Drama viewership ratings for the week of Nov. 21-27, 2016

Surprisingly, Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim might reach the coveted 20% mark before Legend of the Blue Sea—granted, the two shows air on different days, but it’s pretty interesting to see a quirky medical romcom(?) pull in higher numbers overall than the insanely hyped and star-studded mermaid drama over on SBS. I could be comparing apples and oranges here, but getting close to 20% is a huge milestone for any drama these days, and since the two couldn’t be any more different, it’s going to be fun to see how both shake out in the coming weeks.

Night Light premiered over on MBC, replacing the slot previously occupied by Woman With a Suitcase, and aired to moderate numbers. It’s too bad it’s unavailable for international audiences, but what can you do. Its competition is stiff with Romantic Doctor, while The Man Living in Our House continues to decline, and seems now content to hover at just below 4%.

Obviously, Legend of the Blue Sea is taking up most of the viewership over on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and saw a moderate rise in numbers to reach 17.1% this week. But Oh My Geum-bi continues to hold second at under 6%, while underdog Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju remains in last. At least all three shows are charming in their own ways, making the middle of the week a good time to watch dramas.

Over on cable, Entourage managed to eek out a single percentage point, but lost it in its Saturday episode. The reception seems poised to remain chilly over in Korea, and I do wonder if this will cause investors to pause when taking on American remakes. But tvN still has The Good Wife as a shining example, so maybe we can just take Entourage as a fluke. A fluke with hotness (and the amazing Jo Jin-woong), but a fluke nonetheless for a successful cable network like tvN.

I was expected that Night Light would be a bit darker, but maybe it won't go darker that it is now. Although no subs, I will still watch it. I don't know giving the exclusive license to Neflix is good or bad thing, and it will air on Jan next year. Hopefully it means good thing.

Our Gabsoon has become my fav weekend drama. Although I am still disappointed a bit because the show is not about Gab Soon mainly (that's why the title shall never misled viewers).. Looking at the increase on the rating made me happy and I want to be happy for Kim So Eun. Her character seems to be better , and this drama shows her maturity now. I love that she becomes stronger. I am rooting for her happiness and success at the end if this drama, and ate everyone who insulted her. I still cannot like Gab Dol and I don't care about him and his family in this drama. But this family drama for us.

Still watching and enjoying Romantic Doctor, Weightlifting Fairy and My Wife's Affair. Hoping WF will reach 5%. I feel like most of us mostly watching because of LSK and same goes to me. Bok Joo and her friends are the best part so far.

Having almost 20% rating is shocking surprise for that kind of show these days specially since its not nearly as hyped as Legend of blue sea and doesnt have huge movie star as the lead+ Lee Minho.

Also there is no Park Shin Hye fame to live on like in Doctors, i adore Seo Hyun Jin but she isnt rating hit leading lady yet.

I wonder is is because of the acclaimed older male actor who is known in Korean film world.

Han Seok-kyu is a much respected name in Korean cinema. People will tune in just to watch him.

0

Han Seok-kyu is not popular in drama land. Most drama viewers don't watch movies but he is an amazing actor, one of the top talents in Chungmuro. Like junny said, well respected with the likes of Song Kang-ho, Choi Min-shik, Ha Jung-woo etc. Shiri has almost all of them in it. One of my favorite rewatch movie.

Lee Min-ho is not a huge movie star. Not even close. He is a huge hallyu star made popular in dramas and CFs.

Chungmuro is not like drama land. Actors have a lot more to prove in and it takes a long time to make it there.

0

I meant to say that Han is not as popular in dramaland among young actors, most are not familiar with him but older generations do.

0

*among young viewers*

I'm full of fail today lol.

0

@Kiara I think the 'huge movie star' the post is speaking of is Jun Ji Hyun hence the '+ Lee Minho'.

0

@Mia thank you. Like I said I'm full of fail today lol.

Mohammed also said "acclaimed older male actor who is known in Korean film world" and she/he was referring to Han Suk-kyu.

I don't think you're one of the few... lol since Ratings-wise, Romantic Doctor is up there! though if they went head-to-head against each other, I don't know who'd be on top.

I love medical dramas, but I have an obsession with fantasy-esque (with historical elements) dramas/stories. but, I am not particularly a Jeon Ji Hyun fan, and I can only watch Lee Min Ho when I like his leading lady. I don't mind Seo Hyun Jin, and I love Yoo Yeon Suk (more than LMH). So if it's me, I think I'd pick Romantic Kim Doctor as well!

