Drama viewership ratings for the week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4, 2016

If you’d asked me a few weeks ago, I wouldn’t have been able to predict that Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim would be the first of the weekday primetime dramas to surpass the highly coveted 20% mark—but the times, they are a-changin’. The show continued its steady upward climb this week, netting a very impressive 21.7% with its even episode, leaving its competitors wallowing below the 10% mark. For shows like The Man Living in Our House, even getting 5% would be a blessing at this point.

Legend of the Blue Sea still seems to be finding its footing with viewers, as evidenced by its shift in numbers each episode. But this week brought the fun in a big way to the fantasy series, and that was reflected in the jump up to 18.9% on Thursday. Oh My Geum-bi, the heartwarming tale of a resilient little girl in the face of a bad daddy and a bad disease, reached 5.5% this week. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju, the other underdog show, remained close behind at 4.6%, but all three shows in the Wednesday-Thursday circuit are worth watching this cycle.

Of course, the big premiere was definitely tvN’s The Lonely Shining Goblin, which was victorious over the enormous amounts of hype that preceeded it, netting a very high 6.3% for a time slot that had been vacant for the network since The K2 ended. It also rose over a point for its second episode, netting nearly 8% (with a peak of 9.7%). I would not be surprised to see those numbers climb astronomically in the next few weeks, and I’m sure the execs over at tvN are popping champagne and lighting cigars right about now. I’m just happy Gong Yoo is back, only now, I want him to be in a sageuk. Preferably one by the Six Flying Dragons team. *dreams*

Yay for Goblin. I love Kim Goe Eun and Gong Yoo altogether with Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na.

Although sometimes I don't really care about the rating in korea, I'm happy that TvN is winning that much this year. Its dramas this year are beyond good. Here's to hoping more awesomeness in 2017.

yoo in na in this drama? lol just kidding but you could easily have missed her at all in episode one. I mean what did she do that she seems now type cast as the second female lead? I mean she not the best actress out there but we all know best actress and female lead do not always mean the same thing, unless it her choice, just who did she p*ss off that she seem out a contention for lead roles any more.

Yoo In Ha is "second lead" in a drama that LEE DONG WOOK is "second lead" in, honestly with this casting, i wouldn't worry about first or second leads and so on.

Omg, that jump! I'm so so happy Goblin's doing well. Either way, I would've stuck through with it from beginning to end, but I know how important ratings are and what high ratings mean and brings to the drama's cast and crew, so yay!

OMO! Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim is not on my watch list, even though I like both leads, so I never bothered checking the ratings. I also have no Monday-Tuesday dramas on my current list. But that 21.7%! I'm now curious if it's worth watching.

Try first two episodes for you to know. Just dont immediately drop it after 1st episode. First episode probably quite a cliche medical drama. Try at least until epi 2.

In my opinion, it is worth to try. I'm not a fan of medical drama but this drama imo deserves the rating they got.

Okay, now I'm really interested. I think it's the word "Romantic" in the title that made me think it's similar to the fluff Doctors was.

0

Agreed. Not only better, but the plot is different so far.

@royal don't be confuse with its title "Romantic Doctor". If I can compare with Kim Rae Won's role in Doctors ( he was sweet, gentle), no one is like him in this drama. ?

0

It's totally different from Doctors.

What I love about RDTK is that all the leads aren't the stereotypical doctor characters but are flawed with lots of baggage. But they are trying really hard to do their best despite it all. So it isn't just about the big baddie manipulating the hospital politics alone. And I'm really starting to root for them all to grow up and succeed.

So like @mel said it's a bit like House cuz Dr House is kind of messed up as well. Lol.

I hope many people will read your comment. I cannot say any better than you ? now I'm a little careful (maybe) to compare with Doctors because my comparison could be misunderstood ? My straight comparison RDTK is better in overall -acting, plot etc. It is good to see all doctors want to do the best and even they are arguing not merely because of jealousy.

