Drama viewership ratings for the week of December 18-24, 2023

It’s a distracted week for dramas (and next week more so with a lot of award show preemptions coming up), but we bid goodbye to A Bloody Lucky Day, and said hello to Like Flowers in Sand, which saw a pretty nice premiere for the mid-week slot on ENA.

The weekend was a bit quieter than usual, but most of the interest is still on The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract and Welcome to Samdal-ri.

I wonder if more people will tune in for Live Your Own Life, now that Hyo Shin finally started living her own life.

Or did they wait too long? The grin on her face as she runs down the stairs to the moving truck was just wonderful.

Hyo Shin was 17 episodes too late for that, but because I have already lost hope, I can't even complain.

Ratings went DOWN this weekend for LYOL. In a very significant way. Perhaps because of the holiday weekend?

Ahh My Demon - will we ever see a 5%+? 😭

Though it's so steady (understatement probably) on Netflix - jumped to #2 in the Global Top 10 List for last week (11th-17th Dec), meaning it's spent its fourth consecutive week in the charts. Also was in Top 10 for 50 countries in that same week - which is really, really solid numbers.

Tell Me That You Love Me doing about the same as The Dog show is making my eye twitch. I love the Dog Show as much as the next person (though not this weeks ep.) but TMTYLM is like light years ahead in terms of quality, so what gives 😭

TMTYLM is indeed gorgeous. I have not picked up the Dog Show yet but I think its the popularity of the actors that helps with its ratings.

What is trending on Netflix may or may not match the ratings in Korea, as these ratings are determined by viewers in Korea, which somehow or rather have their own tastes and preferences that are distinctly different from other viewers

In SK they liked the shows I didn’t like and hated the shows I liked. Sounds about right. 😝

So happy to see Matchmakers hit 5.0 for these two episodes hope the finale maintains the 5.0.
Welcome to Samdalri looks like it could hit 10 before the series ends, I am enjoying it so far. I think this reflects the story and the top actors.

Sadly, neither MAESTRA nor TELL ME THAT YOU LOVE ME is available tome on a legal site. As a result, I have no idea whether their ratings are good or bad for the show.

The weekender continues to struggle in its ratings even though the show itself has improved in tone and coherency. The plots are actually moving forward but perhaps too much damage was done with people being miserable too long and the fact that many of the characters are unlikeable.

I hope Tell Me That You Love Me and Like Flowers in Sand are able to do better.