I really like Romantic Doctor (although that title is ridiculous!?) I think of it as the Korean version of Grey's Anatomy, if you are familiar with that show.

Well, they had "W", that was a huge success. "Monster" was big too.

Good dramas of MBC this year: The Flower in Prison, Goodbye Mr. Black, Shopping King Louie, Marriage Contract, One more happy ending, Glamorous Tempation.

Actually, I think they had a pretty solid year.

Flopped: Lucky Romance and Sweet Savage Family.

Wouldn't say Monster was a hit if it only averaged 9.7% (for perspective, it's slightly higher than Shopping King Louis and you can't call that one a hit).

Marriage Contract and Flower in Prison did predictably well, but Father, I'll Take Care of You lost MBC's weekend domination to Our Gap-soon of all shows. W is MBC's only decently-rated weekday drama.

Required fields are marked *

But you can understand why Father I'll Take Care of You is languishing ... the plot is not engaging - doesn't seem to be going anywhere, and the characters are all rather bland. Laurel Tree has a lot more going for it in terms of a family weekend drama.

Required fields are marked *

W was a modest hit at best. It didn't reach 14% in AGB ratings and only averaged 11.63%. It was the leader in its timeslot and had good online buzz but it's not the runaway smash hit DotS, Doctors, and Moonlight (and now RDTK and Mermaid) were. Qualitatively good doesn't necessarily mean succesful.

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

W wasn't huge hit. It was solid moderate success. People hyped it so much first 4-6 episodes, yet "meh" story made it hard to it even stay at 13-14% range, with falling down to 10-9% in second half. To be honest, until now I think people overpraised it. All it had just interesting premise, but expect that everything else about it was kinda cliche.

Wife deserves all the ratings it gets but let's see how Goblin will shake up things from next week.

Plus, all JI viewers, Were all the instrumental osts released? I guess they didn't release all of them because I can't find a few.
I am having major JI withdrawls, after such a long time I was invested this much in a show and even though I'm watching WF, LOBS and Wife right now, none compares to the excitement I had for Thu-Fri when JI aired.

What would it take to get Im Joo-hwan a lead role? If he was a freaking idol he would've gotten one a long time ago. One of the things I hate about drama casting.

I'm not sure whether all the instrumental osts were released in JI's soundtrack album, but after listening through the album, most of them are in it. The only instrumental I find missing is "The evil lady laugh" (sorry if my description rather vague and not really helpful in pinpoint which one I referring to). As long as the "No! No! No!" is in it, I think that alone on repeats is enough to make in glee.

Same here. I weirdly feel like experiencing a k-drama dry spell after JI end, even with all the good shows around. Hoping that Goblin could put an end to it? That's if TvN could revolutionise KES writing?

It's a tough spot for Goblin to premiere considering that next week will be Wife finale week. How things will turn out, I guess only time will tell.

Quite a pity for such a well written, well produced show.

Personally, I think anything could happen in drama land's rating table. Indeed we could predict the rating for a certain show but for me, it's possible to do so after its rating establishes certain pattern. Consider the fact that Goblin haven't premiered yet, I personally find it difficult to be certain about its performance rating wise.

On a more positive note, let just hope both shows doing well.
I have no doubt that Wife will be able to hold on to its audiences considering that it's a well made drama based on what I had read about it and able to surpass 3% rating even though the K2 still steadily hold its ground around 5.5% rating.

I even watch things he isn't in, just to hear his co-stars/friends talk about him. I don't think I've ever done this for an actor before.

Omg entourage's low viewership is worrisome... But i can understand why people dun watch it - the plot itself is ambiguous. I dunno what is the focus for each ep. There is no clear theme too. If it is abt bromance i find it too forced. I have a soft heart for bromance but this drama just dun get me. And i dun think it is a chemistry problem. The romance is lacking too. I dun really get why the male lead is so in love with sohee. I think the best highlight of this show is eun gab and the cute manager. I enjoy their scenes as they feel more 'genuine' than other scenes.

I think it is just the lack of buildup and backstory of all the relationships. Something is seriously lacking. But jo in woong acting is still up there. Will prob just watch for him....

Tvn, u have disappointed me this time round. Well i guess it is impossible for each of its drama to be successful so lets just let this pass.

I tried giving a 'go' despite the criticism but it failed to impress me as a viewer. It's just really all over the place and you're right something about the bromance. It just seems really force.

