Kim Hye-soo to make cameo appearance in Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim

Despite SBS’s best efforts at negotiations, it looks like hit medical drama Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim won’t be getting an extension after all. I must admit I’m sad to say goodbye to the Doldam Hospital characters that I’ve grown to love. But this piece of news has gotten me perked back up: Kim Hye-soo (Signal) has confirmed that she will be making a cameo appearance in the show’s final episode. Details regarding her character have not been announced, but I’m sure she’ll be charismatic and attention-grabbing, as always.
Due to a last-minute pre-emption for SBS’s music award ceremony, the show got off-schedule by one episode, and an extension looked probable. The series has been performing extremely well and surpassed 25-percent ratings, which is an amazing feat, given that even reaching ten percent is an indicator of success these days. However according to latest reports, there will be no Episode 21; instead, as fan service, the writer has magnanimously agreed to write a “special episode” that still takes place at Doldam Hospital.
We still don’t know whether our main characters (Teacher Kim played by Han Seok-kyu, Seo-jung played by Seo Hyun-jin, and Dong-joo played by Yoo Yeon-seok) will be coming back for the special episode. But, Kim Hye-soo’s cameo appearance is supposed to be in both the finale and the special episode. She and Han Seok-kyu have worked together in two movies before: Dr. Bong and The Villain and the Widow. I’ve already downloaded both to prepare for their potential upcoming reunion. I can only imagine how sizzling the chemistry between the two veteran actors will be, and my imagination says “Holy cow, yes!”
Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim airs its finale on January 16, and the special episode will air the following day.

I saw Kim Hye Soo in Familyhood and while the movie was just okay, I was impressed with how different she was from her character in Signal. This is one hallmark of a great actor, the ability to slip under the skin of a character and own it.
Han Seok Kyu is darn sexy and charismatic. If they are going to spin some love line between him and Kim Hye Soo, I think chemistry is going to go through the roof.

Omo... so this special episode is gonna be "special" for real? Not just a boring episode filled with summary of the show from the beginning till the end? I'm soo excited.
For the first time in forever, I feel sad that the show I like failed to get extension. I think there are still so much potential that we can explore in this show. Too bad.

It is already confirmed that the Special Episode is a Prequel!! It will tell the past or back story of Dr. Kim before the drama started. It was rumored that KHS's role in the Prequel is Dr. Kim's past love interest.

I'm so in love with both actors! Han Seok Kyu is the only actor with who i can accept to see her paired after Signal and the outstanding chemistry that she had with Jo Jin Woong.
If this show can pull off this , it will become a top five favourite for mine for sure.

The villian and the widow---I guess I need to finally finish watching this. (It didn't really grab my attention like rdtk, so never finished the movie.) It'll be interesting to see what the writers come up with for their characters. I'm sure it will be amazing though!