0

Its not the adjective 'romantic' its noun, a synonym could be idealist. Its the romantic from romanticism.

I accidentally watched episode 8 thinking it was episode 1. Granted I had no background whatsoever to who the characters are, halfway through the episode I was bawling my eyes out... I was hooked... The acting is superb. It is a touch melodramatic but never stays that way too long.

I'll not be surprised if Goblin reach two digits soon, and i am happy for the casts. Go Yoo and Dong Wook deserve good rated drama. Kim Go Eun so far has good rated drama (CITT also had good rating) and maybe with the success of this drama, she will go to public stations after this. And Yoo Inna, when will this beautiful lady graduate from secondary role? I hope after this.

Rooting for Weighlifting Fairy to at least reach 5%-6%. SBS can smile this year especially the current Mon-Thursday drama are doing well. Their weekend drama (Our Gabsoon) even not a hit still managed to get good rating. I think the drama is getting better and better every week. Gabsoon's Omma and Appa broke my heart this week. It is quite a good plot, about the couple's long relationship. Seems like this drama is about how to find love again, or something like that. It is different plot from MBC and KBS weekend drama imo. I'm rooting for this drama to get 20% in some more episodes.

Father I’ll Take a Care of You premiered months later I think.
I don't watch weekend family dramas but it doesn't look like a threat in the rating department.

0

Kiara, yes. Father just started few weeks ago after FIP ended. It is OK so far, I guess after some more episodes, the rating probably can surpass Our Gabsoon, who knows. Weekend's rating is not something so competitive for now unless there's revenge drama like Geum Sa Wol, or Jang Bori which can exceed 30%.

Maybe SBS planning it differently now, instead of airing 2 different weekend drama, they go for one drama and air it back to back on Saturday. Gabsoon also just pick up on the rating especially after 20 episodes, maybe because the story becomes more interesting compared to earlier episodes.

0

SBS weekend dramas always tired when cometition with MBC dramas, for you know, MBC weekend dramas always have huge ratings (20% ~) but I think viewers now boring with MBC makjang dramas.

Required fields are marked *

I don't think ahjumma will ever get tired with makjang drama lol. Makjang drama is tiring but addicting.I think if MBC airing drama like Geum Sa Wol or Jang Bori (of course with some crazy villain and outstanding acting ) then the show will get bang, maybe can reach 30% ++.

0

At first I thought it is because it doesn't competing with any drama but I was wrong. Both episodes competing against MBC drama Blow Breeze and Father I'll Take Care of You. Our Gabsoon probably has bit advantage over Father because the former already half way and the later just began.

Speaking of quality, I rather don't talk about quality of weekend family drama so much because of the rating. Laurel Tree Tailor (KBS) is expected to get the highest because if I'm not mistaken it doesn't competing against any drama.

KBS2's weekend dramas run from 7:55-9:15. This means the first half goes up against newscasts and TVN's weekend drama (Goblin at 8:00), while the latter half overlaps with MBC, SBS (both 8:45) and JTBC's (8:30) weekend dramas.

The rating still great as usual. They have the advantage over MBC, SBS and jTBC since it is started earlier.

0

I also think Laurel's rating won't be too affected with Goblin because the target audiences are different. Weekend family drama mostly for ahjumma, while Goblin at TVN probably more for younger ones (although I also think some ahjumma ahjusshi are watching it too ;) )

0

KBS weekend dramas rating always even lowlest stills higher than 20%. I really angry about it.

Why get angry though? Its just a drama and even so quality wise, KBS weekend dramas are slightly higher in quality than those of MBC makjangs and SBS so its ratings are somewhat deserved.

0

KBS weekend dramas are awesome.

Five Kids was just amazing and I'm loving Laurel Tree Tailors. The cast is superb, and Ra Mi-ran is my bias.

0

I don't mind with their high rating, 20% ++ is a normal rating for them. I don't think the drama is top quality, but KBS weekend drama is fun to watch. Although I must admit Laurel is slightly boring compared to Five Kids.