Don't get me started with the romance.

Hwarang would be in a tough fight though since its airing is when dr romantic would be at the peak point of its plot? coming to an end soon..

Hello Fellow Singaporean! Well, we almost had one more broadcaster...*cough* Mediaworks *cough* till it was quickly swallowed up by the reigning Mediacorp lol.

My comment will probably be swallowed up by the rest but I think the daily family drama "Tanglin" airing on Ch 5 right now is quite good. Covering taboo issues like pre-marital sex, pregnancy out of wed-lock, mental illness, inter-racial relationships which is a big leap for Singapore's media scene. Writing, cast chemistry/acting and filming is on point. I think it's sort of a live shoot system as well? That series is one that I would love for other countries to watch and grow to love too!

But nothing worth to watch, mostly about affair+the wife return to revenge (Marriage in narrow lane), stupid story show how mens-who-like-girl to make jokes (to viewers laugh?), break the rule between family members, sitcom,.. They only focus on reality shows and Miss Beauty show.
For an example, the most popular drama in our country is Forever Young (co produced: Korea) peak rating is 7.1%.
While the most popular tv show in our country is Thank God, You Are Here! is avarage 10-20%.

Hmmm, Romantic Teacher Dr Kim... feels familiar. A bit like "Doctors" (or maybe a lot). Both of them aired on Mon-Tue, with doctor-theme, and got similar ratings. Those are ratings for nationwide, while in Seoul itself RDTC has reached 20%. Well, to me, it's just another "Doctors" story. And Doctors to me was like... flat, and yet... boring. I still dont understand why it had such high ratings, maybe because PSH? And this drama, is it because SHJ or YYS? But, I dont know, maybe Seoul and Korean people really like doctor-theme dramas, while I still haven't found what the dramas have that really worth for such high ratings.

I wonder if RDTC is popular overseas. Well, if it is, they worth it then.

Well I have to agree when you said Doctors was boring. But RTDK is waayyy more better than Doctors. Though they have similar medical theme, they have different plot story. And to me, RTDK has more realistic medical drama (well, minus the kiss in episode 1). I personally enjoy it, for now.

Agree for you, at least for now RDTK is way better. Doctors was having potential and earlier episodes were great until it became so boring. So far Beautiful Mind is the best medical drama this year for me, and let's see if RDTK will continue its pace. Less romance, less politic -hopefully.

The main problem of Doctors was the lack of an actual story. And I don't like PSH acting at all, she is totally overrated to me.

In the end, I was just more interest in the characters of Lee Sung-kyung and Baek Sung-hyun, who sould get a spin-off of their own. Eom Hyo-seop, for example, was just a blank co-star. but he shine in Shopping King Louie, because of the better acting material.

RDTK is a mixture of House, Grey's Anatomy and Night Shift, so I really enjoying.

And you do have a plot, which keep getting interesting week after week. And the actors are just insanely good, even the young Kim Min-jae is doing a nice job.

OK but this goes to show that the main characters aka yoo hye jung (PSH) and hong ji hong (KRW) acting skills were so good that people tuned in, despite the thin plot.

Like it or not PSH has shown good acting and she has improved project by project. She might not be your cuppa tea, she is not my bias either, but it’s so freaking ridiculous to attribute her success to just being popular, UF had two very popular leads but look what a domestic flop it was lol.

YYS or SHJ are not as popular as PSH in Korea or international, and Doctors' rating mostly contributed by PSH's popularity, not because the drama was well written and not because of daesang worthy acting.

But not in the case if RTDK. Acting are solid by three leading casts and the plot is great so far. I'm not touching about the medical procedures because I have zero knowledge on that, but this drama has the better and intriguing plot so far.

I'm pretty sure Park Shin Hye being popular was not the reason it got good ratings. If having a popular actress/ actor in a drama to that then Scarlet Heart should've gotten massive ratings with the number of popular actors in it same with Entourage. Uncontrollably Fond was a huge flop despite Kim Woobin and Suzy in it. Doctors ratings were pretty low during the first week and started picking up after the second. That shows people didn't tune in just for Park Shin Hye cause that would mean the ratings could've been better that first week. The logic of using popular people in dramas are so wrong. If the drama is crappy it doesn't matter who's in it! You don't like Doctors cause it's boring? Well the majority of the people like it cause of the heartwarming breezy tone. It's nice to watch a drama where you for once don't feel anxiety and scared for a character. Makjang is interesting and all but there comes a point where it gets too much. It's nice to take a break for that and that's what Doctors did.

