New character posters for action-noir The Worst of Evil

It’s hard not to be seduced by the pretty in Disney+’s new posters for the upcoming The Worst of Evil, luring us to follow our charismatic leads into the dark underground of 1990s Gangnam. Touted as the ~cinematic~ edition, the crime-action’s striking character posters allow us to get up close and personal, but oh to be a fly in that car with Ji Chang-wook (If You Wish Upon Me) and Wie Ha-joon (Little Women).

As our protagonist, the former plays police officer Park Joon-mo, who is tasked with the dangerous job of going undercover to take down a rising crime ring. This means Joon-mo has to gain the trust of the powerful mob boss Jung Ki-chul (Wie Ha-joon). But the conflict is not simply good versus evil, and our characters have to grapple with the internal struggle of whether they can give up everything in order to get what they want.

This holds true for Im Se-mi (Duty After School) as well, playing fellow police officer Yoo Eui-jung. Although she’s part of the same team investigating the gang’s drug trafficking crimes, Eui-jung is in a tricky position with personal investment in the case: Joon-mo is her husband and she has past ties with Ki-chul.

However, it looks like we might be getting some kind of love (?) square with singer BIBI (a.k.a. Kim Hyung-seo)(Hopeless) in her drama debut as Hae-ryun. She plays a key role in the Chinese division of drug manufacturing and travels to South Korea to propose a deal with Ki-chul. That is, until she crosses paths with Joon-mo and a new plan develops.

Written by Jang Min-seok (Secret Reunion) with co-directing by filmmaker Han Dong-wook (Man in Love) and PD Park Geun-beom, Disney+’s The Worst of Evil is slated to premiere on September 27.

Disney doesn't skimp on production - if these character posters (and also past Disney K-dramas) are anything to go by!

Also mob boss WHJ?! How did they get access to my secret fanfiction folder?? 😆

After his role in Little Women, I didn't expect that his next project will have him at the helm of his own nefarious organization.

As if it can't get any more complicated...this has to bring out the best of stories that will last enough for it's run.
Their relationship entanglement is giving me a semblance to what we had in The Spies Who Loved Me.

Did I fully and completely roll my eyes to the back of skull several times when I read on Soompi that Eui Jung doesn't just have ties, she is Ki Chul's first love as well, sigh. Will I still watch this? of course.

Amnesia ?!?
Don’t worry, a good knock to the head* will cure it.
* What dramas have taught me about amnesia.

I have (futile) hope this will be messy enough to break the leads apart.

It's part of my bigger futile hope that Joon Mo (protag) will undergo a full curroption arc. I don't think I've seen it in a KDrama and though I KNOW it would not be recived well, I would like to see a drama attempt this.

A love square will be such a freakin' headeche, though.

Will WHJ ever headline a drama? Based on his recent roles, I guess he doesn't want to be a convential kdrama ML--which is fine--but I can only hope someone offers him a Flower of Evil type script.

So many dramas with "evil" in the title, and most of them were good. Will this one continue the tradition?
Also Bibi is now acting? Didn't see that coming, tho I probably should've after her cinematic MVs. How about an OST as well?

Yeah, she acts now. She's in a movie alongside Song Joon-ki. I think it's either dropped or about to drop.

Oh, interesting. I'm not that much into k-movies (mainly troubles with access to subbed versions), but I'll look it up, thanks.

These look so good !
I really like the atmosphere. And now I have expectations for this Ji Chang Wook project... while I felt nothing for the previous two, that are the only dramas of his that I did not discovered long after their airing.
Please be like the trailers, please be like the trailers drama...