0

I dont know why you get really angry with KBS weekend drama as for me their weekend always good in storyline & their actors is great even they not famous actors. Their target audience is ahjumma/housewives which they can feel related with storyline.

0

Not sure if anyone will read this since I'm posting this late, and actually this is a reply to some of the replies below since there are no reply buttons there.

Regarding target audience: according to Naver comments the ratio of male to female commenters on Goblin (and other popular dramas) is close to 25:75, mostly in their 30s. In comparison, Laurel Tree Tailors has a more balanced ratio, approx. 45:55, also in their 30s. Laurel's setting is about men's suits and not family dynamics, so not sure about the ahjumma relatability. The assumption that KBS weekend dramas are targeted at housewives may not necessarily be valid in this case; ahjussis watch dramas too.

Five Kids vs. Laurel: the tone of Five Kids remains relatively constant throughout the drama so it's more or less consistently enjoyable. There is a purposeful extreme of tone in Laurel that goes from laugh-out-loud humor to subtle contemplation. The subtle parts can come across as boring for some people, but if the viewer is in the right mood, it can come across as poignant and heart-warming. I'd like to compare those parts to philosophy books - mostly boring if you are looking directly at the text, but insightful when you think about the meaning. In other words, the two dramas are different and I just don't want readers here to think that Laurel is a worse drama.

0

"replies below" should be "replies above"; didn't know where the comment would end up.

0

@passing by

No one is saying that Laurel is worse drama, so no worry on that part. I think that's about preference when I said that I found Laurel slightly boring than Five Kids.. I am regular to weekend drama, even now I am watching all weekend drama except Blow Breeze that I stopped watching a while ago.

"Laurel’s setting is about men’s suits and not family dynamics"- It supposed to be. But in my opinion, the story is still on the family dynamic, and less on men's suit, just like some other weekend family drama. I remember Hundred Years Inheritance, the synopsis was about a family runs a three generation old noodle house but looks at the story itself.

0

@Sera The Ms Temper

Oh no, my comment wasn't to accuse you of saying anything (if it offended you in anyway, I apologize). I know everyone has a preference. I just didn't want a rare comment on the drama in this site to be one that could give people who haven't watched it a more negative impression. That's why I offered a different comparison. And yes, there are suits and there are family dynamics, but I think the dynamics are a little different than the usual. A lot of family dramas are specifically about family, while here family is one part of a man's life (this should include women too, but the drama sells itself as a story about gentlemen, and the suit here is the symbol of a gentleman's pride/dignity).

0

I angry about some really boring dramas stills reached 20% although other channels try so hard.
KBS now air really boring weekend dramas now. Five Children is good at first but it lost to mountain and turn into another makjang drama. So I dropped it.
All About My Mom is really boring with super slow speed. I heard that they copy What's Happens To My Family's script. What a shame.
Laurel Tree Tailors, they have some big name, but the story stills is the problem. It's not strong enough.

Required fields are marked *

Yes I much prefer her in chungmuro as well. But doing drama probably will help her to gain more popularity ? Especially if the drama has good rating.

We have seen her in movies before we see her in a drama. Her role in Goblin is not favourite, but it is good chance for her to prove that she can act bubbly character as well. I know we will see some development on her character later. She and Park So Dam (Cinderella and Four Knights) are too talented to be wasted in some candy roles, but they might want people to see them differently from their roles in movies.

Personally I do too, but Goblin will get her some love which she needs. When the casting news came out K-netz ripped into her calling her ugly and talentless and a hole in the stellar cast. I want her to get some love before she goes back to chungmuro.

@Sera The Ms Temper

I wanted to catch you here as I doubt you'll go back to the most recent Open Thread.