I don't understand why so many use Park Shin Hye as an excuse. Oh drama does well? It's cause she's a popular actress with a lot of fans. Oh the film flopped? Must be because of Park Shin Hyes bad acting. Like geez people pick one reason and stick to it. I didn't mean to rant I'm just tired of people always using an actress or actor to validate anything.

Doctors was a hit, accept it everyone. Whether you like it or not, it did well. And Park Shin Hye does not have the power to force a huge majority to watch her drama. Also stop hating on her acting, gosh you film one bad drama and get labelled for life. Btw this comment is directed to all haters and not to just who I'm replying to.

Lmao at people who still whine about PSH. I’d call her overrated if she had won daesangs and bunch of top excellence awards, however she hasn’t so I freaking don’t get how she is overrated.
Fan love is a different thing where number of factors affect.
And as far as I know, people tuned in for the drama for KRW as well LOL. Just get over the fact that these two actors are considered good in THEIR home countries. No need to be salty af

Before you are saying we are haters of PSH, get your facts right. I am not her hater although I am not her fan. Just because we don't keep praising her won't make us as her hater.
By the way, you didn't mean to rant but you already are. So no way to turn back, right?

And I chose not to prolong the matter or reply your argument because I was simply made the the comparison between Doctors and RTDK to explain to @diana that these two drama are different although have similar theme, at least on what I've watched RTDK so far. I don't think I need to feel sorry because I was never insulted PSH in anyway, unlike what you stated above.

Yall don’t need to praise her. It’s been frustrating to see after heirs that year after year people still complain bout the same things. PSH has had other projects, both dramas and movies and has shown consistent growth and people still keep ranting about same things all the time. I actually feel sorry for friends, who like her acting, because they keep seeing the same comments over and over again.
And NO, popularity isn’t the only thing that could make people tune in to a drama, PSH certainly hasn’t power to do that lol

0

@queenjihyun

You are right popularity isn't the only thing that make people tune in for the drama. But popularity still one of the big factor, otherwise why would many production pay more to cast popular idols/ hallyu stars in their drama? It is for rating and profit. Of course plot plays important part too, but we can count how many drama have good plot from beginning until the end.

PSH certainly has some power on attracting viewers, it is her status as one of the biggest actress in 20s ( probably she's the only one big and popular actress I 20s right now) and she is one of hallyu star.

0

NO YOU GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT! Never once in my comment did I say you're a hater! I also pointed out that comment was targeted to those that uses actress/ actors as an excuse for popularity or flop of a drama. Also I didn't praise Park Shin Hye I'm just saying people shouldn't be so hard on her as well for others in general. "Unlike what I stated above"? Um where? I just explained why people shouldn't call out the success of a drama solely because of one actress.

0

I'm not even gonna reply anymore after this. It's just sad now. By the way it's "Daisy" not "Diana", doesn't matter since you didn't read my comment correctly, cause if you did you would understand I wasn't attacking you. I only replied to your comment to explain that it wasn't her popularity that to led to the dramas success. I didnt ask you to feel sorry. And the last paragraph I wrote in that comment, I specifically wrote it was directed to those who hates on her acting for whatever reason and not to you. I don't know if you skimmed it or whatnot. I believe a dramas success is based on the storyline and chemistry along with acting. It's okay if you don't like a specific drama everyone has different tastes. Just cause you didn't like the drama, doesn't mean it wasn't "well written". The drama did well domestically. Ugh I'm done. I didn't write that comment to specifically offend you.

0

@Daisy

Before you used all capslock to embarrass yourself, with the intention to say that I was wrong/ did not read your comment, see that I was replying to original commenter which is @diana, please read above. Oh no you already used capslock. So no turning back.

"Btw this comment is directed to all haters and not to just who I’m replying to."

This clearly including me, because you was replying to me. You are clearly offended with the "so-called haters" like you claimed and attacking people out of nowhere. I read your comments, I got your points but we all agree to disagree.

Lastly, have a nice day..

0

Difference is Park Shin-hye is not a popular k-pop star. She has acting experience since she was a child.

Scarlet did not have a number of popular actors in it beside Lee Jun-ki. It had a number of popular idols with crappy acting. Even worse in a sageuk. (Excluding IU because she can do well in modern dramas).

