Based on the first 2 episodes, 19th life is the better drama between the two, but Yoona and Junho have undeniable star power, that and the fact that JTBC has been cranking out hit after hit lately.

My Perefect stranger deserved a bigger audience

Yes, I'm enjoying King the Land but See You In My 19th Life is undoubtedly the better drama imo.

Week 2 has Revenant (Oh Jung Se and Kim Tae Ri), Miss Du Rian (a makjang) and Numbers during the weekend. King the Land and See You In My 19th Life will have a tough competition...

The real competition will be next week, when the veteran actors and a diva writer’s drama will premier. Meatier dramas will attract more of the older viewers.
Saturdays will be a bit crowded, but Durian maybe the standout for Sundays.

Durian writer's previous show had 3 seasons, surely people will be tuning in for the makjang.

I'm not a fan, but I think she gets her generation. My mom will be all in emotionally till the bitter end. LOL

I'm rooting for NUMBERS. It's good to see the two Choi(s), Min-soo and Jin-hyuk together again in a drama.

I am rooting for the heavier and meatier dramas.

Shocked by King the Land's ratings jump since its first episode got bad reviews and was a snoozefest.

It's sad how much Season 3 of Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim has fallen compared to its first two seasons.

JTBC is getting better at placing their dramas ahead of the competition for better rating.
I dropped it after the MLs conversation with his British butler. It reminds me of Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth in Nolan's Batman series. I had fun rewatching the first 2 movies.

I hope to see Han Suk-kyu in a different drama. Kim Sabu was a great character, but something new would be good for a change.

I'm not sure what negative reviews you're referring to, but I read several general press reviews this morning, and they were pretty uniformly positive. Most of the critics note that its plot is simplistic and cliched, but that by leaning into that, the drama feels fun and refreshing. Lots of raise for both lead actors as well.

You pegged it...they are leaning into the cliche, but in a fun way. The professional critics understand what the commenters on here don't.

I feel like "Delightfully Deceitful" is just getting good, so I'm surprised/disappointed there was a drop-off between eps. 5 & 6 this week.

I really like "19th Life" and hope it continues to grow, but "King" is the flashier show, I guess, due to all the hype, media attention, and its classic romcom premise. I'm a little surprised it jumped that much from ep 1 to 2, but that may simply be because they gained some of the "Dr. Kim's viewers" the second night. Even though I'm not completely smitten with "King," I'm rooting for both of these shows to remind execs that there is a huge market for decent romcoms.

19th Life started well and deserves its numbers. Let's see where it goes.
K-viewers must be REALLY starved for a classical cheesy romcom... Is there a hidden murder mystery tho?^^

Even though it is dramatically superior to the weekender that preceded it THE REAL HAS COME is struggling to hold a normal weekender audience.

KING THE LAND is getting the love that it deserves but, as far as I am concerned, I'LL SEE YOU IN MY 19TH LIFE is not. The first two episodes were great and if the show can keep it up- which is certainly possible when it stars Shin Hye-sun- it may be one of the best dramas of the year.

I don't know that much about weekenders, and I'm still on ep 10 of this, but I'd guess TRHC has too many unlikable characters for this genre.

I normally love Shin Hye-Sun...such a talented actress. But, there's something about her here that I don't like. And Ahn Bo Hyun is a weak character so far...not much to root for.

I'm enjoying King the Junho, but the more than 2% jump is rather surprising.

Let me say thank you to my beloved Romantic Teacher Doctor Kim. You've been my very source of joy for the past 8 weeks. Now I know that if I ever need a dose of optimism and some wise words, I'll rewatch you again.

This season is by no means perfect, but what ever is? You gave me so much joy, consolation, companionship, wise words and I'll be forever thankful for these.

You're my NO 1 K medical drama for me.
(I loved HP1 and 2, too; but they won't make more SSs, so...)

Eagerly looking forward to any news on SS4 production and cast.