This is the last comment I left in reply to yours:

Oh dear…

Well this is awkward… (joking)

Hmm…

Were your ears burning? (expression used to describe when someone knows someone is talking about them)

So, yea… our exchange from the other day is what prompted my little hissy fit (it was definitely a hissy fit, I can see that now)

But I don’t want you to get the idea that this whole comment was an attack on you. Our exchange was just one of multiple other exchanges with multiple people that led to my comment. Ours just happened to be the most recent, so I used it as an example.

Your remarkable restraint and the civility in your reply to this is commendable, and I appreciate you not getting angry.

In retrospect, after having calmed down since posting the rant (I took a cold shower! ;) Lol…), I think I overreacted to some extent.

My post I think was perhaps a demonstration of my own hyper-sensitivity, so I apologize if you feel singled out.

As others have pointed out in their responses above, ensuring you are civil and clear in commenting, and that you aren’t misunderstood, is a never ending endeavor, one that takes effort and is imperfect.

I think my rant was a reflection of my frustration at not being entirely successful in that regard.

I hope we can move on gracefully and courageously into the future and forget our little misunderstanding.

As fellow Beanies and drama buddies!

As I mentioned above, all’s well that ends in K-drama.

It's great there are so many high rated dramas out there right now. Dr. Kim on M/T, LoBS on W/T and Goblin on F/S. I'm super curious as to how high Goblin goes. Reply 1988 numbers? It's possible since it's trending higher than it is right now, but I'm not sure it'll reach people of all ages like Reply did. It's a fantasy drama, not a family drama with an addictive husband fight, so we'll see.

Honestly, I'm being vain right now, but I will watch anything with Kim Go Eun in it because I think she's so pretty. To make it even better though...she's not the only looker casted all four of them are pretty. This drama will take me to the grave... I'll even put up with the writer.

Moving on to Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim, it's just so off-kilter at times and I love it. All the characters are annoying and flawed but loveable. I never really understood why people are so into strong female characters or asshole males when they are written terribly. I want a female character that has her strong points, but also isn't afraid to be a little vulnerable. I like broody male leads who aren't always right, who may be a little pretentious but they're trying to be their best selves. Glad Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim gives me that.

I haven't watched this week's WF, but I'm sure it's cute. Are they still using that hilarious shocked noise that originated when NJH's character thought he cut off the main Girl's finger? I hope so.

I am only watching goblin as for kdramas. Had started watching LOBS, but have not seen the last two episodes, it's just I will admit I'm not a big fan of JJH, I don't know why but in kdramas sometimes there are these actors or actresses whom I have never warmed up to like moon chae won, song hye kyo,han hyo joo, etc. I didn't watch any of song ji hyo dramas either before, but MWIHAA changed my opinion for her, at least the story did. Somehow the actresses I mentioned appeared a bit more on face ,less on essence to me, may be it's a personal thing. But because of this I had to drop lots of buzz worthy dramas, :'( like W, that winter the wind blows, which I was hell bent on watching but then even the blind heroine could not make me sympathetic towards her, and I again blame my choice here. So same goes for LOBS, sometimes I have to give it to JJH, because she's so funny! But then again I don't see any chemistry between LMH and her, and LMH looking so young against the mature JJH isn't helping either. I would probably pick up the drama from time to time just to catch up on the story but that's about it.

Glad to see Goblin's ratings increased to 7.9% in the 2nd episode. I really wish that it beats Reply 1988 ratings, because this show truly deserves it. KES is back with a bang after Secret Garden. I literally hated DOTS, because it was too cheesy and for me it did not give normal KES writing feeling. I might be the only one who really hated that drama. Normally KES dramas have some kind of aura which is very magical and beautiful and the magic last for lifetime.

It is sad that The Man living in our house started with around 10% ratings in the initial episodes and now seeing a dip in the ratings after each episode now and shocking because ,it is less than 5% now. I am also not following the show lately, as it got kind of boring, but i think this would be my first time witnessing a drama which started out so good with ratings, and is now going downhill.

