Script reading for classical music youth drama Do You Like Brahms?

Classical music lovers unite! Upcoming SBS drama Do You Like Brahms? featuring Park Eun-bin (Stove League) and Kim Min-jae (Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 2), is just around the corner. Recently, stills from the first script read in April were released, and it’s looking cute and fresh already.

Do You Like Brahms? tells the story of six youths involved in classical music who have their own problems regarding their aspirations and their love lives. Park Eun-bin plays a 29-year-old college senior majoring in music with a concentration in the violin. She’s already seven years older than her peers because she discovered her passion for the violin later in life. With her approaching graduation, she’s faced with conflicting concerns on the practicality of her future career.

On the other hand, Kim Min-jae plays a world-renowned pianist who is both handsome and gentle. However, he has a hidden pain from his past. Kim Sung-chul (Arthdal Chronicles) plays a cellist who is Kim Min-jae’s good friend. Park Ji-hyun (Rookie Historian Gu Hae-ryung) plays another violinist. Lee Yoo-jin (Be Melodramatic) and Bae Da-bin (Arthdal Chronicles) play Park Eun-bin’s friends, whom she met through an amateur orchestra club in college.

Ye Soo-jung (A Piece of Your Mind) plays the director of the Kyung-hoo Cultural Foundation, and her character plays an integral role in the meeting between Park Eun-bin and Kim Min-jae. Seo Jung-yeon (The King: Eternal Monarch) and Choi Dae-hoon (Crash Landing on You) play characters on the performance planning team. Finally, we have Joo Seok-tae (Secret Boutique) who plays Kim Min-jae’s piano teacher.

Monday-Tuesday drama Do You Like Brahms? will begin airing on SBS starting August 31.

I'm so excited for this drama! Park Eun Bin is my favourite actress! All the cast is pretty good too.

I hope they will use well classical music theme and not juste in the first episode to forget it outright at the end...

Kim min-jae is one of my "do I actually like his acting or do I just think he's attractive" actors.

He's always a liiiiitle boring.

I am not familiar with either Park Eun-bin or Kim Min-jae, but my first thought on seeing the photos above was, "Whoa! When they say 'youth drama", they really mean it this time!" The pair look 16 and 14 respectively. I have since learned they are in their early to late twenties, so my thought is, "Whoa! Magic genes!"

One of the finest (and award winning) recent dramas was STOVE LEAGUE. Park Eun-bin was the female lead. She is really good.

Two of my favorite shows that KMJ have been in are The Best Hit and Tempted (this one is amazing also because of WDH who's just gorgeous lol) if you wanna check them out before this one airs! :)

I hope the drama doesn't use the music angle as a gimmick. I'm still miffed about Hae-won being a cellist but not toting her cello around in I'LL FIND YOU ON A BEAUTIFUL DAY. Lol.
