We’ve got a lot of premieres ahead of us (more on the weekend shows later in the week), and in our Wednesday-Thursday slot, we have tvN’s new melodrama Eve. Seo Ye-ji’s drama comeback has her scheming revenge against Park Byung-eun using all of her wit and wiles — and a lot of patience, it seems, to execute her years-in-the-making plot. Also starring is Lee Sang-yub as the politician who feels compelled to protect Seo Ye-ji’s character. Does she need protecting? Will she show him her vulnerable side? Or will she just use him, and his affection for her? The drama manages to look both soapy and sumptuous all at the same time, and at this point it can go either way — but I’m banking on the talent to inject enough raw emotion to carry this thing from slippery soapy mess into melodrama heaven.

I hope this is not a romance genre. I just want Seo Ye-ji's character to get revenge and not fall in love with anyone.

From what I could see in the first episode, there is no romance. I mean there might be a fool falling in a perfectly set trap, but could it be classified as romance?
I am so excited for the next episode and I hope that it won't fall flat on the way, as many dramas did before.
This first episode was sizzling hot and I cannot think of any other actress who could pull it better.

And her make up artist. I think a huge lot of the charm of the first episode had to do with the make up - even how a lipstick shade can set one apart from the crowd.
And the wardrobe is to die for. And again, the wardrobe may be used to describe the characters. If I don't read too much into it.

Oh great news. See Ye Ji is not only drop-dead beautiful (hence a lot of the spiteful comments) but an amazing actress, I can't wait to see this. My Revenge Notes? (Sorry, so sad MLN is over so a nice healthy melodrama could be just the ticket, as long as there isn't any screeching!)