Romantic Teacher Doctor Kim, is good show, but i dont think it deserves 21% ratings. around 15% is good for this show IMO. I dont have the interest , that eagerness to watch it when it airs, episode by episode, like some other dramas, maybe because it is neither too interesting or neither too boring. Just stuck in the middle. I watched upto ep 8 and i think i would marathon it later. I absolutely hate the title of this show. They could have chosen some another name.

Hoping that Weightlifting Fairy increases its ratings , because this show deserves high ratings. This show is full of warmth, fluffy and cuteness. I watch this show, always before Legend of the Blue Sea, because it really just touches my heart, and i totally relate to the characters, specially Kim Bok Joo.

I think next week, LOTBS might cut the 20% mark. This show, everyone knows that it will get high ratings, despite some filler episodes, which actually is really fun to watch. It has a plot, but has not ventured too much deep as of yet.

KES didn't write most of DoTS despite getting most of the credit for the success of the drama. She just came in later and added the cheese.

i am really so glad to read good feedbacks about WFKBJ. i really love the cuteness of the show. i hope they will have higher ratings because that is what they deserve. but i am happy that they still got 4% despite of the hype of LOTBS.

I think i might be the only one to notice that, this years dramas a lot of the title includes the name of the lead character.
It might be the trend for this year.

1. Another Oh hae young ( Oh Hae Young)
2. Shopping King Louise ( Louise)
3. Our Gapsoon ( gap-soon)
4.Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim ( teacher Kim)
5. Oh My Geum-bi ( geum Bi)
6.Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju ( Kim bok Ju)

I just hope that Oh My Geumbi ratings will increase, not wishing for anything too drastic but maybe nearing double digits.
Shamelesslly gonna promote the drama here, people watch it! Its so heartwarming yet light hearted and who can resist lil' Geumbi??? Heo Jung Eun is gonna grow up to be a phenomenal actress, I can feel it in my bones

Romantic Doctor is kinda boring show. Too makjang and overacted. It has good ratings but not too many people talk about that. Perhaps it will just like What Happen to My family. Despite the roar ratings, once it ended, it will just gone.

Loving Goblin so far. Surprisingly a good show though I'm not fan of KES's writing. The bromance is too strong that makes me not too care about the female leads lol. Gong Yoo + Lee Dong Wook, what else you need?

LOTBS, nothing special. I'm watching it for JJH only.

Geumbi is surprisingly pretty good. I hope it has better ratings

I think JJH is carrying LotBS (no, I’m def. not biased). The story is somewhat dull even with the premise and the modern times scenes are just plain, without any substance. The back story is interesting and JJH’s antics are really entertaining, daesang nomination worthy? Who knows...

I’m prolly in the minority thinking that KGE is a little awkward portraying Eun Tak, and there are actresses that are more suitable portraying Eun Tak imo. The gross amount of aegyo (this is fully on writer) is certainly not helping me warm up to this ship, which looks more like uncle-niece pairing, but, well everyone on here seems so enamored by the whole show so... but Gong Yoo is great as always and Yoo Inna is gorgeous. Seriously, she matches her character so well.

I definitely agree with you on RDTK, slightly overacted and makjang but I think I’m also in the minority in thinking this way. I really couldn’t get invested in this show. RDTK is definitely not better than Doctors, at least acting wise and pacing wise. But there are some, who are still ’traumatized’ by the fact that x show got episodes cut and these individuals place the blame on to certain another show, hence the vitriol...
Well, It’s all about opinions I guess?

"But there are some, who are still ’traumatized’ by the fact that x show got episodes cut and these individuals place the blame on to certain another show, hence the vitriol…"

If my undersranding is correct, I don't think your sentence above is relevant to people enjoying RTDK more and comparing it with Doctors. Most people make the comparison because these two drama are highly rated medical drama this year and probably it is easier to compare these two, which one is better. People get more curious because of the high rating and the comparison cannot be avoided. Of course in the comparison some things will be taken into consideration - plot, acting, factor for high rating etc.