The comparison doesn't make sense. Popularity in the music industry doesn't make them popular actors too.

Scarlet had more popular actors in it compared to Doctors though. Scarlet had Lee Jun Ki, Kang Ha Neul, Ji Soo. All three are very loved in Korea while Doctors only had Kim Rae Won and Park Shin Hye. Doctors wasn't a massive hit overseas though. I'm not naming idols because you're right idols don't matter unless they're trying to sell it overseas.

Daisy, your information about Doctors' first week's ratings is totally wrong.

Doctors was a hit from the first episode.
In fact, it won first place in its time-slot with 12.9% with the first episode, and 14.2 % with the second episode, meanwhile, its direct competition (same days and time-slot, i.e. Monday and Tuesday, 22.00 hrs.), Beautiful Mind (a medical drama too) only got 4.1% in its first episode and 4.5% in its second episode.

So, people immediately tuned in Doctors, from the very first episode. People didn't even give Doctors' direct competition (Beautiful Mind) a chance.

The ratings for that week:

http://www.dramabeans.com/2016/06/drama-viewership-ratings-for-the-week-of-june-20-26-2016/

So, your statement is wrong:

"Doctors ratings were pretty low during the first week and started picking up after the second. That shows people didn’t tune in just for Park Shin Hye cause that would mean the ratings could’ve been better that first week. "

Doctors' first week ratings were extremely good, they won first place in its time-slot, and even got 2 digits ratings, something that now is extremely hard.

@Daisy 10.3.1.3.2
Doctors was a huge hit in Malaysia and Indonesia, it was also popular in Taiwan, although Moonlovers was more popular in Taiwan...

0

What does beautiful mind has to do? No one mentioned beautiful mind ratings and if people didn't give a chance to beautiful mind, as you say, it is because everybody is entitled to watch whatever they want. Doctors had two digits rating from the beginning, if people would have wanted to watch BM they would have done so despite the competition And It's two digits competition and BM would have gotten high rating too.

I am not a fan of PSH's acting but that's as far as I will go on that because the girl is such an awesome human being.

Secret Door :(

Yes hopefully. I want this drama to have good plot until the end. Praying hard.

0

Yeah! So glad to see Han Suk Kyu in a great, popular drama. I liked him since his role in Tree with Deep Roots, but I couldn't finish Secret Door. >_<

0

I finally caught up Doctor Kim but needed more Han Suk-kyu so I went back and watch Tree with deep Roots. It was perfect for a rainy weekend lol.

0

Han Seok-kyu is my favorite Ahjussi. I've fallen in love with him since Scarlet Letter... and fell even more deeply in Tree with Deep Roots.

0

Love him since the movie Shiri :).

0

@Kiara

Shiri was my first introduction to Han Suk-kyu as well, but he won me over from his movies, "Green Fish" and "Christmas in August."

If you're looking for more Han Suk-kyu stuff to watch, maybe try the 1997 movie, "No. 3" if you haven't watched it already and if you can find it. It's a gangster comedy with Choi Min-shik and Song Kang-ho. This one is also Song Kang-ho's breakout role because he was hilarious in it. They reunited to do Shiri after this movie.

Green Fish is also a great movie if you haven't watched it already. It's Lee Chang-dong's directorial debut and I think its one of Han Suk-kyu's finest performances. I'm not watching RDTK but I'm glad his drama is doing well.

0

@Dopefish

Oh my gosh...Lee Chang-dong's Green Fish? You are the best! Thank you so much <3.
I looked it up at my usual movie hangout and they have it with sub. YES! Off to watch it.

We Married as a Job - doing pretty good and that ending dance move with Hoshino Gen's Koi is doing promotion now. Latest Preview alone generated over 5 Million views in 4 days. Everyone from Main actors to side characters have tried the dance moves and there videos are easily available on youtube. It feels really good to see that side characters aka actors actively participating in the promotion process of the show.

After a while my heart is so into a Romantic Drama. The show is magical and thankfully Manga to Live action adaptation is done well by director.

I'm doing little mistakes in those dance moves but well i never was good into dancing so these simple dance steps are taking a while to memorize.

Ratings matter - Audiences entertainment and satisfaction matters - And that's where Show has hit it big. No. of talk shows having news about show clearly shows the fact of audiences interest in the show. A show more driven by Characters than popularity of actors.

He was actually perfectly casted. I love Gakky (but for her role, I can also see either Ueno Juri or Ayase Haruka!)

