I saw the first two episodes yesterday. It was funny "fine," not funny "great." It may suit other people's sense of humor better. I doubt I'll finish unless I'm stuck on a plane with four hours to kill and Hulu's somehow the only streaming platform I can access. An unlikely scenario, indeed.

Ha, same here.

To be honest, the whole time I was kinda like, “This looks really expensive. And it doesn’t really look like it deserves to be so expensive” lol. It was just very… generic.

I think people who really like the actors might enjoy themselves, but I sadly just found it pretty boring.

My thoughts after watching 2 episodes, which I cross-posted elsewhere:

-- I watched 2 eps because I was waiting for the comic part to start. It didn't. 3 lines of jokes, most of which do not land well, do not a comedy make.

-- It seems to be a regular k-drama about evil chaebols, and brooding heroes with dark histories, and unrequited loves, etc etc.

-- The main cast - Sung Dong Il, Kim Hee Won, Kwon Sang Woo - is great, but the rest are pretty uneven.

-- The intro credits were cartoonish, so I was expecting the drama to be so as well, but only the villains are cartoonish. The story itself was quite dark, starting with an incident reminiscent of the Han ferry sinking incident. Unless story is going for some black comedy in eps 3-6, this is not a comedy. And I am bummed because of it.

-- TBF, it's not a bad show, just about average. Since it's only got a 6-ep run, and I have nothing else to watch, and I'm already 33% through, I might as well finish it. I do, not, however, have any great expectations

So the only new thing, it's the Han River set-up. Otherwise, we got :
- The risk-taker / intrepid ML like every cop in Korea...
- The rookie
- The FL being over the top for everything
- The villain who has a development project

The cast is doing well.

Kim Hee-Won can use his boat licence :p

I enjoyed the first two episodes. It isn't breaking any new grounds except the story takes place along the Han River. There isn't any fatal flaws I noticed at this time.

The cast is good and likeable. I'm more familiar with the supporting cast than the leads, but the cast did a good job.

The series has more of a series tone and mystery to it.

I'll watch the final four episodes to see where the story takes us.

I wish Disney + had their subtitle game down like other sites. (It’s available in the Uk) they only have English cc for the subtitles so the translations are not great, and the the discriptions are kinda distracting( it’s why I dropped another drama on Disney) . The drama seems enjoyable so I’ll push through.

Gotta say I was disappointed in Han River Police. I was hoping it was a sincere look at the job and the people that choose this line of work. The humor failed for me.
I won’t continue watching. It’s a shame really. It could have been so much more.