After all, it is just like you said, it's all about opinion. I noticed this drama probably not that famous among beanies (looking at the recap section) so you may not in the minority who don't enjoy it ;)

Romantic Doctor wins over all medical dramas in terms of two things, shouting/ yelling and spreading all blood to whole faces lol.

I stopped watching it because can't take it anymore. If you mean good acting is yelling/ shouting, I will give it to RDTK otherwise nope. The only good thing about this drama is Doctor Kim/ Mr. Han. Other than him, all actors are too overacted with trying too hard for the romance department.

Not get the hype over the Goblin either. Maybe I should watch 2nd episode. The only good drama in my hand now is Oh My Geumbi. That's all.

Anyone here already predicted Goblin's ratings beforehand? It's Kim Eun Sook's drama afterall. Her dramas always have high ratings and wildly popular, regardless of broadcast stations or PDs. Whatever spells she cast on Korean viewers, it works!

I am so thankful to MBC for airing my top two dramas of this year. As long as Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Ju stays fluffy and adorable which I'm confident it will, it and Shopping King Louie are my favorites of 2016.

Currently watching romantic doctor teacher kim and my wife is having an affair. Checked out Goblin.

It seems that I'm in the minority here since I cannot get the hype of Goblin. The visual is indeed great but the content has not piqued any of my interest. The setup is somehow illogical to me since the goblin has too much power in hand, IMO he should be called the Omnipotent God instead. And a big NO to the romance of the main couple, don't get why the writer insists to make the heroine a high-school girl *sign*... With that in mind, I will stop watching the show for now, and may be pick up later if there is any improvement in the story.

Well done to Goblin, will marathon once there are more episodes.
The contrasting fortune with fellow TVN drama Entourage... What happened there, Seo Kang Jun finally got his lead role without any script hijacking and the results are a disappoitment.

Goblin is miles better than LOBS, miles miles miles, in everything. From storyline, to directing, to actors. Mystery in LOBS make me feel angry but in goblin is exciting. Goblin is like reading a good book, you cherrish each page. LOBS you want to skip parts to know how and why.

If Goblin and LOBS in the same time slot, Goblin would win easily. Goblin will have higher rating than r88. Lobs will have much lower rating than dots.

I'm enjoying LOTBS as well, but I totally get what you mean about the book comparison. With LOTBS I have many questions and they're starting to frustrate me. I have questions with Goblin, too, but the mythology as a whole is so rich and interesting so far that I don't feel lost. I think part of what LOTBS is lacking (besides, you know, a clear plot) is in the lore. We're not given enough information about the mermaids, in my opinion. Maybe we'll get there eventually but LOTBS definitely feels like a "fantasy lite" show, which I guess YFAS was as well. From a world-building perspective it really pales in comparison to Goblin.

And believe me, I NEVER thought I'd be loving Goblin and thinking LOTBS is just okay. I loved both YFAS and Producers while I haven't liked any Kim Eun-sook dramas I have seen so far (DOTS and Heirs, didn't finish either of them). Also, while both shows have great casts, I felt more excited about JJH and LMH than Goblin's cast.

And look where I am now...

I have a theory that the world Kim Eun-sook is creating in Goblin has helped her to write with more "substance" than in the past. She has more to work with here and I'm guessing she had a lot of fun creating all of this. I hope she can sustain this for 14 more episodes.

Sadly the only drama I am watching is Night Light and it doesn't get much love here. Very likely due to the lack of english subs.

It's a wonderful drama with compelling co lead females, and I love that our big bad wolf is our leading lady.

Not to mention the music score, love the music score so much.

It is quite underrated show here, maybe most of the reason is due to lack of eng sub. I am enjoying it so far especially I love strong female lead and in this drama, both female leads are strong and smart.

Korean viewers seem to like medical dramas. Sigh. I gave them a try this year...bad idea. I could not get over DOTS doctors running around disaster areas in shorts and with zero sense of safety precautions during surgery. Doctors was a complete bore. Sorry for the rant. I hope Romantic Doctor is good, but I won't be watching it anytime soon.