I have actually only seen one episode of the HBO version of Entourage. But I am really enjoying the Korean version of Entourage. I like the quick banter and a lot of the dialogue. I find myself laughing and rewinding. I enjoy the developments of the non-romantic relationships such as between the still learning manager, Ho Jin, and his tough but sensitive mentor, the president. I think Turtle's struggle is relatable. Who hasn't wondered if life is passing them by. Even Adele sings about it in, "A Million Years Ago". I hope that this show becomes what the movie, Heathers, became in the U.S., a sleeper hit that grows its audience until it is looked back on as a great show.

Hmmm, so the theme of my comment today is nostalgia.

Thanks jades.red !

Does anyone know if that rating is considered good for...errr... it's broadcast station/format?

Btw, I was wondering the reason why cable TV tends to have lower ratings compared to the public broadcasting stations is because those stations need to be paid to watch right? But do they 'count' ratings the same way as public stations do? Is there a uniform way to measure ratings? I just realise Goblin is gonna be showed on TvN so I was wondering the impact of it on its ratings.

Different cable channels have different ranges of ratings so it is difficult to generalise the popularity for all the cable channels. I think as long as the ratings for a TvN drama is higher than 5%, it is considered as above average (like multiplying by 2 by this relationship isn't linear, it's exponential). Reply 1988 which has a ratings of 18% can be seen as above 50% in broadcast channel ratings term. I think on average, TvN dramas averaged at around 3 to 4%.

I think this is worth working on excel to determine the relationship in order to answer your question. I'm actually having finals right now, which will end this Friday. I will have all the time in the world after Friday which means I will be able to do a simple 'research' on cable stations ratings. Probably you can check this page for the reply or I will post it on Friday's thread!

I think nowadays, TvN's benchmark for a passable drama is 3%. If it's below that then it's a flop and they start looking at chopping off episodes. Entourage is safe though since it's pre-produced and it sold very well in China so they probably already made a profit.

Speaking of pre-produced dramas, I wonder if there is a rule in place where an actor/actress cannot take on a project that can conflict with that drama. I mean, since it is pre-produced, an actor can wind up competing against his own drama if he took a live shoot project and it ended up being on the same day and time-slot as the pre-produced drama.

Romantic Doctor Kim is absolutely excellent and it's my #1 favorite these days, but My Wife is Having an Affair This Week suddenly turned around my trepidation with episode 9, finally subbed at 100% on Viki. This episode turned everything on its head and became amazing. Lee Sun Gyun was right in his interview when he said the drama is NOT about the affair, it's about a man and a husband growing into the realization of how to be a husband and a father.
Legend of the Blue Sea is very pretty to watch and quite funny in places but my heart only soars in the sageuk bits. They would do well to bring in more of the fairytale atmosphere. It's charming.
I'm also enjoying The Man Living in Our House because KYK is yummy to watch.

I'm enjoying Legend of Blue Sea but honestly it's not as addictive as JI or DOTS. Oh how I wish JI never ended T_T. LMH is decent in here. Better than his Kim Tan's character in Heirs. As usual, JJH is delightful and actually "carrying" the show. But I think with the high expectation and hype, it didn't reach to some.
It relies way too much on star power and it gives too similar of vibe of YFAS. I don't know how to say it but I see LMH (previous roles) sort of mashed up together and I don't even remember his character name yet. Even JJH feels a bit mix-up of Cheon Song Yi. That's just me though.

Also, I personally am okay with Kim Eun Sook's dramas (except Heirs) and understand the popularity of her dramas. I feel that her dramas have similar dialogues or male characteristics but it never make me feel that I'm watching On Air within Gentleman of Dignity (same actress - Kim Hanuel). If that make senses...like it differentiate itself. I will see if Goblin can differentiate from her previous work of Secret Garden since both have fantasy elements in them.

There was an article 'SBS drama is hoping for 'ratings 20-20-20 club'. As SBS dramas ratings go up -Mon-Tues/ Romantic doctor (18.9%), Wed-Thurs /Legend of Blud Sea (17.1%), Weekend/ Our Gapsoon (15.3%), people are wondering if SBS can reach ratings 20-20-20 club which is measurement of popularity. The only station which reached this status so far was SBS. IN 2010, SBS had Giant on Mon-tues, DaeMul on Wed-Thurs, and Secret Garden on weekends which earned 'Triple 20 club' status.
