Name That Drama: Giant cell phones and Queen Elizabeth

There’s a K-drama scene so absurd that I can’t forget it. Ironically, I’ve pretty much forgotten the rest of the drama, so I can’t find the scene in question to rewatch it and laugh at all the cringe. I think the overall plot was about a spoiled chaebol daughter whose family abruptly loses their fortune, but before they go bankrupt, the daughter begs and pleads with her father to have him buy her the latest and greatest cell phone — which just so happens to be the size of a large tablet. (No exaggeration. It looked like a first gen iPad.) So after buying this monstrosity of a phone, she’s attacked or robbed or something and has to panic dial 119. The struggle is real, and 10+ years ago I got a good laugh at her fumbling to dial the number and hold the massive smartphone to her ear. I have a strong desire to see how poorly this has aged with time, so can anyone help me?

A while ago, a couple of Beanies tried unsuccessfully to help me identify the drama in which a chaebol granny makes a grand entrance onstage at what I think is a shareholders’ meeting. I think she was coming to save the day for her grandson, who was about to be taken down by his family rivals. The part I remember best was that she was clearly meant to look like Queen Elizabeth — dressed in a conservative ladies’ suit and hat, with two corgis on leashes. Unfortunately, I can’t recall any of the actors in the scene. Does anyone recognize this scene? I know it’s going to keep driving me crazy until I get an answer!

I feel like I saw a woman crash a press event with dogs in Vincenzo. Am I totally wrong? Haha

You're right, she was Kim Sung-cheol's mother in Episode 8 of Vincenzo.

🎉🎉🎉 Eureka! Vincenzo never even occurred to me. I went back and watched the end of episode 8, and it’s exactly the scene I was thinking of. I got a kick out of the character’s “royal” entrance, with the take-off on Queen Elizabeth.

@britney - Thank you for restoring a small piece of my sanity. A while back, I had posted on my fan wall about corgis in Kdrama. I couldn’t for the life of me remember where I’d seen this instance. Now I can go back and add it.

Thanks...it bugged me too that I couldn't find it. I dropped this show almost exactly at episode 8, but I knew that I'd seen it too somewhere--which is confirmed now that I've gone back and looked thanks to @britney.

However (하지만), even knowing now where it is, I find it's nearly un-locat-able through internet means...even the Dramabeans photo is just of the grandmother at the podium--no dogs in sight!

Also, OMG, who was NOT in Vincenzo. Rewatching this scene, I was all, "It's so nice to see Taec...oh! and Jo Han-chul...oh! and Kim Yeo-jin..."

I just spent more time than I want to admit figuring out how to screenshot the image without getting a black screen. I'm a stubborn ol' Beanie, though, and finally succeeded. I'll be posting in soon on my fan wall. There's another shot I want to get of one of the studios whose opening animation includes a corgi romping through a field. Now if I could only remember which studio...😏