Really happy that This Week, My Wife Will Have An Affair kept its steady ratings. Kinda hoped that it was slightly higher, but 3% isn't bad either. Super sad it's over but 12 episodes was the perfect length in my opinion. Lee Sang-yeob and BoA are way too freakin' adorable and cute, I want a whole drama with just them. :') For anyone who is on the fence about watching this drama, I would highly recommend it!

Rooting that Weightlifting Fairy to get a decent rating. Glad they are slowly but surely gaining new viewers each week. They pulled a 3 last week and this week is a 4 ! Who knows maybe its going to be a 5 ;).

The low ratings for Bok Joo and Geum Bi is just a travesty. Two really good dramas that I anticipate every week more than LOTBS.

The production value of Goblin is just crazy. It's like watching a movie/fashion show/commercial all rolled into one. I really like the cast and am glad Gong Yoo is back on TV (still waiting for you Yoon Eun Hye). The story is good so far but I am a bit worried about the romance because I don't see the chemistry. They look like uncle/niece to me. Maybe it was meant to be that way since she is only a means to an end for Shin?

Even if it lacks the romance for the leads, it still has a lot of great stuff going for it. Yoo In Na and LDW pairing looks to be promising and the frienemy setup between Goblin and Grim Reaper is hilarious plus Sungjae's antics can fill the rest of it.

Now I've thought about it, I think I know what's the problem with Entourage.
Even though people think they are interested in how actors are living their life, they aren't actually. I mean those who work in the entertainment industry have a very dull and boring life!!
And this is the problem with Entourage it's way too realistic and boring.

Too realistic - I think so too. That could also mean they act so well. Those boys look so natural that I feel like I am watching Roommate or some variety show- no acting. I might be one of rare people who enjoy the show and frustrated along with Eun-gap/Jo Jin-woong.

Right now, I'm only watching WF and Goblin. I stopped watching LOTBS because even though I adore JJH's acting, the story just wasn't intriguing enough for me... I'm sticking with reading the reviews and if things get more interesting I might watch a bit.

I'm absolutely adoring WF, though, and I'm so sad it's ratings aren't the highest. Hoping MBC doesn't cut down its episode count because I really love the current pace. It always gives lots and lots of light every W/T, and I'm so excited for next week!

Goblin has far exceeded my expectations. Admittedly, I thought its first teasers were a bit cheesy but I saw its positive reviews and decided to check it out and.... it is a masterpiece. I can sense it crawling up my favorites list and it's only been two episodes! It has the perfect blend of melachony, fear, and comedy. I love all the characters, too, and it's been a while since that happened. Well, all characters as in 1st and 2nd leads. The aunt sucks.

I'm so madly glad for Goblin's ratings because the pilot was amazing on so many levels and because i want Gong Yoo to finally get a good drama and get away from the image of Coffee Prince and of course stay also in dramaland and i second u guys in him being in a drama by the writer of Six Flying Dragons,he looks badass in historical period!

Happy as well for Romantic Doctor because i really love the show...The only sad part is about Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo,the show deserves much much more than what it gets!!!It has heart,it is funny and an endering heroine!!!

Okay, I'm surprised to see how high Romantic Doctor's rating is! And here's the thing: I REALLY liked this drama a lot from episode 1. I found the characters interesting, and the chemistry between the two main leads is amazing. Not to mention I love the acting and medical stuff (huge House fan). However, I hit episode 5 and somehow it lost its charm for me. I got tired of the constant bickering (so much yelling!!) that seemed to go in circles between the all the characters who more or less keep acting the same (pathetic) way. Of course I like flaws (that scene where she was hallucinating with the scalpel - oh my that was heart stopping), but the weird shift in episode 6(?) that dumped in like 4 more characters I'm not invested in... what's going on?? I'm still reading recaps and seeing if I should jump back in at some point... but man the ratings are so high! Is it just me after all? lol
