the Drama is holding up for JJH but whether she will make it or not is not sure due to timing and it really dosen't at the end of the day but he has time on his hands thats all that matters

I'm really hoping Hyeri and Minhyuk have the loveline. They would look adorable together. Just scrap the ridiculous love triangles and just let Jisung and Hyeri have their own separate lovelines. The focus of the drama should be on the agent and his singers' rise to glory.

Wait.. wasnt Hyeri sick?? wasnt she diagnosed with meningitis and should still be resting? How the hell is she going to be on this if it airs after CBA? If they dont have the full cast by now, it means they would rush even more than usual wih heavier shooting schedule if thy want to air in April.. that cant b healthy for anyone...

And the potential love lines fill me with relief. I had dreaded them pairing Ji Sung up with Hyeri, but now that I know his romantic interest is Chae Jung-ahn, I am so relieved. And I think Hyeri will pair up well with Kang Min Hyuk. I am looking forward to watching this drama now. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will have the same charm as Dream High 1.

I love Ji Sung and Chae Jung-Ahn and will probably check it out for them, so I hope it's good. Also hope they are OTP, and the two younger actors have a loveline with each other, so that there are two parallel pairings rather than some pointless triangle.

Well that sounds a lot better than previously reported. At least it's an older actress who will have a love line with Ji Sung. What a relief. I might actually check out this drama now. Really not liking these kid actresses being paired up with way older men. It's just wrong. Sorry Yoon Shi Yoon. See you in your next project.
